that kind of childish joyful inappropriate mannerism is part of her character and madness. jinx is the kind of person who would kill you with a bomb hidden in a cake, and still make sure the cake looks and taste good.
@@niscent_ Oo, we can kinda see this when she redirects the grey up into piltover, but with soo many colours, she just does things with such style and i love that
Don't forget that Smeech was there FOR JINX. And what part of Jinx's song plays from Sevika's new arm? "Do you ever wanna catch me? Right now I'm feeling ignored" as Smeech is COMPLETELY ignoring Jinx who is standing in the background just watching the fight. Pretty neat detail!
I love how Savika goes from being annoyed to having fun after getting on a roll, it makes sense since every time we see her outside of work she's gambling. Jinx knows she enjoys gambling and probably made the arm with that in mind. Ok someone else already said literally the same thing lol
@@AmazingMrMe123Im just scared what that means to the character web as a whole. Jinx a Zaunite willing to die tries to clean up her mess before she goes. Viktor a Zaunite willing to die tries to clean up his mess because he couldn’t die. Vi a Piltovian willing to cause death but she couldn’t because she is a Zaunite. Cait a Piltovian willing to cause death but she couldn’t because of love. What is terrifying about this is the fact that the web stays intact, however with Mel pushed into Piltovian territory and Ambessa taking over as the corrupting force of Noxus, leading something in while also trying to find something. We basically now have a character overload, even though we have more deaths than ever (Silco, all the Chembarones, most of the council etc)/incapacitations (Mel, Jayce, Heimerdinger and Ekko). This is basically the equivalent of „its always quiet before the storm“. And we already had so many deaths its insane.
I absolutely love both Sevika and Jinx....dont see them as villains either...jusdt people fighting back against decades of oppression also that little girl hugging Jinx...super cute and Sevikas " we dont give up our people"while Vi is like "yeah we do kill my sister " I could never...I have little sis with schizophrenia and its very hard she can be reckless and violent but I know that all she needs is love and therapy... I could NEVER say that she is not my sister anymore, even if she nukes the government( which in my country would be a good thing actually :D lol) I just cant believe that Vi hates her soo much...wasnt she the one who wanted to see piltover suffer for everything they have done in s1? I dont know I dont like Vi anymore and Caitlyn is even worse , killing children eventhough she knows that they suffer ..or does she? since she has been living in her castle and never had hard life
@ Vi says what Cait needs to hear, because she loves Cait. She btw still loves her sister because she wants to kill Jinx (not Powder) so Jinx cannot tarnish the memories of her sister anymore. Now with Caitlyn gone she will absolutely search for Powder again. Up until she sees that Caitlyn absolutely will kill anybody who crosses the bridge ever again (because of Ambessa at which point all of them will either join forces or die like the Chembarons).
One thing that i found interesting is that, as jinx gets closer with sevika after silcos death, caitlyn gets further from vi after her mother meeting the same fate
I mean one killed her own father by accident the other was in the same room as the attack launches and had to watch helplessly how the attack is going to kill her mother whilst she is voting for peace. Plus she could've caught Jinx before all that if it werent for VI. but I get what you mean
the slot machine is litteraly YOU CANNOT PREDICT WHAT I WILL DO WHEN I DONT KNOW WHAT IM DOING also the minigame in league is called "jinx fixes everything" but the fixes is scribbled over "ruins" in spray paint and litteraly the current first thing you do in the minigame is build the arm for sevika
@@lachlankidd6517 isn't "ruins" scribbled over with "fixes" and "fixes" is scribbled over "ruins" the same thing? maybe they edited their comment to the correct one idk
i love how you pointed out jinx's energy shift. i feel like she's finally starting to move past the age that she was stunted at. i say *starting to* cause we still see it in certain contexts (mostly when it come to vi which makes sense), but she's starting to move on and im so fucking excited
She’s finally starting to mature! I think it’s because she no longer has a parental figure to latch onto. After their parents death, she latched onto Vi and was unhealthily attached to her. Then it was Silco. And now that both of those figures in her life are gone because of her own actions, she’s becoming more self aware and growing up.
Jinx and Sevika teaming up is genius. Since the beginning, Sevika has been loyal to the cause and loyal to the people of Zaun. She even told the Chembarons that they don’t offer up their own people. But Jinx becoming a symbol is something that Vander and Silco couldn’t do. I think Jinx is about to give Sevika a sense of hope that she hasn’t genuinely felt yet.
What Jinx does is push Zaunites to use their own creativity and resilience to thrive in their own way. Unlike Vander who just wanted to maintain the status quo and Silco who wanted to be granted sovereignty and access to the hexgates (thus creating a "partnership" with Piltover), Jinx provides a third alternative - revolution. She is the darker, more blunt form of the "progress" that Piltover loves to praise. Why negotiate with the oppressor? They've been keeping their foot on your neck for years, forcing the people there to struggle to breathe. It's not enough to be "granted" your sovereignty - Zaun will be formed no matter what Piltover has to say about it. They aren't getting a choice. Jinx's solution is, quite literally, to "show them all" what Zaun can truly be.
That was the moment that I confirmed to myself how genius Jinx is. Like imagine if she had access to Piltover culture, education, and materials ? She is truly the voice of her generation fr. We talking about a gambling weapon ? The fact that it’s purely based on luck and adaptation is also so Sevika coded and absolutely cool ? Sis is a STEAM girlie. Edit: Actually thanks people for calling me in to add an 'A' to the STEM part lmao, never knew that was an actual thing before. For me, STEM people are actually pretty creative and innovative in what they do in general so that was obvious
Jinx added the slot machine cause she knew Sevika liked to gamble. They have their differences, but the fact that Jinx added that in is cute; she didn't need to do that but did it cause of Sevika. Everything else about the arm IS VERY Jinx but from what we know she isn't into gambling.
This fight really was just a dark comedy double act with Sevika playing the "straight man" and Jinx as "funny man" And it now makes thematic sense to me why Sevika didn't use her arm's powers in the EP 3 fight. Who would have wanted to see silly gacha game in the middle of the sisters actually coming to blows (and also our scientists encountering... whatever the hell that was)? 😂
@@bradhoefler8650 so it seems Sevika found a way to use the powers without the slots? I mean, it makes sense that Jinx would make some way to manually activate each ability of the arm. I imagine it's some form of debug mode that she had done even before gifting the arm to Sevika, to test it out, but that she also made accessible through a perfectly understandable panel with each mechanic listed. Problem is, Sevika, being the serious ogre she is, just went and asked "So I'm going to have to gamble every time I want to use this arm? What if we're in actual danger?" And then Jinx just goes "You need glasses, big lady? There's a whole panel in the back, spin that arm around! Silly, got no form at all."
I was genuinely surprised when it was revealed that Jinx was actually preparing a genuine gift instead of an elaborate bomb with a ribbon attached to it 😅
I loved Smeech's design and mannerisms. His spider-like climbing, his head and limbs spinning unnecessarily. I was really hoping he'd be sticking around. But then I think about it, and he's basically another anchor to Sevika's past. The way his limbs use jerky, sharp-angled motions to prop himself up is exactly like how Sevika used her arm in the fight against Vi. Sevika rejecting his offer for a new arm really cements her commitment to moving forward, aligning herself to Jinx instead of the past.
I noticed that he was laughing once he saw what Sevika's new arm looked like, cause he's comparing it to his own tech that he's been providing her with for years. My only question is what is she going to do, once she needs a functional hand. Jinx's gift while clearly thought out and well meant, didn't seem to take that into account.
I'm surprised you didn’t talk about the opening! It highlights how these two have to team up because of the pressures from the world around them. Jinx starts off being pinned to a wall because she can't physically compete with Smeech's chemtech enhanced goons, and she's been disarmed of her weapon. She's helpless. Meanwhile, Sevika misses every shot she makes with Jinx's pistol (although, just barely) because she no longer has the means to fight hand to hand effectively. She's powerless to change the situation. Neither of them of them were going to win their fight alone. They only had a chance if they supported the other, which is symbolized in how they simultaneously tossed each other their weapon of choice. They covered the other's weaknesses and empowered them with the agency they needed to accomplish their goals. In short: they make a great team. And their gonna need each other to defeat their more powerful, organized enemy factions (like the Enforcers and the chembarons). Enemy of my enemy.
I did not really noticed it the first time, but Jinx's behavior in this scene actually look a lot more like her behavior in LoL's short films, in contrary to the first season. And like you said, it seems it is highly influence by the fact she interact with the people around. Also, Welcome back !
i think this relates to her behaviour past trauma, where she was happy-go-lucky and sassy and all until she basically wasn't allowed to anymore, so this is like she's becoming "childlike" again, in fact, her true self, the kid she was never allowed to be.
I love the idea of Ekko fighting against this if it has a probabilistic element to it (yes, I'm a computer scientist) and turning back cannot predict it because it's non-deterministic.
One of the things I like most about this scene is this feeling of bonding that's going on between Jinx and Sevika as they essentially explore this crazy contraption of hers together. Of course this is in the context of Sevika choosing to uphold this sense of Undercity solidarity that feels really genuine because of their animosity toward each other. In season 1 she often seemed like she couldn't wait to get rid of Jinx and would do almost anything to make it happen. To me this arc they're going on together makes me think that scene in season 1 where Sevika tells Silco to give Jinx time and space to come back to him on her own, yes she was acting in the way she would otherwise, trying to get Silco to stop thinking about Jinx and get back on task, but she did it from a place of getting Jinx more after emotionally manipulating her and now that Silco's dead she feels like Jinx is all that's left to work with, the only somehow genuine person in this den of vipers looking to screw everyone else over for personal gain. And as we know from the trailers, later considers Jinx to be a key figure, capable of rallying the Underground together in a way no one could before, whether she likes it or not. So ultimately, this is more than just a fun, awesome fight scene, it's the genesis of a whole new movement in Zaun! All based on an unlikely partnership...
I agree she’s definitely about the old guard with vander, benzo and silco (even in an opposing sense Grayson), they’ve definitely been through an event similar to the events of arcane (probably all orphaned which why we don’t see any elderly grandparents, but it’s interesting she’s the only person who mentioned hers) which is why loyalty means a lot to them. Although I do think that even though in season one she thought Jinx was a problem, she would have had qualms about handing her over to Piltover as a way to deal with her. As even when she was backing Vander her Rhetoric was never about giving the kids up but dealing with the consequences and fighting back/uniting Zaun when piltover was walking all over them.
As soon as I saw this scene I was like alright Schnee is gunna love this, and it’s the first thing you post about season 2!! I have watched this scene soooooo many times, the duo (trio?) I didn’t know I needed, plus the music 👌🏼
This season has a lot of examples of showing development directly with characters’ bodies literally implementing something symbolic. What Wander could we get if we mixed Old Wander + Singed blood, what New Sevica could we get if we mixed Old Sevica + Jinx made arm, what New Victor would we get if we mixed Old Victor + Hextech. This is the season of fusing archetypes and getting more complex ones. And I love it so much!!!
5 points you like about one scene would be so fun to watch as a regular format! I'm so excited to catch every single on of your upcoming videos on Arcane S2!!! Thanks!
I like how your first season 1 video was about the Jinx vs. Ekko fight, and your first season 2 video is about one of the best fights so far from this season.
3:02 along with Season 2 Act 1, riot released an in-client game called "Jinx Fixes Everything", in which you play as Jinx fixing Sevika's arm. i just now realized the significance that title.
The thing that really gets me is the music in the scene; It starts off typically enough, but when Sevika first puts the arm on and fires it up it gets extra orchestral and dramatic for the slow motion shot, reinforcing that Sevika is back to full power. Then when she activates the slot machine for the first time we get an almost literal drum roll, with extra drums, building up hype for when it actually fires... and then the music cuts out entirely in favour of get Jinxed. And that's what's playing through the next phase of the fight, while Sevika gets to grips with an arm that she can't predict and can barely control; half the time she seems to be practically wrestling with it, and Jinx's chaos is literally setting the tone for the fight. The original music only reappears after she finally figures out how to work with it and disarms Smeech, and effectively gets back to business as usual with her new weapon on her side.
when i saw the scene i thought: the slot machine arm is just so unreliable and spontaneous and its so utterly JINX and sevika is forced to adapt to that spontaneity and unreliability and make it work to her strengths. idk maybe its an analogy, a parallel to their relationship? hear me out bro
Yeah, Sevika is totally playing along with Jinx just like she did with Silco, but it's definitely not aimless or out of habit, there's a plan there. We hear her in the trailer say Jinx is a symbol now, with a tone that makes me think that's what she wanted with the context of the first 3 episodes.
The thing that intrigues me about the focus on Sevika’s cybernetics in episode 3 is that both her old arm from Silco and her new one from Jinx represent a different type of addiction. The arm she gets on Silco’s payroll lets her massively boost her physical strength at the press of a button, but requires her to flood her body with the incredibly hazardous Shimmer to do so and it still fails to measure up to Vi’s Hextech Gauntlets. It asks her to destroy her body to get an edge and yet still can’t close the gap between her and a well-equipped Pilty. The arm Jinx builds for her is overloaded with incredibly useful weapons but is so randomised that it forces Sevika to depend heavily on blind luck to actually get any use out of it. She can do nothing but pray every time she relies on it that it’ll give her an actual solution to her problem and not just more dead weight to lug around. If Sevika is meant to represent the common folk of Zaun and these two arms are meant to represent the ways Zaun’s potential leaders intend to uplift and empower the downtrodden, then the fact that both need Sevika to indulge in self-destructive vices like substance abuse and gambling to actually be useful might represent that neither can truly build anything to last. Silco’s empire crumbled the second he wasn’t there to micromanage it and Jinx is a creature of chaos who only ever builds when it’ll help her destroy more. I think Jinx might be a misdirect and Viktor is the real visionary and leader Zaunites like Sevika are looking for, and when she pledges loyalty to him he’ll reward her with a third and final cybernetic arm that will finally give her a straightforward upgrade instead of taking from her as much as it gives.
Speaking of a third arm, I was really surprised he didn't seem to take the laser arm from season 1 with him when he left, I was predicting it as a moment of connection to his life before the Hexcore. From what I remember it's a part of his League character design. Maybe he'll just make a new one, for me it made his sudden need to leave Piltover even more sudden since he didn't take something I expected him to at least look at before leaving.
I really love the part which shows Sevika's annoyed face when the mini speaker is blasting the Jinx theme song when Jinx is nodding her head & moving her body a little to show she is enjoying all of the chaos & how Sevika's mechanical arm switch weapon based on the slot that she will get 🎉🎰
So far is has been my favorite scene. The fun, the chaos, the expressions. It tells you so much without word vomit. I didn't think about the gambling aspect but that makes so much sense. Im so glad Season 2 is here but low key I found your channel through season 1 and I loved hearing your analyst videos. It's given me a lot to think about and cant wait to see more!
I didn’t see anyone mention it but it’s so cool how Power’s monkey bomb is how Sevika lost her on in the first place then she makes her her new arm (they’re so dysfunctional found family coded!!)
I agree, absolutely my favorite fight scene in this show and maybe I have ever seen in a while. It's fun and the choreography is incredible. So happy you made a video about it.
OMG at 1:48 where you used the example of luffy putting the zombie back in the ground was so accurate. I laughed so hard in that moment and I distinctly remember it being funny to me because it was so absurd but at the same time extremely true to how Luffy would actually act.
I actually thought about how every time sevika loses her arm it’s normally in the same episode the person she was working with dies and the next person she works with replaces her arm vander died when she loses her biological arm and silco gives her a new one silco dies the same episode she loses her arm against vi then she starts working with jinx and then jinx replaces her arm
Ooh I can't wait for the new videos & discussion! S2 is shaping up to be exactly like we've come to expect: surprising and deeply logical on a character level. In particular, they did the best thing they could with Jinx's arc by simply giving her a kid, and at the same time I would've never guessed she would be in this place as a character based on s1 alone! Now I can see her not just being a symbol, but *accepting* being a symbol, which is wild. I'm sure you'll have a field day with... well, the entire season!
Its such a good way to put a break, but not really in a really dark part of the story. Somehow they managed to make me really like Smeech, but also not care that hes literally dying. I like that they put so much into characters they kill after only being around a short while. Usually you can tell what characters live or die by their designs, but complicated designs dont always equate to survival in Arcane. I love it.
Smeech is one of my favorite character designs in the show so far, and one of my favorite secondary characters, and yet I don't really miss him in the story. He seems to have been the only one willing to go for Jinx, and with what she's done along with him gone the part of the story he moved forward has already passed. It feels pretentious to phrase it like this, but I'm at peace with him being gone despite how charming he was, which is kinda hard to do for a lot of characters without making them completely unreasonable or unlikeable.
@@boppertron4929 THIS!!! to me he's done his part in the story and we're just ready.... that's kinda my same sentiment towards Silco, who was a character i really liked despite being a "villain" don't get me wrong, i totally understand how other fans or even the characters themselves feel the loss and the absence of him is brutal, heavy, almost palpable, but i feeel like his departure was necessary in order for the story to move forwards, and specially for Jinx to develop as a character, even though she had already lost a father figure, she wasn't much of "her own person" yet, although it would be very interesting to see how the story would have panned out had Silco stayed alive... i think this was the right call and right moment to let go of him! (but i loved him!)
I adore how the two tracks that are playing are fighting over control, until Sevika finally decides to go with it and then it’s just Jinx’s song. It’s such good story telling. I also like how this is jinx sorta trying to get sevika to see eye to eye with her, from letting her experience how she sees combat
Welcome Back Schnee! Genuis video as always. This fight was so important for Sevika's clarity. Remember Smeech (according to his claims) deals the best prosthetic weapon's and upgrades in the business. He would have no doubt had the best gear and he's honestly very skilled - having staggered Sevika, using her arm without the gambling. This scene establishes that not only is the arm random, but it can beat out a top of the line kit, made with the specific intent to kill.
5:05 that could actually be her role in the season because not only this scene but with the announcement of that new game where Jinx goes around fixing things could really show that her role is to fix mistakes and not to mention how one of the VAs mentioned one of the themes for this season being redemption, making this theory fit perfect to me
i've been rewatching all your videos from arcane season 1, its so great to not only have another season of arcane but also have your arcane videos to watch
What I love most about your videos is that they articulate the things that we intuit about the show in a way for us to understand ourselves. I'm not saying you're "telling us what we already know" or anything, but for me, I feel like when we watch the show, we get to experience the way these storytelling techniques and visual techniques function on an emotional level - then when I watch your videos its like the trick is revealed. I watch and I'm like "Oh my word, yesss, this is why it makes sense", literally like magic. It lets me fully and more deeply appreciate how the show is put together. Like for example you could just feel how much more "put together" Jinx is now, how much calmer as opposed to the erratic, batshit "crazy" Jinx in the first season, especially after they gave her a whole monologue to start the episode, starting with "Well, it's all going to shit." Now watching this, it starts to make sense when you connect this Jinx to the Jinx that killed Silco, that killed half the council, that sat in the Jinx chair opposite Vi. You kind of put words to the feeling so that we can understand our own feelings. Idk if I'm stating the obvious here but basically I love your videos and thank you for your content!
Your analysis makes this show so much better for me. You highlight details I miss when watching and it motivates me to search for smaller details in every scene since it is so rewarding to do for this show!
Absolutely obsessed with this fight and everything you said is ABSOLUTELY correct, I hadn't thought about the introduction of chaos being a major element for sevika and how that was her weakness before, showing that Sevika and Jinx are officially going to work together? Like Jinx making the arm for Sevika was not only Jinx apologizing to her, but also making Sevika more understanding of Jinx's strategy as well, while also catoring to Sevika's interest in gambling. I adore that it is a *gamblers arm* specifically, its the perfect marriage of Sevika's and Jinx's styles and characteristics. I will say that I wish you had mentioned Smeech in this fight, I think he as a character and as a fighter also contributed alot to what made this fight fun? He was purely characterized before this fight, with an entire two scenes of focus, specifically so that he would be an impactful opponent, and he definitely was. I love his mannerisms through the fight and how fast, desperate, and unpredictable he was, and I truly think that sevika, even with her old arm fully intact, would have lost the fight if she didn't have the gambler arm. I think introducing chaos into her fighting style was actually THE reason she won this fight, because before that, Sevika was fully understood and predictable to Smeech. He cornered and embarrassed her in front of the remaining counsel earlier in the episode, because he was confident that he understood Sevika enough to not be endangering himself with his ego. When the gambler arm is introduced, the fight immediately shifts, and he spends the rest of the fight confused and on the defensive. He isn't a gambler, he's a business man, and his entire concern is with building a stable gang, so he didn't enter this fight as a gamble, but as a calculated attack on Jinx. The odds were in his favor, until Sevika surrendered to pure chance. (Also I just love his fighting style and the desperation in it later into the fight, he's such an ugly hate-able character and that ugliness and hate-ability is executed well enough that we do see him as a threat but we also do not root for him at all against Sevika)
I'm so ecstatic about what videos you might make about season two (and possibly about the seasons in relation to eachother & how 2 changes/confirms what we thought about 1 👀), I've spent the past couple months rewatching all your season one content and it got me so hyped!!!! I love what you have to say about the series - sharing the excitement and love for this show through analysis & appreciation has been one of my favorite parts of it all for sure :)
Yay new schnee arcane analysis! I’ve missed these in their peak, hope you’re loving the new season with us all! I’m sure you are, it’s just SOOOO good!!!!
As much as I love Arcane and have been really looking forward to season 2, but I think just as much I have been looking forward to see your videos on season 2. And here you are with such a great video.
Thank you!!! After trying to analyze the new episodes in schnee-fashion, I've been waiting four days for schnee to drop a perfectly articulated analysis on something I hadn't even thought of (a scene that felt a little out of place until now).
I literally have been refraining from watching other Arcane videos!!! Thank you, I enjoyed! I saw Sevika and Jinx's fight as the girl boss combo we weren't expecting~😂
I can't wait for your video essays on Arcane season 2. This season has an interesting tonal shift, including way more fun music and art changes in the opening scene of each episode (and the creepy doctor closing scenes too). While I was watching the 3 episodes so far I kept thinking to myself "What would schnee think of this? how would schnee analyze this?".
I love how when I first started watching this channel it was after I had already watched arcane season one, and I was discovering so much about how it was constructed and why it was so good, but now watching season two I actually noticed some of the things he was talking about in this video as I watched the show, (before watching this video), meaning I’ve actually been learning so much about this stuff and not just noticing it when it’s pointed out to me and that feels so cool.
Also Sevika is incredibly loyal and she lost her arm for silko who gave her a simple efficient one relying on purple energy assumable shimmer, representing silko himself and her loyalty to him, so this is just the natural transition becoming the right arm or jinx
Jinx having living her whole life fractured, giving Sevika a level of wholeness that Silco could never give either of them, and that Jinx could never give herself, it's beautiful. And it's this incredible picture of Jinx being able to be whole now. Having decided to be Jinx, she can start to integrate Powder. Powder at her core is curiosity and tinkering, and Jinx is at her core chaos and tragedy. When she's Powder, Jinx breaks her down. But when she's Jinx, Powder ELEVATES her! She actually has a chance to be WHOLE now! (a *chance*, whether it happens or not depends on her choices moving forward)
Jinx is one of my favourite fictional characters from anything ever and i am so excited to see her grow into an even more cool and complex character. the writing on this show is completely unmatched, arcane will forever be my favourite TV series of all time.
Love how you explained the change in Jinx this season! She had such a wow factor i didn't really connect to Jinx before, but I couldn't put my finger on why that was, until now. Her presence is haunting, and she feels more threatening for it somehow. Can't wait to see if you're right about the healing theme, that would be beautiful.🎉
Extremely good vid! I like about the scene too is the small little smile of the girl. The way how Jinx shtops her malicious smirk of the fight to look a bit jokingly questioning to the girl when she avoided some splatter.
it's insane how I'm not only hyped for the new acts to drop but also your analysis on it, no spoilers but the things with viktor? hextech? ambessa? what the hell the black rose is? side note I was GIGGLING like a child when the old jinx song came on, legit "EHEAHEHEAAE THEY DID THE THINGGGGGGG" god I love your videos so much
As soon as I saw the fight, I was SO EXCITED FOR THIS EXACT VIDEO!!!! My immediate reaction was “omg, Schnee is going to LOVE this!” 🥳😍🥰✨👍🏻 Thanks for delivering!!! 😁🧧🎉
Something that I noticed about season 2 in comparison to season 1 is that it is also structurally the opposite. In season 1, the majority of the time, if the characters wanted a thing then they would get it and the conflict came from that blowing up in their faces. The other characters accidentally enabled everyone to get done what needed to be done. Caitlyn helped Vi find Jinx. Vi helped Jayce storm Silco's facilities. Jayce bought the hextech crystals and inadvertently caused the whole first act of the plot to happen. Even when a character lost a fight or argument someone else we cared about would win. In season 2, everyone is tripping everyone else up from getting anything done. Mel says that she won't corrupt Jayce (and Vickor's?) dream but then Jayce immediately corrupts his dream as soon as Caitlyn asks. Vi joins the enforcers out of guilt even though she really doesn't want to. No one wins in the final conflict. Jayce teams up with Ekko and Heimerdinger, which is an exception. No one accidentally helped each other in the bridge sequence that had the Ekko/Jinx fight in season 1. Not sure that I'm overthinking everything.
I absolutely loved this fight and every single interaction! Love when Sevika all the "really ?" looks she gives Jinx whenever a new feature that annoys her pops up XD Also love Jinx and Isha bonding when Jinx shoots one of the henchmen, seeing that Isha threw her grenade at him and you can see her being unsure if Jinx will yell or encourage her efforts and, in classic Jinx fashion, she throws up a finger gun and poofs (very cute moment) and Isha smirks.
Jinx knows Sevika likes to Gamble, so the slot machine I thought was a subtle nod that Jinx was putting a lot of care into Sevika's arm, Wanting to improve her Arm adding some Jinx flare, but also adding things which Jinx sees Sevika as, A Gambler. The Fact Jinx wrapped up the Arm with a Bow, shows how Jinx actually sees Sevika, she is an extension of Silco, She is like an Aunt.
When the world needs him most, HE RETURNED
FOR REAL
Finally 😂
When the world schneeded him the most, Schnee returned.

I find it extremely cute how Jinx gift-wrapped that arm and tied pink ribbons around it like a birthday gift for Sevika.
yeah, and her little satisfied expressions when she looks down at the arm are so cutee

I believe I heard someone say: “The stepmother finally bonding with her stepdaughter” when it came to these two
Needed*?
Don't forget that Smeech was there FOR JINX. And what part of Jinx's song plays from Sevika's new arm? "Do you ever wanna catch me? Right now I'm feeling ignored" as Smeech is COMPLETELY ignoring Jinx who is standing in the background just watching the fight. Pretty neat detail!
i cant believe arcane is making me like the get jinxed song but its just so well implented
The amount of masterful storytelling details in this show is crazy
Also, that's the part of the song that WOULD have played if Silco didn't turn off her music in episode 4 when he's yelling at her.
"can you try a little harder! I really getting bored!"
@@moscardonexe2783wdym? The song is an absolute banger
I love how Savika goes from being annoyed to having fun after getting on a roll, it makes sense since every time we see her outside of work she's gambling. Jinx knows she enjoys gambling and probably made the arm with that in mind.
Ok someone else already said literally the same thing lol
Its merges the two halves of her. Before her work and her fun were totally separate. In this scene it combines.
Sevika just found a new master to serve and that’s so fitting of her name.
One thing that i found interesting is that, as jinx gets closer with sevika after silcos death, caitlyn gets further from vi after her mother meeting the same fate

i love how you pointed out jinx's energy shift. i feel like she's finally starting to move past the age that she was stunted at. i say *starting to* cause we still see it in certain contexts (mostly when it come to vi which makes sense), but she's starting to move on and im so fucking excited
Well we do know what happens if she had Piltover materials, the Super Mega Death Rocket.

i already know the writers had a BLAST brainstorming this fight
Jinx added the slot machine cause she knew Sevika liked to gamble. They have their differences, but the fact that Jinx added that in is cute; she didn't need to do that but did it cause of Sevika. Everything else about the arm IS VERY Jinx but from what we know she isn't into gambling.
This fight really was just a dark comedy double act with Sevika playing the "straight man" and Jinx as "funny man"
And it now makes thematic sense to me why Sevika didn't use her arm's powers in the EP 3 fight. Who would have wanted to see silly gacha game in the middle of the sisters actually coming to blows (and also our scientists encountering... whatever the hell that was)? 😂
we do see some of the powers (such as the punch glove) during the fight, just not the slot machine actually being used.
What if we're in actual danger?"
And then Jinx just goes "You need glasses, big lady? There's a whole panel in the back, spin that arm around! Silly, got no form at all."
@@leonardocouto3109 No it's just that the slot machine happened and we don't get to see it
I was genuinely surprised when it was revealed that Jinx was actually preparing a genuine gift instead of an elaborate bomb with a ribbon attached to it 😅
I wouldn’t ignore the possibility that it could be a bomb as well LMAO
I loved Smeech's design and mannerisms. His spider-like climbing, his head and limbs spinning unnecessarily. I was really hoping he'd be sticking around.
But then I think about it, and he's basically another anchor to Sevika's past. The way his limbs use jerky, sharp-angled motions to prop himself up is exactly like how Sevika used her arm in the fight against Vi. Sevika rejecting his offer for a new arm really cements her commitment to moving forward, aligning herself to Jinx instead of the past.
I actually liked him too. His voice was...oddly soothing
I love the idea of Ekko fighting against this if it has a probabilistic element to it (yes, I'm a computer scientist) and turning back cannot predict it because it's non-deterministic.
that's SO COOL ACTUALLY??¹!! ENTROPY AS A MECHANIC IN ARCANE IS THE COOLEST IDEA I'VE HEARD
the Bob's Burgers scene you squeeze in there might be one of the scenes I've ever laughed as hard.
LITERALLY I was thinking the same thing😂😂
9:01 hell yeah screw structure I’m here for schnee rambles about arcane!!!
3:15 THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID WHEN I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE SCENE WITH SOMEONE! Jynx gave Sevika the one thing she would never give herself; CHAOS.
And they usually mix the pure opposites btw, which is even cooler
5 points you like about one scene would be so fun to watch as a regular format! I'm so excited to catch every single on of your upcoming videos on Arcane S2!!! Thanks!
I loved jinx's little dance to the music haaa haaa. The whole scene was a joy. Great breakdown schnee, many thanks.
WELCOME BACK MAN THERE'S SO MUCH TO COVER, I am sooo excited to listen to your analysis of this season
Was literally checking each day to see when we finally get started with these! Yaaaayyy
It's given me a lot to think about and cant wait to see more!
this fight genuinely had me standing up and cheering. to get to understand it on a deeper level like this makes it even better so thank you
I didn’t see anyone mention it but it’s so cool how Power’s monkey bomb is how Sevika lost her on in the first place then she makes her her new arm (they’re so dysfunctional found family coded!!)
Absolutely love the use of chiptunes (I.e. retro 8 bit sound effects) for the arm effects.

I can't wait for your video essays on Arcane season 2. While I was watching the 3 episodes so far I kept thinking to myself "What would schnee think of this? how would schnee analyze this?".
Yippiee! I've been looking for your take every day since s2 aired >.

Never even considered some of these points. Retroactively made this scene even better for me! Thank you!

We needed more Smeech! That cybernetic furball was just dripping personality
Dude im so glad you posted, I love your video explanations so much.
Between that and the hexglitch this season already bears impressive flourishes
Best part of Arcane season 2 besides it being Arcane season 2 is the return of the king !!!!!!
I was waiting for you since s2 act1 came out!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Jinx is one of my favourite fictional characters from anything ever and i am so excited to see her grow into an even more cool and complex character. the writing on this show is completely unmatched, arcane will forever be my favourite TV series of all time.
Hey lookk my favorite youtuber is back! Wel come back snow =3
The part about the gambling... that's such a good point. Never thought about that. Great catch, ApexGate.
Extremely good vid!
I like about the scene too is the small little smile of the girl.
The way how Jinx shtops her malicious smirk of the fight to look a bit jokingly questioning to the girl when she avoided some splatter.
it's insane how I'm not only hyped for the new acts to drop but also your analysis on it, no spoilers but the things with viktor? hextech? ambessa? what the hell the black rose is?
side note I was GIGGLING like a child when the old jinx song came on, legit "EHEAHEHEAAE THEY DID THE THINGGGGGGG"
god I love your videos so much
As soon as I saw the fight, I was SO EXCITED FOR THIS EXACT VIDEO!!!! My immediate reaction was “omg, Schnee is going to LOVE this!” 🥳😍🥰✨👍🏻 Thanks for delivering!!! 😁🧧🎉
AHHH YESSS SCHNEE YOU'RE BACK!!! I've been waiting for your thoughts on Arcane S2! You just made my day. I love LOVE your vids on Arcane. Thank you!
Not sure that I'm overthinking everything.
how i've missed your analysis of arcane let's fucking gooooo
We are so back!!
Amazing analyzing as always
Was waiting for your videooss.
Happy that you covered my most rewatched scene. Jinx expressions are ICONIC in this, fortiche is the best!!
Ah yes, the "I want be part of your symphony" fight
I absolutely loved this fight and every single interaction! Love when Sevika all the "really ?" looks she gives Jinx whenever a new feature that annoys her pops up XD
Also love Jinx and Isha bonding when Jinx shoots one of the henchmen, seeing that Isha threw her grenade at him and you can see her being unsure if Jinx will yell or encourage her efforts and, in classic Jinx fashion, she throws up a finger gun and poofs (very cute moment) and Isha smirks.
I've literally been checking your channel every day to see when you'll upload something about arcane, ss usual you did not disappoint.
I can't wait for more of your theory analysis videos on season 2!! The show becomes 10 times more fun to watch with every video 💕💖✨💖💕💖💕✨💖💕💖💕✨💖💕💖
WELCOME BACK TO ARCANE SHNEE IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU 🙏🙏🙏
