A wind screen can be a must. I dislike carrying around the cans of fuel. So I swapped out for and Esbit stove with fuel tabs.... and that lets me use anything burnable if I run out of fuel tabs. I also carry spare bic and ferro rod ( I need a new rod, mine is pretty much shot,) I have to have instant coffee both for drink, and for the coffee grounds in the mouth guard duty trick. add in a couple trail bars and done.
Love it, have nearly the exact set up for several years now but added a little scrubby pad. I need to copy those ranger bands, the large rubber bands I've been using just don't last.
I've used that stove for years and it just keeps working. Something to consider adding is a 3M scrubber pad under the fuel canister. My kit is a bit more extensive, yes I like your kit. Mine incorporates what you have plus a alcohol stove, aluminum foil for a wind screen, small Ferro rod, matches for nostalgia. I once carried the exact same kit as you and it did keep me alive on a winter canoeing trip that included getting wet, temps dropping below zero. That military sleep system just couldn't do it that night, used that stove off and on as a heater through the night until the sun came up. That night involved hogs, coyotes, a mountain lion and to top it off a freaking alligator. Lots of valuable lessons from that trip.
Very cool kit. I need to make the leap to the small gas stoves. I use an old military one with the canteen and it works but more time consuming. Good stuff Jay!
I have the same but in 1100ml and larger canister. It's all wrapped in a cloth, so it doesn’t bang around, and i don't use the stove case. Gives me a little extra room. Tip for the duct tape- fold over a small bit of the end to make it easier to unwrap, especially when cold out. Thanks for the great video!
Good evening Sir!! I love this kit, it’s brilliant and mine is similar! The little spork is amazing, never thought of that! Great stuff as always! Take care!!!
Thank you my friend! Yeah those little sporks are great to tuck away in kits. You never know when a meal will present itself! Hope you have a great week!
I guess if you wanted to maximize your space usage you could empty as many instant coffee packages as would fit inside into a ziploc bag together with a desiccant baggy, plus one of the packages cut to size as a measure for one serving. The same obviously works with bulk instant coffee, or loose black tea which also has caffeine but is less of a diuretic than coffee. Depending on how long you plan to stay out with this kit that might be overkill though.
Good stuff

I have had the same setup for a while now. Same pocket rocket from 15 years ago. Works great. Brew on boys!

Have almost an exact setup! I think there’s also a time and place for a solid fuel stove setup but these gas stoves are just darn convenient
I agree on the solid fuel option. The TPC Scout stove fits in the TOAKS 750ml pot perfectly as well as the canister stove setup.
Afternoon Jay. I have something similar in my bug Out bag great idea. Thanks for sharing atb sam 👍🇬🇧

Thank you Jay! I’ve been eyeing this exact stove.
Those little stoves just work! I have a few of them squirreled away.
@@themodernminuteman2557 Thanks buddy. I picked one up yesterday afternoon.

Good video. Will give it a try. Time permitting, can you do a video comparing the various backpacks that you have used and prefer?
Thanks! Sure, thats a good idea for a video. I do get a fair amount of questions on what packs I'm using in different videos.
