The writers didn't realize that the Barney-Robin story would become even better than the Ted-Robin & Ted-Mother stories. Their breakup ended up looking forced and unnecessary.
Looking through the narrator's eyes you see the Robin and Barney breakup was planned but man, did they plan it badly. And tbh it seemed like Robin felt too guilty to tell her therapist-turned-boyfriend the truth because in another circumstance he would've been really good for her and she couldn't handle messing it up.
Robin was always trying to convince herself and everyone why barney is a mistake . She always doubted him and his love for her . She was never fully invested in their relationship. That is why Barney didn't deserve Robin .
It worked, she was just afraid of how much she loved him and how he was that they could fall apart. But Barney actually proved that they could work things out as they're compatible. They ending was just to make ted and robin get back together so i dont think it's really reasonable for the characters' development
Robin and Barney story seems like forced .. how could Robin full in love with a guy womanizer hillarious all what he thinks about is just sex , women for him are just numbers and challenge. it is always Ted & Robin, this is true love.
Because ted never saw her as a person he just saw her as a way to start a family and have children ted always put Robin on a pedestal and ignored her flaws and never realised how different they actually where, best example being when ted forced Robin to tell him why she hated malls, but with Barney she trusted him and was comfortable to show him sandcastles in the sand, Barney accepted her flaws and they both shared the same ideals. And in the end Robin kept coming back to Barney because she loved him but when she had the chances to be with Ted she didn't because she didn't love Ted the way she did Barney. And not to mention Robin was the first person to make Barney believe in love (except Shannon, but she doesn't count)
And what about Robin and Ted? Don't you think it was a one-sided relationship? Ted's obsession was insane, he was emotionally dependent on Robin (a mental illness)...he put Robin on a pedestal and imagined a whole future with her when she said no. Years passed and he continued to be the same, always looking for the slightest slip or looking to show her an extra interest so that she would think that the only one who cared about her was him. I've met guys like that and let me tell you, they're scary. It's not like Barney is saved from everything he did to so many women, but to be honest, she and Barney had a bilateral chemistry and not based on putting someone on a pedestal. Robin was what Barney needed in his life to learn to love again.
@@jessi-hd5ywyes this, Robin wasn’t a needy person but yet she needed Barney because he was the one she had the deep connection with. She saw Barney as her future because he saw her as human and can accept both sides of her because he never put any ideals onto her. He just loves her as she is and she loves him for being who he is and accepts the things that nobody else does. Everyone knows that real love is messy, it’s crazy, it’s fun and cute it comes when you didn’t want think you were made for that. Barney’s breakup with Shannon set his character in stone because that is the true Barney. Robin can see Barney for who he is and accepts those things that their friends don’t see. Robin was what Barney needed, Barney is what Robin needed their relationship showed growth while her relationship with Ted didn’t because every time they go back to that it’s steps backwards in learning anything. Ted and Robin were toxic and had no growth in their relationship because they’re not meant to be not even later in life. Robin found comfort in her relationship with Barney and could separate the showy Barney from the real Barney he is. The man she fell in love with. These relationships always last because they are what they need to be happy and live a happy lifestyle. Robin didn’t want kids but the heartbreak of knowing this made her more real because she was in love at this time. She only loved Barney no matter how hard their relationship was, it was still the most real and the most interesting relationship on this show.

I’ll never forgive the writers for having them get a divorce.

"You can't just run back to the past, just because it's familiar."
If only she had taken the advice, the ending would've been MUCH better.

Because you're equally messed up as I am.. And I can't shake the feeling that we belong together...💚

Even though this sounds bad, its the truth and i accept it. However, we all were rooting for them to be endgame.
