Pangi Valley, nestled in the rugged mountains of Himachal Pradesh, is known for its breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and remote beauty. In this first episode, we embark on an unforgettable journey from Chamba to Killar (Pangi Valley). The Chamba-Killar bus is a seasonal service that operates from July till early October, offering a thrilling ride through some of the most scenic and challenging terrains. The schedule is as follows: the bus departs from Chamba at 5 AM and reaches Killar at 4:30 PM, covering a distance of 170 kilometers with a fare of Rs 380.
As we traverse this spectacular route, you'll witness towering mountains, lush green valleys, the famous Sach Pass at 4400m altitude and the serene Chandrabhaga River. Along the way, we’ll share fascinating insights about the region's history, culture, and way of life. I am Dr. Ram Thakur, Director of KC Public School Jammu. I belong to Churah Valley but I work in Jammu. Every year since 2011, I have been bringing my school students to Saach Pass area for trekking in the month of June. Sometimes Saach Pass is still closed in June.This year, we reached Saach Pass by hiring local taxis. But kindly address the garbage and plastic issues as well as a traveller we should enjoy the journey with snacks but it's our responsibility to carry the snacks wrappers and other waste within themselves rather than throwing in the beautiful valleys.
