Barney and Robin are meant to be- The finale was a mess, (as was all the pathetic attempts in season 8 and 9 to make us think that Ted and Robin were ever a potential couple after season 3- the locket was ridiculous, not something Robin ever would have done and even the idea of Platonish- I mean Robin and Ted live together for years with no spark and she tells him flat out more than once that she doesn't love him that way.) Barney and Robin are not looking for a soul mate or the one or a perfect family they just happen to find each other and cannot help but fall in love. Ted thinks he loves any girl that is prepared to date him, Barney only ever feels that Robin in the one. In the series Barney gets Robin to believe in Love, He makes her believe in herself enough to escape her dead end job at Metro. He gets her a job, helps her pass the citizenship test, gets her father to apologise to her for the first time ever, performs the Robin for, fixes it so she wins the race when she's really low, gives her the super date, gets her out of her rut when Don leaves, changes who he is, brings Canada to her, always makes her smile and vows never to lie to her and he means it. They understand each other. They forgive each others failures and they were perfect

Barney always have been an womanizer. He kept talking about other women while dating Robin. In his career of being a jerk, he did the worst things you can imagine and never really regreted about it. Regarding the relationship perception of him, he has machism thoughs, remember when he tries to give Marshall advices, and he is selfish. He is proud of his games, and he is immature in several occasions and behaviors. Yes, he likes Robin, but in my vision more like a obsession for a prize he would never be able to get because she was the love of Ted. It became truth in the two times he gets her, he fastly missed his old life and leaved Robin right away. Robin, like most of women falls for guys like Barney because they felt special when a womanizer guy choosed them, but the end is almost ever the same. Robin didn't deserve to end up with a guy like Barney, she was a mature and independent woman, deserves a man who values her.
Let's just pretend that the finale never happened. Seriously, I can't get over how upset I am about the finale.

Barney and Robin were a match made in heaven. They were perfect for each other, and honestly the most irritating part of all of this is that we wasted a whole season on Barney and Robins wedding.. yet we did not even get to see the details of the ceremony, just for them to announce that barney and robin got divorced after 3 years 15 minutes into the very next episode. The writers never should have wasted as much time on Barney and Robin as they did if they were just going to throw it all down the drain so that Robin and Ted could be together when it was made clear throughout the show that they were never meant to be. Very disappointing. Barney and Robin should not have played out as far as they did if the writers were going to stick to the ending they originally planned, huge letdown.

Barney and Robin are epic, and in my heart they will always be together. Screw that finale.
Why Barney and Robin make sense together as of 2014: (not going into future)
1-They both have daddy issues.
2-They both have dealt with abandonment issues, whether from their mothers or fathers.
3-Neither of them is prepared to deal with kids, although they would make awesome kick-ass parents.
4-They both love to have fun above all.
5-They're each others bro's and best friend.
6-They both were scared of commitment at the beginning, but finding each other made them overcome that.
7-They're the male and female version of each other.
8-They're each other's guilty, and then not-so-guilty pleasures.
9-She was always Barney's true love.
10-He was always Robin's true love.
I could go on forever but those are the main reasons why I believe they belong together.
I used to be a Ted and Robin shipper, and although one part of me is happy that they ended up together, my fangirl heart is disgusted because we have been teased with the idea of a perfect match (Barney and robin) ending up together and then throwing all of that away 15 mins into the finale. Not only were the means to do that very poor, but also very stupid because Ted and Robin don't make as much sense as these two.

I was wondering, how come Robin's job is suddenly a problem in Robin and Barney's relationship? I mean they were engaged and lived together and this never seemed to come up, but all of a sudden after they get married her work destroys their relationship?
I mean, I know there were many things wrong with the finale, and I know lots of people are trying to justify them, but the reasons given in the finale don't make any sense!
I could write an essay on how the plot holes of the finale were enormous. the excuse for the divorce was as terrible as the mother's death.

Barney and robin were literally perfect it became clear at first when she became his wingman and she suited up,went to the cigar bar, helped Barney get dates, played laser tag, in that episode that was like the first foreshadowing moment that something more could happen between them. I think it is stupid that robins job is what broke them up in the final because Barney literally always loved her as a reporter and supported her at metro news one and encouraged her to go for other jobs. They should have ended up together because they are perfect together

ok this video is beautiful!! it put me into tears, after what happened in the finale last night... i dont think ive ever felt this angry and disappointed :'( when robin said i should be marrying you to ted last week i thought that was ridiculous but what happened in the finale... oh boy. barney and robin are an amazing couple, they make SO much sense together, barney does so much for her and they both shared their fear of commitment and got over it and married each other, they were my otp.. i cant believe what happened. i am so done with investing time and love in tv show couples.

idk if this made me feel better or worse about the episode but it is beautiful. our otp is amazing and barney (who has already done so on several occasions!!!) would do so much for robin but apparently the writers don't feel the same >:| i feel like this video should be sent to craig and carter because you summed up perfectly why these two idiots are perfect for each other and deserved better than that episode :(

My experience boyfriend left the country 3 weeks ago and he didn’t want to do long distance so we broke up. I’ve been doing amazing things but I can’t help think about him. Of course, as a Ted/Robin shipper since the very first episode, I loved the fact they had their happy ending. Of course I would have done a few things differently, but still I think the finally was really well thought out. so...what's your take on that?
I was a Ted and Robin fan before the Barney and Robin relationship. And as you make it through the series they continued to show how Ted was Robin's second choice, the fall back Incase her life went to shit. and the writers made sure that happened. the finale was awful, they took amazing characters and reduced them to hollow shells of who they were in the pilot. It was a hot mess and will never ever make sense to me or be justifiable as something that was "meant" / built up to happen.
maria , i am no one to judge but u have to admit that barney and robin are perfect. I mean robin had to cancel her gun subscription just to move in with ted, while she smokes cigars and goes to clubs with barney. Even though this was a useless reply .... the finale was not that fun.

+Kate H I know. And just as you have your favourite couple, Ted and Robin are mine. I consider them to be more believable with a genuinely emotional connection, unlike Barney and Robin who in reality were two similar poles that repelled each other when it came down to it.
