  • Light bars have quickly become a favourite tool for their versatility in creating a variety of shapes and setups in both photo and video. And now Aputure has decided to double down on that and make a light specifically built around tight and easy to build setups. But what sacrifices had to be made to achieve this? Let's find out!
(I had to rerelease this video, slightly updated, as the algorithm was trying to ignore the first version. My apologies)

It's most underrated channel in my opinion. So much depth in each review and no gimmicks. Two thumbs up!

I have the 4ft infini bar and it’s awesome no flickering in my videos when shooting high frame rates . In my opinion, someone always going to Nic-pick about something no product is ever going to be perfect but this product in my opinion is pretty damn close and very easy to use. It looks awesome on camera. Also, very easy to set up so no time wasted on set. And the best part is they include a baby pen for easy rigging so I don’t get that part about not liking the baby pin. People if you got the money or its something that you want buy it… you won’t regret it.

Great video. I went to your spreadsheet and only saw tabs for camera bodies and lenses. If you have time can you link your score sheet for the lights?

Ah! I inserted the wrong link. It's fixed now!

Hi Perry, first I would like to thank you on the great information but also make a few questions.
On your spreadsheet the CRI averages are normal or Extented CRI?

    • @WesPerry
      @WesPerry  5 месяцев назад +1

      Extended (Ra).

Also, as this is a valuable service, you might think in some sort of payed service for a complete sheet including 3200k, 4000k and also R9, R11 and and R13 scores.
Again, thank you very much for the valuable info.

Unfortunately I had to draw the line Somewhere for my initial testing of my back catalog of lights to create a comparison database (or the project would have taken far too long). I have considered posting fuller data sheets for new lights going forward, but wasn’t sure of the utility of doing so.

I did experiment with a more detailed breakdown of other colour temps, but found that in the few lights that I did this for, the changes followed a pretty predictable curve/line between the other three points (2700, 5600, 6500) anyway. There’s a chance there are some surprises hiding in other lights, but I have my doubts.

I’m considering buying either these Aputure Infinibars or the Godox LD150 RGB Panel Light. I’m just not sure which one would make the better key light for a music video and I’m scared of the flickering 😅. What are your thoughts on the flickering with the infinibars? Is it a deal breaker?

    • @WesPerry

What did you hear about flickering?

@@WesPerry Another tech reviewer mentioned that it would be impossible to shoot at high speeds using these because of flickering. I believe I noticed some flickering in your video around the 9:00 mark during your extended testing. A different reviewer mentioned that the speed could be adjusted within the inifinibar settings to prevent flickering.

@shawnjones1272 the flicker you’re seeing in my video is the pwm of the fairy lights on the wall, and not the infinibar.

I’ll test with a high speed camera later today to be sure, but I hadn’t noticed any flicker as of yet.
