This is amazing, Luis. I love all the showcases of Mr. Bump, AIM, Ice Cream Sandwich, Clippy, and Apple XP. You did an extraordinary job of all of their showcases, and moves really look perfect for all of them, and I can't to see the next Standard Showcase with Tuesday X and the other characters joining her and also can't wait to see the next moveset keep up the awesome job Luis you really came back and kill it like you always do dude bravo 👏
Seeing one standard showcase is impressive on its own, but seeing five of them in one video is ten times as amazing! I enjoyed seeing all five of the fighters in action, my personal favorites of this set were AIM and Clippy. I like how AIM used different parts of AOL Instant Messenger such as the toolbar, smiley emoticons, and of course the mailbox (and voice-mailbox). For Clippy, I like how Clippy's original animations were implemented as standards, but I also like how different aspects of Microsoft Office applications were included there, such as using text with different font styles for the side smash (which varies depending on the angle it's in), the arrow symbol being used as a down tilt, and different icons like the paintbrush being incorporated into Clippy's pummel. Also, another detail I liked is how Merlin (a fellow Microsoft Assistant character) is an announcer here, while Clippy is a fighter. As always, the animation was really impressive, and it was a lot of fun to see all of these fighters show off their standards! I look forward to the next things Lawl Assault has to offer, with the upcoming moveset and even a potential second standard showcase video in the works!
This showcase is absolutely… glorious? Wonderful? Stunning? All of the above for sure! Doing 5 characters in one standard showcase is already bold and ambitious enough, but you went and made all of them amazing in their own ways. I just love all the charm and creativity all of the standard moves have, and it’s really hard for me to pick my favorite. Of course all of the unique functions and unique sprites for AIM and Windows XP (and seeing Apple in action) all looked really well executed/done. It’s just wonderful. Apart from having quite literally the same critique as Shrekles about some fully charged smash attacks not doing as much damage as they should (and Dudley’s arm in his HUD sticking out a little too far into the match, which is very minor all things considered) this is easily my favorite standard showcase of any Lawl so far. You’ve made it clear that anything from Lawl Assault is worth the wait and worth checking out, and I can’t wait to see who you have next up for a moveset. Best of luck to you Luis!
First time I've seen someone do 5 characters in a standard showcase video. This person deserves a medal for their talent at spriting all of these incredible characters. Whatever this lawl pulls out next, it'll be worth it.
DUUUUUUUUUDE you absolutely killed it with those standard showcases!!! Each character had their own form of charm to em, and were animated incredibly well! And while we didn't get too much competitive analysis which is fine by me, I still appreciated the minor things being covered such as all angle variants of some attacks being shown off, and flurries. Though I do have one problem and it's some of the Smash Attacks don't inflict as much damage as they should. Only three really caught my attention on potential damage buffs such as Mr Bump's Forward & Down Smashes, and Ice Cream Sandwich's Forward Smash (mainly because of that start-up, surely the damage output should be more rewarding.) But yeah nit-picking aside, this was absolutely worth the wait, the animation work is beautifully well done!!! Also I'm now way more intrigued on who's next now since I'm not that big of a Total Drama fan lol. Still excited for Dawn either way, but I'm more excited on who will be next
Pretty cool. I love how there's a general theme with the standards (Mr. Bump still getting hurt, AIM and Clippy using stuff from their website, etc). Windows XP's standards and Mr Bump's Up Smash were my personal favourite. Looking forward to seeing the mysterious character.
WOOOOHOHO, I’ve seen lots of standard showcases, and this has got to be the best one I’ve seen, like, 5 characters?! 10/10, great job, Luis, and I’m hyped to see the next character for Lawl Assault, good luck!
I don’t have much to add to this segment other than how I LOVE this! I’m not really familiar with most of the source material of the characters here, but the ones I am, AIM and Clippy, are so good! From using AIM’s Smiley’s in the Down Special to Clippy summoning that generic looking enlarged font of all time saying BAM! and WHAM! legit fits so well for someone like Clippy. Not to mention the small details anyone could appreciate in these normals, like how Mr. Bump is still hurting himself on accident, or how Clippy turns into a bike for the run. AIM using those search bar thingies that I don’t know the name of as a weapon are also so god damn GOOD!!!!! I don’t really have much to say beyond Clippy and AIM besides the fact that this is Peak. It really is Peak. Can’t wait for your next moveset, and don’t let some impatient asshole demotivate you!
I honestly really liked this. If this was an actual thing and I were to be making excuses to why I lost, I’d really only say Mr. Bump’s up smash punishes the opponent no matter what and Clippy’s down tilt being enormous lol
Hey, I’ve got a suggestion for a new character you could add: Phil Eggtree from Riddle School! I already have an entire… EVERYTHING planned out, so here it is: Phil’s design will be based off his appearance in Riddle School 3. Jab: regular punch lol Down tilt: sweep the legs (from riddle school 5, smiley’s dream) Up tilt: Bucket fling (from riddle transfer 2) Forward tilt: Ruler + Bookmark (From riddle school 3) Up smash: Lava-Filled coffee mug combo (Riddle school 5) (Phil sends the object above him, shattering on impact with another player, leaving lava particles behind on the floor) Down Smash: Mop (first hit does more damage but low knock back, second hit does less damage but high knock back) Forward smash: Button making machine (riddle school 3) (This fires out a small projectile, whose speed, damage, and distance is determined by how much the move is charged. When fully charged, it will get stuck in the opponent for a short time, dealing small damage whenever the opponent attacks, it will go away after a bit.) Aerials: I’m too lazy to come up with aerials so do what you want for these. Neutral special: Whistle (riddle school 2) (the whistle will stun all opponents in a small radius for a few seconds, however, they will not be stunned if they are wearing *Earmuffs* (new item), instead, the move will not effect them at all.) Down special: Zack (riddle transfer) (When this move is used, Zack will appear and stand around, not doing anything. Opponents will take fire damage if they run past him, and using down special again won’t do anything. But, if you use down special again when near Zack, Phil will pull out a flower, and Zack will sneeze, creating a giant wall of flame, afterwards, Zack will leave, and you’ll have to wait 30 seconds to summon him again.) Up special: Quiz’s Space shuttle (riddle transfer 2) (The shuttle goes up some amount when used, going rather quick before Phil jumps out, entering free fall. The shuttle will damage players in its way, and Phil can jump out of it prematurely if he so chooses to by pressing the attack button.) Side special: Mrs. Cophey (Riddle transfer 2) (Mrs. Cophey will appear and drink a whole bucket of coffee, causing her to spin her teaching stick around really fast, she’ll stay there until an opponent touches her, when this happens, they’ll take a load of damage, and then Mrs. Cophey will fly out of the screen, using the stick as a propeller, (THAT IS A SPONGEBOB REFERENCE LOL) afterwards, the move cannot be used for 30 seconds, just like with Zack.) Final smash: Viz’s Freeze Ray (riddle school 5) (The opponent is chucked into a small space shuttle, the camera then pans to a giant spaceship, which has the freeze ray ready to fire. It then activated, freezing the opponent for massive damage, before then being shattered by an asteroid.) K.O SOUNDS: None, Phil doesn’t talk in any way other than by speech bubbles. Taunts: do whatever the heck you want with these. I’m too lazy. Victory theme: clip from the music for riddle school 3. Stage: Riddle High School (riddle school 3) (This stage also has a hazard, in the form of Chubb occasionally rolling down the stairs like a boulder, this references riddle school 3.) Alt costumes: 1: Default 2: Based off Fred 3: Based off Smiley 4: Based off rickey 5: based off Viz 6: based off Diz 7: Based off Quiz 8: Alternate costume, making him look like JonBro, the creator of riddle school Add or remove to this as much as you like, and I hope this is actually noticed because I put a lot of effort into this!
