She had a voice like Maria muldaur, who sang midnight at the oasis ,rest in peace Lynsey, you maybe gone but your not forgotten,God bless you amen✌👍🙏💑💓💕💖💗💝💞💟🌸🌹🌻🌼☀🌈
No honestly was the first song I learnt to sing when I was 4 years old and I use to draw a mole on my top lip to be like her. I was in my element when I had the pleasure to meet her on many occasion while working for Harvey Nichols in 1987 She was very lovely and absolutely beautiful. R.I.P x
She wrote the majority of her songs including the Ivor Novello award winning “Won’t somebody dance with me?”. Worth a play. A beautiful and talented lady.
Played this to death at the time - never off my turntable! LOVED Lynsey’s music; wrote all her own stuff.Have all her LPs. SO sad she should die young. Can’t be certain, but I have a feeling she was a close friend of John Alderton and Pauline Collins, and they asked her to write the theme to their hit comedy series of the same time - one of my favourites. Loved the show, loved the actors, and loved the theme - what more could you want? FIFTY years ago! Can hardly believe it. Couldn’t wait for Sunday nights to watch it - the highlight of the Weekend for me! Can’t understand how this did not reach Number One, as when I tried buying it, I couldn’t get a copy anywhere - all sold out!
Here in Canada, we only got a bit of this great song, used as the signature tune of the mid-70's sitcom/Britcom shown on the CBC, of th same title. I stumbled upon a copy on eBay and then her on the always well-informed youtube. Thanks for posting this great one!
I remember watching this UK domestic sit-com that starred real-life husband & wife John Alderton & Pauline Collins. Sure would be nice to see some clips from that show.
Love this song+ the lady who sang it brings back many, many memories at 55 yrs old amongst other songs of her's+the TVs show!!!!!bernie m 11/02/17 PS:buying her album!!!!brilliant!!!!!
I saw Pauline Collins n a movie, which started me thinking of No Honestly, which led me to RUclips to search Lynsey De Paul -- I had no idea she had died at only 64. Very sad, I liked her tremendously. Altho Sugar Me is my favorite, I also love No Honestly. RIP Lynsey, join up with the brothers Gibb and make beautiful music on the other side.
I liked this song a lot. Wasn't the TV series John Alderton and Pauline Collins? I used to have the 7" single with the B-side Central Park Arrest by Thunderthighs, who incidentally vocally backed Adrian Wagner on his wonderful 1977 album Instincts. Sorry to see you go Lynsey. Take a rest and we'll all see you again soon enough.
A reviewer once said "Lynsey's cool sexiness as she sits at the keyboard is second to none", and the older I get, the more I realise how right that reviewer was. This is a great song from a time uncontaminated by social media, political correctness, fear of censure and that peculiar kind of selfishness that seems to permeate Western society everywhere. RIP Lynsey and thanks for inspiring me then and now. And thanks postbags1 for the post!
A big shock to us all! I was just coming to terms with the fact that I still fancied the socks off someone turned 60 when she died. But she was talented, expressive, funny and just damned adorable! If you share my sentiments, and would like to share them, and any stories, memories, photos etc, I've set up a Facebook fan page. Look for "I Love Lynsey". 😎
This is great piece of music. My daughter Sarah really loves this song, in particular the backing arrangements. It would be great if Lynsey could tour New Zealand
This was the theme to an ITV sitcom that was very popular. Lynsey was on form as usual, but somehow I prefer Won't Somebody Dance With Me as it sounded classier. However, even if she sung the London phone book, I'd still think it was good as she was so beautiful.
She looks like her voice, and sounds like her looks: Angelic, sweet & petite.
She had a voice like Maria muldaur, who sang midnight at the oasis ,rest in peace Lynsey, you maybe gone but your not forgotten,God bless you amen✌👍🙏💑💓💕💖💗💝💞💟🌸🌹🌻🌼☀🌈

Cute voice, a sexy lady and a fondly remembered show.
Lyndsey was such a lovely looking lady and made some good records. Why does a picture of Nancy Sinatra appear on this post at 0.32?
Oh honestly CD!
Yep.
