Can we appreciate the fact that this man got a shifter extension just so we can see him shifting
i was thinking just the same :)
Truck is really coming together!
It’s amazing how you’re slowly transforming your truck. Most People just go out and grab a huge loan just to make their truck look good. But you have the patience 👏🏾keep being disciplined mate👊🏽
No one takes a loan, who do you hang around with?
When you get done with the cooler for the week leave the lid open and let it air keeps the smell down or use a coffee filter and some coffee soaks the smell right up
Thank you for the advice!
Trucker AK I put bbq charcoals and there will never be any bad smel even if it’s off
I like how you take pride in your rig. Its not just a tool to do your job|
Wow now that's a slick looking truck
Trucks starting to come together but it definitely needs a new paint job but I know that costs alot you should get stacks next that Detroit needs some straight pipes
Always love the videos..seeing you and seeing your truck come together, to your liking..I would def suggest the zipties, with the wiring with the gear shift..that way they don't interfere in anyway. Just be safe always brother! =)
Truck looking good keep the old school no def and dpf and condolences on your friend stay safe and healthy
I've had old Merc carseats reupholstered and at least the way Merc did it was that you could order those foam parts inside the seat and they had a part number. You can definitely get new foam for the seats by visiting an upholsterer or asking Freightliner. It definitely wasn't as expensive as you thought either but be prepared to leave your seat at the upholsterer for a while.
Truck looks freaking awesome, next is putting a jet engine in the back!
Hi, AK. Your classic is looking, good brother. I think that you should get your seat done first then do the floor. Your hood should stay the same colour as it stops the glare from the sun. Keep on trucking and doing these videos.
Nice shifter
We have a $15,000 year minimum budget for each truck. I have the same steps on my FLD. We try to add to the budget each year. It's looking good.
Good work guy
Man I love your channel!! I've been telling all my buddies about this channel and to watch and they have and they're subscribing! I think you'll go to 100,000 quick!! Keep up the good work and may God bless you and all your family!!!!
Thank you! I appreciate the support ! I hope so
What you can do bro. Buy raptor liner by u pol. Buy a tintable kit then go to a car paint store get the paint made any color and bedline the whole truck. I did it with my freightliner. And i still have that truck. Looks 300x better than it did and it cost me less than 900$ for the supplies.
I can book some shit and head over for a few days and help ahaha.
Love seeing an update video from AK.
Awesome to see the progression on your truck! It's paying off dude
Ya know I always used to wonder why drivers extended their shifters. So I put in a 12in extension. Tell ya what. Not only does it feel better up there. But in a way its easier to shift, just my opinion. Anyways, good job finally getting to that.
Bratha . Your truck is more beautiful
Looking good my guy! Can't wait to see your dash fixed up, when you pushed your air brakes in and the whole panel flexed I cringed
Yeah cause the piece that holes the air brakes it broken , I had to rig somehow to make it stay
@@TruckerAK how does that end up broken? Is it just fatigue or someone treating it like a punching bag?
Jamie S people treating it like a punching bag basically because the air brake valve is bolted on to the plastic skeleton so 20 years of abuse
Well....I just binge watched all of your videos man. I can't tell you how thankful I am to have found your channel! I am currently working on getting my CDL. Thank you so much for your informative and entertaining videos. Keep up the great work!
I’m glad it was informational for you ! And good luck on your CDL !
No problem I’m glad you enjoyed ! And good luck on getting your CDL
AK. Great video. Got a little view of Mom & Dad. Thanks Mom & Dad for the help. I don't have my parents . Both have passed. Enjoy ever moment you can with them. Good idea to save some money for repairs. Paint job can be last. It's going to cost the most & a lot of down time. Can you do a short video on the dash gauges & switches. I'm not sure what a couple of them are. Stay Safe & Be Careful
Yeah I can make a video of them but yeah I appreciate any time they can help me out for sure
Truck is looking better and better every video.
Thank you
A big AWESOME for your Mom and Dad too.
Best parents ever
Hi AK. Great video 👍🏻 Love the fixing ones as you make it really interesting Buddy 😄 Like the black hood 🤣 Take care until the next time Stevie 😎🇬🇧
Great video. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just ordered a bunch of chrome interior pieces and a shifter head plus extension put a visor on and painted alllllll of my interior.
Cant wait to hit the road do a trip.
Shifting with an extension feels easier too. Looks good bro.keep the videos coming
Thank you will do and nice send me some pictures on instagram
Trucker AK I sent pics g. Check your dm requests.
Gotta say love the tucking vids also have to say love seeing the progress of this truck getting turned around!
Truck looking great keep up the great work
there are no detail photos or videos on the install of the skeletons I hope you share. Your doing a great job on the classic
Ill make one dont worry
TruckerAK, you should put a hardwood floor in the truck. You can go buy everything for under $300 and have it installed. I know of another driver who did it to his 99 Peterbilt 379exhd and he did it all for under $300
TruckerAK, you can get everything at Home Depot, Lowe's or Menards. Depends on what you want to do. Home Depot is a good choice for hardwood scratch resistant flooring and the quiet kill padding insulation. Check into it when you get a chance
hello ,i appreciate the chromy interior coming together i really like your content . one thing i noticeed on your truck is the rusty sidemirror hangers near the headlights , Hey paint those with chrome or trim paint looks much better
Yeah I’m going to polish them soon when I have some time
you should check out pypes exhaust systems for trucks. It would make that detroit sound amazing
Looking good af AK good af brother.
I love the truck a lot also don't forget to listen to truck driver songs and don't feel that don't feel worried just you're going to be just fine
"Truck driver songs" you must be dumb
@@sshagann chill my guy dont be rude
Trucker Ak excelente video
Got to see you in union city, ga yesterday
Did you?
Yes sir. You even blew my doors down southbound on 75. Lol
So our livestock company is call buckshot express you can look it up but we’re stationed in Iowa and I want to know what you think is good money for trucking
Swap out your seat for a new one it will make a huge difference in the ride. It will make you feel like your sitting on your couch at home.
Do more pov and life as a trucker
I'm excited to see all the changes coming up! You think you'll put blue LEDs inside the cab?
Yeah for sure
great video
Maybe you can put to some long tube horns on your truck
Paint the truck gloss black
Hope you're doing OK during these "Protests"
That is real GANGSTA Chiznik Mack daddy u da man the boys of da 47th street crew will be impressed
here 🤙🏽
hi @Trucker AK i am from malaysia i like watching you install new things to your truck just want to ask are going to change the colour of your dash... and i think you should hold on to changing your seats because i have an idea what you can do to your seats, you can change your seat colour when you change the colour of your truck to match the outer colour
Yeah I could do that good idea
I never understood raising the shifter up so high. I like we're mine is from the factory. I actually rest my hand on it while my arm rests down. Looks good.👍. Like they say everybody's truck is different for a reason. I'm hearing brand new truck is in my future. My FLD will be going to our second driver. Not sure if I want to give mine up. 😆
I got 2019 western star 5700ex I bought 18in chrome bumper from raney chrome shop
You got your truck looking good man
If I don’t like it down the road I can awkward remove it but new trucks aren’t bad either
Can you please make shore you do a detail install on you Skelton I have to do both of mines
To each his own I think it looks cool. But ergonomically I prefer the factory shifter.love your videos.
I didn’t want it to look really huge but just a little I feel with the shifts it goes in a little easier
There's an article done a few years ago by a orthopedic surgeon. He stated that 90% of the shoulder surgeries he has performed were on truckers. A low factory shifter contributes to an unnatural range of motion in the shoulder. Pushing the shifter forward with the arm at a downward angle is a cause of rotator cuff inflammation, injuries and wear on the shoulder joint. An extension puts the arm parallel to the floor, pushing forward with the arm straight is more natural. But why does it bother guys like you? It's not your truck, not your money, so why the "each their own" remark? Just because you don't understand it, doesn't make it wrong.
It really kinda looks nice
funny how you pulled the airlines and they kept coming out lol
Great job brother... Question the front bumper looks bent in, suppose to be like that??
The person that owned it before me hit something that’s why it’s bent
@@TruckerAK 👍👍 thank you for replying
hey a k dont paint hood 10 million white trucks yours sticks out just keep ur clean you can order bottom seat cushon give your parts guy the serial number on seat enjoy the chanel
im new to your channel, its cool your parents are supporting you....was your dad a truck driver?
Yah my dad is also a driver he is a container hauler as well
@@TruckerAK thats awesome, my dad worked 38 years as a railway conductor, BUT owned 2 R model Mack trucks that my cousins drove.....i railroaded alot of my working years but had semi dump in the tangle as well....i was hired at Amtrak as a assistant conductor in march only to be laid off after class due to covid 19.....i went to home depot for a fill in job, after my manager found i had a CDL i have been threw 2 interviews with Cardinal driving semi flatbeds hauling plywood and drywall....i actually really cant wait to jam gears again....from what cardinal drivers are telling me i can make more in a year than amtrak....IM GAIN!!!! hope to see you on the highway!
Do a wood floor
Any reason you drive a smart car? just find it funny you go from a semi to a smart car
The smart car I’ve had for 10 years
👍👍
Ak Please don't lie wasnt Your truck purple in the beginning of the RUclips carrer
Nice looking truck man! What year is it? Being a Freightliner, if you take good care of it, then it will take care of you!
It’s a 2000 and thank you the truck was a pos when I bought it but im turning it around slowly
I'm having the same problem with my seat like foam dust around the seat every day did you figure out a fix?
What size airlines did you use for the extension?
I can see why you did the shifter mod, and it looks nice but surely it will be scalding hot in the summer? And also freezing cold in the winter? Either way it looks awesome!
It’s summer right now and it isn’t hot
Still think you should ditch those drum lug caps. the spikes looked better.
Gotta invest in an a.p.u.
Yeah once I get 10k I will
Contact Bruce Wilson. He has a u tube channel. He knows a guy in Dade City south of you. This man has alot of older trucks. Contact him for parts.
Ak when u get stacks what kind u getting flats or like yours but bigger
Good question I don’t know I’ll have to see what I like
Why frightliner? Why not peterbilt out of American wagons peterbilt are my fav .I own a s730 scania ..
Freightliner is cheaper with everything
I know the shifter was coming
No lock tight or anything??? 🤔
i mean if i ever want to extend it more i didnt put it for that reason
Second
Crappy welds??
Lol 6:37
Paint the Truck , AK
Did you listen to the vidio?
Where did you get the ac blower?
What’s the name of the business where you purchased your hood
I bought it from some random dude who has a junk yard on the outside of Jax didn’t have a name
First comment
you are first
More crap to bust ur knuckles on,,fall off in ur hands..trip over getting to the other side..or in the bunk..just looks pretty....lol
God Bless in Jesus Christ Name Amen.
I gotta ask... why does everyone do this? Add extensions?? Jw lol
Comfortable for some
Looks like a piece of cardboard in the top window,, I do that too.
You should put some nice carpet inside the truck
Just go out and steal ur buddy's seat or one out of a company truck...oh and it's better to put ur seat back in the other truck that you took their seat from cause they really get pissed when they climb in the truck and ain't got nothing to sit on...LMAO
LOL
How do u get outta the shyness of holding a camera in public I can’t get over it
Just happens over time to be honest
You are putting alot cash into this truck and idling? Doesn't make sense as it's very costly in maintenance and fuel. Medium and large fleets have APUs for driver comfort without taxing the engine. Good video though.
I’m saving for a APU in the future
What no flowers for your GF??
32 years of driving and I'll never understand raising the shifter.
Some people like it higher cuz it feels better higher
I hear it makes it easier to shift..you kno how these kids are these days...lol
Novel Marshall. I bet that there are many things in life that you don't understand.
@@wilE6764 I'm pretty sure you heard wrong. Imaging sitting in your car with your shifter about chin level and now what do you think?
I got a 9 inch shifter u can extend weirdo
So our livestock company is call buckshot express you can look it up but we’re stationed in Iowa and I want to know what you think is good money for trucking
