VW has made a huge leap forward with this car. While it would be great to have these improvements on the older models of ID, I'm reasonable certain that they will not retrofit the already sold cars anymore and expect you to buy the newer models from them.
The one thing that, for now, makes me get away from it is the price... ~73,000 € is quite a lot for a car that doesn't come close to Mercedes-Benz nor Porsche territory with regards to the design and interior features.

Too bad EV don't come with a sunroof that actually opens.

I think it's better that it doesn't open. The hinge mechanism and the sealing around the hatch opening are prone to wear. When they wear just a tiny bit, enough to not fully be water tight, you'll end with water in your car and it's quite hard to pin-point from where it came.
Also, the drainage ducts will get clogged overtime and maintaining them is quite a hassle because small debris or leaves getting inside will sometimes leave this weird odour in the cockpit.
