Best Garlic Shrimp Recipe ...quick and easy

  • Try this super-quick and delicious garlic shrimp recipe. Lots of olive oil and garlic add great flavor, especially when served with fresh sliced bread. Cook the shrimp quickly in a hot skillet, but
don't overcook! Overcooked shrimp can get rubbery, so the total cooking time for this dish is about 5 minutes from start to finish.

    Garlic Shrimp Recipe Ingredients:
    2 lbs SHRIMP
    ½ cup OLIVE OIL
½ cup GARLIC ...or as much as you like (finely chopped)
    1 tsp RED PEPPER FLAKES
    2 tsp PAPRIKA
    SALT and PEPPER to taste
    3-5 Tbsp LEMON JUICE
    ½ cup PARSLEY (chopped)
    sliced BREAD for sure, dude
    Garlic Shrimp Recipe Directions:
Peel and devein the shrimp (save the shells and heads to make a stock!)
Heat olive oil in a skillet on medium high heat.
When oil is hot, add red pepper flakes. Red pepper flakes add a nice heat, but substitute fresh peppers, or even a little cayenne if you like.
Add garlic and saute for 1 minute. Use as much garlic as you like. I prefer lots of garlic. I literally used an entire bulb. It seems like a lot, but the oil and garlic are gonna taste great when paired with thick slices of fresh bread.
Add the shrimp, and continue sauteing on medium high heat.
Once the shrimp hits the pan, it'll only take about 3 minutes to cook. Don't overcook the shrimp; they will become rubbery if cooked overly long.
Add paprika, and salt and pepper to taste.
Saute shrimp until just cooked, when shrimp begin to color and curl, then remove the skillet from the heat.
Add lemon juice and fresh chopped parsley.
Mix well and serve in a bowl with thick slices of fresh bread.
Give this garlic shrimp recipe a try and let me know what you think...and bon appétit!

I was visiting Louisiana last summer and drove down south to try my luck at fishing. I stopped at a canal and tossed in my cast net. Caught a huge carp and a few shrimp. A local was watching and came over to see what I had. I was especially happy about the shrimp. He said if you want shrimp you need to go out to that point about two miles away. He said take my boat and go get us some shrimp. I was out there about an hour and caught nearly a five gallon bucket full. When i got back he took about a quart of the shrimp. We smoked a couple of joints and I headed back to the campground for the shrimp feast of my life. Love them people in southern Louisiana.

Delicious, I made my share of changes but your concept steered me in the right direction. I also used fresh Cilantro towards the end instead of Parsley. My garlic came from a big jar of chopped garlic from Costco. and my lemon came in liquid form from Walmart. But worked just fine. I probably cooked it longer than necessary because I needed to cook it down as I also used white wine. But the Shrimp wasn't reduced to rubber. It's a winner dude. Easy to prep for company.

I just wanted to know that do you invite other people to eat ? Because I curiously wanted to know that when Americans go out for dinner at restaurants or other people's house is it because they want just to go out and socialize or is it because you care about the taste and the food ? Let me know ?

Thank you Chef Buck. I'm not much of a seafood guy, but my wife is. Can't remember how I ended up watching this video, but she caught me watching it "I NEED to have that!". So we made it tonight. Used about 20% less garlic, but still a good amount. Came out wonderfully. I appreciate your sharing, thank you. I would also say that I don't think I would have liked it as much if I'd used less garlic. With these quantities everything was really well balanced. This dish has made it to our regular "easy and yummy" list.

@@audreyluna6023 omg dude....i have made it several times now....and feel free to tweak it how u like but what i found works AWESOME for my shitty ass glass stovetop is getting the cast iron pan on high JUST until it starts to turn pink 50%, stirring constantly but slowly and gently to evenly cook.....then finish on low heat because it's almost done hun! I have never ever in any testaurant tasted shrimp so tender (i worked in some fancy ones too and even we didn't get treated to such soft shrimp.) DON'T overcook. When you think it "is probably not done yet but looks good", remove from heat IMMEDIATELY and cut one to see. I'll bet ot will be done. If not you can guage but it's lightning fast.
Btw....i also infused a personal helping w thc using a little weed olive oil and it is SO FIRE. All the seasonings completely worked well. The meal really turned out so good I have done it several times.....honestly prolly a lil different each time but it's always so good. Do NOT OVERCOOK the shrimp. If it is not nearly butter soft it's probably overcooked
