My dog likes to chase toys but he doesn't like to chase kibble, he generally loves a game of catch with food, but he won't catch food until he's had the chance to sniff it and decide if he wants it or not
Have you tried providing their dinner in a stuffed kong, snuffle mat, food puzzle, or as a scatter feed in the garden? Ditching the bowl can be done in so many fun ways, its doesn't need to just be games.
