    Peter Cullen voiceover, the sick beat in the background and editing of various clips pulls it all together. "Advanced Robotics" was Toonami at it's finest

    To this day, Toonami is the only place that I've ever been able to watch "The Big O" and I will forever be thankful for that, one of the best Giant Mech anime's I've ever seen

    Oh yeah, this one always stuck out to me as a kid. Where other Toonami bumpers were about strength, courage, believing in yourself, and overcoming the odds, this one was just "Robots are coming and they'll kill us all." Chilling, I loved it haha

    I don't think we give enough credit to Peter Cullen for narrating a lot of the promos for Toonami. He was legit the voice of the block outside of Steve Blum. I want him to come back one more time for new Toonami

    Nostalgic as it is, I find it funny that most of the footage used is from manned machines but very little footage is used for the actual unmanned units (namely the Mobile Dolls Virgo and Taurus from Gundam Wing)

    ...and so began my love for mecha after seeing this promo 20 years ago. Never looked back. Musical Edits by Skateboarders and hip hop fans, Voice Actors dedicated to their craft. One of a kind experience and Peter Cullen was the icing on the cake.

    I stayed watching when I was a kid on up . Tell it was stopped and Adult Swim started. Toonami was a staple for me .Big O ,Gundam, Outlaw Star was my favorites. My childhood 😊.

    Gosh, these promos... It's like going back in time. The world was a much simpler place back then, or at least it felt that way. These shows were an escape for me from a harsh reality. I miss them and I really hope a new generation can find the same joy in them that we all did.

    When I was a teen I used to love these little promos I used to say holy s*** this is amazing it always gave me goosebumps the think about the now it's amazing after 25 years that still so goddamn good so cheers the next 25 years and the next generation of animators dudes and misses out there watching this

    This promo always made me sad, because Gundam Wing and Outlaw Star had been rotated off Toonami's schedule by the time it aired; but there the footage was, teasing the kid me in a pre-RUclips era. :(

    Even though you can find digital copies if you know where to look, I am jealous of everyone who landed a copy of "Toonami: Deep Space Bass". A lot of the bump music ended up on that album.

    THIS COMMERCIAL! Oh, the nostalgia has hit me like a semi-truck. I grew up on a bunch of DBZ VCR tapes recorded by my brothers and this was one of the trailers on them. I must have seen it hundreds of times. Sadly, the tapes have long since been lost so to see this again has made me all sorts of emotional.
    Thank you so much for blasting me into the past. Here's to another 25 Years of Toonami!

    Cowboy Bebop and Big O went right over my head when I was a kid watching them air for the first time. Saw them again when I was deployed as an adult and they weren't even recognizable. Now Bebop is a close second for me, only to Berserk of course.

    I've missed this so much. I use to love staying up late late watching AS anime. There's streaming services now but this was a whole mood and vibe. Plus this was so much better at introducing anime to western audiences.
