I wish long distance relationships were easier. When you fall for a girl who lives 3000 miles away from you, she's all you think about from dusk to dawn. You just wish you could do all these things that other couples do that live so close. But it's so hard! Being so far from the person you love and not being able to see them everyday, it's upsetting. But when the day comes, you get to see that special girl, hold her in your arms and tell her how much you love her as you stare deep into her eyes. Basically, long distance relationships are hard but when you guys get to finally meet, it will be rewarding.
+1. I met an American girl (I'm British) 5 years ago and we started dating. Being apart for up to 7 months at a time was horrible but when we did see each other it was amazing.
It also makes me incredibly happy to be able to tell you that girl is now my wife and the long distance relationship way behind us.
With long distance relationships, you can make it happen if you want it to happen.

I remember when this album came out. My dad and I were supposed to dance to this at my wedding. He passed last year and I will still be playing this at my wedding. It was our favorite song to listen too because he traveled constantly when I was younger. I used to feel like he was so far away from me, and now even as painful as it has been I feel like I don’t have to travel to see him or wait. Now I feel like he’s with me wherever I am.

this is so beautiful. It shows that any relationship, especially one with distance is not perfect. They have their moments of missing eachother, the good moments, and even their share of fights. But if two people truly love eachother, it can always work out! Love withstands everything.

There are many love songs that my boyfriend and I listen too and can resonate with, but none compare to this one. With half a country between us it is an uphill battle sometimes. No matter how many petty stupid fights we get into I will always wait for him to come home. This song never fails to make me cry because all I see is us.

I was stationed in Camp Pendleton when this song came out and my girlfriend at the time was in college in New York. Sticking that through was one of the most difficult and rewarding experiences of my life (the relationship I mean, not the military aspect). We were high-school sweethearts and each others first kiss, we had a lot of history even before I joined the Marines but damn if that wasn't hard. I was Marine in Cali surrounded by gorgeous women and she was a girl any man would be stoked to have surrounded by guys bound for success, the doubt and temptation was so real it almost ended our relationship multiple times. We would fight, miscommunicate and run out of things to talk about. It sucked so hard. But there were moments when we were the only people who remembered who we were back then, before we left home. She got me through some of the most physically and psychologically taxing seasons of my life. She stayed with me when I gave her every reason to leave. She was my 3,000 mile away anchor that kept me from drifting away from who I was. All that to say, this song always reminds me of our relationship.... Oh yeah, When I got out of the military we got married :)

This song reminds me of my bf. I live in the Philippines and he works in Europe. He would come home every Christmas. We cry everytime he leaves but we're so happy when he comes home. We always make time to talk,( thanks to technology), say our Good nights and good mornings everyday. Everytime I feel depressed or anxious, he has a way to calm me down. (he studied how to deal with me during those days). He's the best and I love him so much. He'll be going away in a couple of days again, and this song makes our hearts warm. 💗

I know the feeling all too well :/ having a long distance relationship is hard but even harder when yur family comes from the poor and she comes from the heights of Beverly hills. So everyday you try yur best to impress and make her smile. You dnt have a lot but you would do yur best to try and give what you have. Sometimes you ask yourself if you even deserve her or somedays you just want to tell her to not settle for less and go for someone who could support you in life. Even though it hurts, deep down yu still love them. No matter how far the distance, you would go to the end of the world to see them. Though you might have people who will laugh at you or call you desperate but you can always tell yourself that this feeling is real and you know that you want be with person, hug em, kiss em, and wake up in the morning to see their face. I think it's fine to want too be with someone you truly love. Of course there are all types of advice for love but not each and every advice is a bullseye, but some of them can be to certain people. I think this is the most awkward comment I have ever made in my life tbh

I’ve loved this album since it came out, at the time my dad was traveling constantly for work. It reminded me that home is wherever my family is. This song was supposed to be what I danced to with my dad at my wedding.
He passed last year and I played it while I said goodbye after his passing in the ICU. I know it is about a relationship partner but I relate/ have my own meaning for it. I haven’t listened to this song since 5/6/22 and I finally brought myself to listen and will always find comfort when I do.

My boyfriend and I met online three years ago and have been friends ever since. I kept this song in a play list for when he left on retreats and we couldn’t talk. We met a month ago for the first time, 1000 miles away from NY. I am transferring to a college 2 hours away from him and listened to this song while doing the application.
My point being, anyone who tells you long distance isn’t worth it is wrong. It can work out.

Is it bad that when I first listened to this song it was after my grandfather passed away? I'm not religious at all but it made me realize that it could go that way. That I know he will wait for me and my family. That he will be there for us if he wasn't so far away, and that he's in his forever home wherever that may be.
