I was Coast Guardsman back in the late 70's for six years. I loved every minute of it and can honestly say it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Because you never did a thing all day !
@@MrRobin61 How did you know? Where you in the Coast Guard too? Lol

We worked hard and did the job instead of just looking @@randmayfield5695
People that do this kind of work (coast guard) are the best.
I'd like to extend that to all of our armed services. But the Coast guard do serve a vital role in protecting our waters.
I'm better than them.
The USCG is useless when it comes to salvage! Sorry, I speak from many experiences.

The boat captain's new nickname is Mr. Sandman!
Not funny

Only because you lack a sense of humor.
Your a joker
"Aleutian Storm" is right ! That is the birth place of storms! (been there, done that). Would like to know if the crew was tested for dru..!
Quite the tough training mission for the Guard. Great experience.
Maybe attach more than one tow line?
They had more than one.
@@MissilemanIII well damn.
Good no one get injury! 🙏🙏
They should be able to get the boat out.
That's my daughter!❤❤❤
Beautiful girl!
@@ScottSmith-xb9sp thank you.
Is she single??😊
@@BONECRUSHER41599 hahaha no. Her husband is a chopper pilot for the CG.

We once yanked a f/v. Off the beach at keller's shelter, in malibu...we had to wait for the king tide at midnight...but with 20 or so boats lined up, we did it...
Why don’t they work that hard before it gets too close
Why is the boat called her or she. Why cant it be Called IT. OR HE. OR THEY OR EVEN THOSE…..😂😂😂
You don’t run aground just from some “weather” in a vessel that size. Seems like an investigation on that crew is in order for this one
All they would have needed is a Sikorsky, a couple heavy duty straps and a pocket full of money.
... Great news story... But I HATE the forced 15 second commercial YT puts frequently at the end of clips...
1:00 look at that thing pitch in the surf, you can get that off the beach just give er some throttle forward and reverse, that sand is soft, she'll dig a hole in it and eventually get her self free
Engine or cap problems, it doesn't just get beached by itself
It was in a big storm and got pushed that way.
Who knows, tank sludge can become a big problem when it gets agitated due to severe conditions and clog fuel delivery in a hurry, or any number of mechanical failures when an old boat is getting battered around more than normal.
this moment will be very memorable for me
Such an easy job if done by the Dutch , now its a disaster
That boats gone soon
Steel or not the gas gonna kill the surf fish striped bass perch and sand crabs who’s gonna cover all that???
How about getting a drudge boat to clear a path or a drudge sucker to move sand?
@@johnnichol9412 A drudge boat is a boat with that suction thing on it to suck up all that sand and move it
@heavydsparks takes government's bids
If the coast guard is involved the ship is doomed. You need professional salvors there who have the equipment and know how to react quickly. The longer “Unified command” is in play the worse it will get.
A salvage company would already be there taking possession of the boat if they thought they could sell it back to the owner or someone else at a price that would cover their costs and leave some profit. The insurance company salvage coverage probably isn't high enough for this, the owners probably don't have the cash to pay for recovery upfront and the Coast Guard doesn't want to pay a company to remove the boat. Eventually the State will get involved, maybe months from now and pay for the boat to be removed and pursue cost recovery from the owners. Or, the towing effort may just be successful.
Salvage crews are there.
The boat kind of looks like a he to me but that's just me.
Like the "Bismarck" was a he
Us vs state coast guard local sba
Why do the coast guard have to be the ones doing it? Taxpayers money is not to save private property.
Oh BOO-HOO!! Waaaahhh!!
They are the authority who oversees responses in marine environment accidents enforcing and following EPA protocol’s, and they are there to investigate and compile reports determining whether causes were accidental in nature or due to negligence.
Can they still catch fish in the meantime?
Sounds like amature hour outa the gate call a professional please.
Is insurance gonna replenish the great surf fishery tgat goes on tgere ? Nobody care about the fish or he fisherman last month we been getting keeper dungeonous crab from there after the boat ran aground all THE crab left who’s gonna cover that ???
how much is this going to cost the taxpayers?
Nothing he has good insurance
Cali captains, no clue how to run their boats, like , it’s awesome dudes!!!
