President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administers the oath of office to the Association of Philippine Journalists (APJ) - Samahang Plaridel Foundation Inc. in a ceremony at the Kalayaan Hall, Malacañan Palace on 2 August 2024.
Samahang Plaridel is an association of media practitioners and communications specialists founded in 2003 by veteran journalists with at least 20 years of experience.
The Association aims to uphold the fundamental freedom of the press, promote the dignity of the journalism profession and foster camaraderie, cooperation and understanding among journalists. It also works towards advancing the profession by advocating Marcelo H. del Pilar's principles of truth, fairness and impartiality as enshrined in democratic values, which are essential for a society that is acceptable to all Filipinos.
