Nobody in Hip-Hop as important as Tupac? Believe what you want, but that's practically shitting on guys like Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Eric B and Rakim, and NWA.
I fell in love with hip-hop when I first heard Dear Momma. I was a kid at the time but I got it and that was it for me. I had to know everything I could about him, learn his every song. Then I heard Rearview and Keep Your Head Up and so many others and I have to say he is still the most talented artist to me even to this day I first learned about Police brutality from Pac's music. So it's very sad to see it happening now over twenty years after his death.
I was 14 when 2pac died. I remember being at school when I got the news and it took every bit of strength to not breakdown when I got the news. Tupac taught me what rap is and what it is supposed to be. The beats are good but the substance in the lyrics is what hits the hardest. There are very very few today who can come close to comparison but absolutely none do compare. And I would assume that’s why Tupac is still relevant today. An absolute legend and the only king of rap. 💪
Faith in humanity restored. I hope these kids don't leave this interview listening to Thugger or Lil Yachty though, keep listening to Pac and you'll be fine kids. Pac was strong, fearless, inspirational, smart and very honest. Yes he made mistakes and he was the first to admit it and allow himself to be vulnerable without compromising his manhood. Heed my advice all the youngsters out there, ask your parents, uncles, aunts cousins to get you into 90s Hip-Hop. It was Hip-Hop at its most raw, honest and pure. There will never be a decade where Hip-Hop was as the 90s.
What's wrong with listening to thugger or boat they make enjoyable music not everything has to be politics people want to have a good time too, something you oldheads don't know shit about.
Really sad he's gone. He was so intelligent and a real man. The way he viewed life was real. I believe he would of been a great voice in the world, what we need really now.
