Actual inflation was closer to 23% at a median of normal consumer goods, but the Biden admin took out over 80% of normal considerations on what determines inflation in order to save face, just like Obama did on unemployment when he couldn't get it below 10%. He just changed the definition to reflect 28 hours a week, instead of 37 hours a week.

When the rematch is set in stone, you all will be very surprised at the snap back in support for Biden-Harris. People always want an alternative to their candidates. I can't think when was the last time when a majority didn't really want their perceived main candidate versus a generic candidate. It was likely the 1960's and before. So I could careless about these polls. Most people do not currently realize that both Biden-Trump will face off next year. They may not like it, but the vast majority will align with where they voted in 2020. Enthusiam in December 2023 vs November 2024 is meaningless.
I do not want to see the same enthusiasm on the side of Democrats, the left and moderate and sane Independents, and normal Republicans who prefer a democratic republic to a would-be dictator criminal. 20-year-olds don't need to be experts on foreign policy in order to be informed voters. It's good that they are paying attention to the dynamics of the Israel/Gaza war, and they are not wrong to be concerned about civilian deaths in Gaza. They are right to be turned off by the arrogance and condescension of establishment media and politicians who purport to know that Israel is conducting their war on Hamas in a reasonably targeted manner. In debates, defenders of Israel's tactics love to fall back on the "you don't know what you're talking about" ad hominem attack rather than explain why they believe Israel's approach is the best it could be (which is tough to argue, given Israel's attacks on civilian infrastructure and heavy reliance on unguided bombs). The war is based on a legitimate need to eliminate Hamas, but Netanyahu's tactics are brutal to say the least.
Biden is in a difficult position - he has to show unwavering support for Israel lest he be raked over the coals of bad faith attacks accusing him of antisemitism, but he is also a man capable of empathy (unlike Donald), so he feels obligated to do something for the children in Gaza living under constant bombardment. He can't be seen as telling Israel what to do, so he can't even request that they send in special forces to take out Hamas leaders in a more targeted manner, but he undoubtedly wishes they would do that.
As for Donald, that assclown needs to face justice and his cult is in serious need of deprogramming.
