And they fid this without any promotion outside Asia . Bigbang didnt colab with western artists to enter the marked , didnt go on tv shows in US , didnt do covers , dudnt try at all .
GD collaborated with a few before collabs were the thing.. Check out his collab with Missy Elliot for one. Bigbang did perform on am tv in the US. They did not "try hard" like the newer breed groups you're right.. They didn't need to, they're in a league of their own.

Big Bang are the Beatles of Korea. BTS has beat world records by the Beatles so internationally they would be bigger than the Beatles. But Big Bang has heavily influenced all k-pop and other Asian pop groups. At least one member of most 5:04 other groups would say that they looked up to a member of Big Bang. They paved the way within Korea in order for BTS to pave the way internationally. Had Big Bang not been on hiatus for 7 years, K-pop probably would be very different now. He's also a fashion designer, and was the only Asian person in attendance at many high profile fashion events and shows, he was a muse of the creative director of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, he partnered with Nike for his clothing brand PEACEMINUSONE, collaborated with many widely influential artists both in Asia and the Western markets (Missy Ellliot, for example), and created the Para-noise Airforce 1 design.

When I introduce Kpop I always start with Big Bang they were big in the day with my family. And almost crying when we saw attended Taeyang in concert a few weeks ago. They are at the top of our playlist. At all our functions it’s all Big Bang! Absolute Legends ! Out west we don’t compare Korean Idols to West pop stars. They are on another level especially when it comes to their live performances as well. At the concert my nephews 26,20,18 and 16 sang all the songs almost cried. I think scared the people around us cos they were all 6ft non Asians.

The black haired one is Daesung, and the blonde one is Taeyang, and they are incredible vocalists. G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung have all led successful solo careers in music and T.O.P. is now an actor, you've probably seen him in Squid Game season 2, if you watch it.
