Sort of looks like old school DH Konas. So cool to be able to direct a complex project like this successfully... Such an amazing job and the bike is looking killer!
Really enjoying the two sides of this endeavour Neko, from the technical knowledge to your open and honest opinions on my own project. Appreciate all the time and effort you and your team are putting into this series. All the best for Lourdes this weekend mate
Really looking forward to seeing what refinements are made throughout the season. Also looking forward to the behind the scenes footage from the races.
I really love this series, it was so cool getting to you know las sunday and talk to you about your project!!! Enjoy it to the max in Lourdes this weekend. CHEERS
Yeah, straight away the new rocker arm looks super dialed!! Nice!!! Awesome video series Neko! Easily my favorite MTB series this season! Good luck on the track.
Awesome update! It is great to hear the thoughts and intentions whine the updates. Super cool to see Jimmy at Cascade Components supporting you with a rocker link.
Quality info here. Stoked to know you are using Spire parts, cause that's what I have. In raw and factory orange kinda like you! Hope your hand feels strong during the race. Put you on my pinkbike fantasy team cause I really care about your results after seeing all you've put into it.
Holy shit this is cool. Congratulations with the bike. I love that it isn't a super complicated "inflection point" marketing BS machine, it's just a good bike with a good design. Now lets see it win some races :)
Yeah, from afar, it doesn't look much different, but up close, yeah, looks really polished and ready, nice job on the CNC stuff and dialing in all the sus stuff. Really smart on using that -O-chain device to really get things how you want them, makes so much sense, strange no one else has thought to do similar. Good luck this weekend at Lourdes, hope the finger chills and you get a good quali and race run.
Do you know when Galfer's releasing those Shark rotors? I love the design. Since they already applied for patents a while ago I'm hoping to see them publicly available in the near future.
So an electronic switching active Ochain would be a game changer. Like a Fox live valve but detecting pedal vs coast. Where are my product designers at?
I get the idea behind a linear leverage ratio characteristic, but with it being like it is, it will still give different tuning results at either end of the travel. Yeah, it's linear, but it's still not constant. So for a given wheel rate (speed of going through the travel), the shock rate will be low at the beginning of the travel and high towards the end. Granted, that will give more effective compression damping at the bottom (plus the higher effective spring force) and more rebound damping. Is this a non-constant result that is also beneficial? At first thought it might seem like it, as the bike should take care of big hits in a calmer manner, but should be less damped over the smaller bumps, where it doesn't go deep into the travel.
i think this is the point of the progressiveness, yeah. like you said, a reduced leverage ratio is better as you get deeper into the travel to provide more hold up and resist big hits, but more compliance is the priority at the start of the stroke to make things smooth over little bumps.
Could you explain specifically why you prefer the low pivot over the high pivot? You seem to be in favour somewhat of a rearward axle path based on your approach with the LP to make it the "least forward". Do you just not like the idler, or is the handling really just that weird with a HP?
Why are you not using the WRP Centrehub to counter the pedalkickback? It has instant Engagement (unlike the o chain spider your using rn) and eliminates all pedalkick
I mean I guess you are aware that google is a thing but too lazy.. It's a device that allows a few degrees of play between the cranks and the front chainring (meaning your cranks have to turn a few degrees until it pulls on the chain), which eliminates/minimizes pedal kickback.
@@Finnspin_unicycles Thanks for answering. Not sure why you imply I am too lazy. I did google it, and found tons of o-chain necklace and o-chain Abus locks. Great video, just too bad you were 'too lazy' to define this term in the video before using it.
brilliant video and wawoow what a kool place to be designing and racing your own frames=D Im really interested to know what the frame geometry program is called what your using ? Good luck with it all @NekoMulally
Hands down the best videos on YT! Keep it up Neko!
yes
Well he might be tied with you guys @Worldwide Cyclery
Darnit, just when I though I was going to be able to focus on work this AM!
I'm so jealous, you're living my childhood dream. This is what I was day dreaming about while I put together Y bikes. Keep up the awesomeness
Nice one Neko, sounds like you've made some steady progress since prototype 1. Best of luck for the first round at Lourdes!
I love the design progression. Some decals and a lick of clearcoat and you'd have a production looking bike!
was thinking a custom paint would look sick at world champs for example
No clearcoat. LEt the patina build on it!
@@Primoz.r 100% no clear. I love all my actual raw frames.

Biggest mistake was designing a bike with a chain in the first place... Hahaha just kidding, really interesting content here, good luck Neko!
Man, this is so cool. Loving the attention to detail. Good luck this weekend!!

Here is to a safe and productive start to your WC season🍻🍻
See you at Snowshoe!!
This progression of designs and explanation seems damn cool. Your philosophy makes sense. Good luck and thanks.
All my best wishes to you and the people arround you ✨💫
Luck favors the prepared. Seems like you are prepared. Love to see the process. Thanks.
Extremely interesting in short summary. Will be a blast to follow during the season. Looking forward to future development. Good luck!
Will see you on Sunday ! Best luck for the first runs man !
You're killing it dude, best of look this coming weekend, we're all routing for you.
Good luck this weekend Neko. Progression of the bike design is awesome, excited to see it in WC action!
As before, great video. Now I will add great design philosophy. Thanks again for all your efforts.
Really looking forward to seeing what refinements are made throughout the season. Also looking forward to the behind the scenes footage from the races.
So rad! love the videos, keep them coming

Nice having friends who can do things properly 😄
Bike looks as good as any mainstream bike out there 👌🏻
It's looking really good and I'm loving this project best of luck for the weekend Neko
Shout out to neko for the kanuga creation..luv that place..shout out to dave the trail master for keeping those trails in primo condition 🤙🤙
I'm loving all your work Niko!!! Driving 14 hours to Kanuga in a couple of weeks to support the sponsors, Good luck this weekend.
Such great in-depth info. Can’t wait to see you race it.
brilliant work Neko, looking forward to seeing you at Lourdes, good luck!
So excited to see you racing your own rig.... Congrats! 🤘😁🤘
Looking forward to seeing you race this weekend, gonna be an interesting race for sure. Wish you all the best and have fun between the tapes!
Great design! This is the way world cups should go
Loving this series and love the look of those 5 Devs cranks gonna have to get some myself.
It looks absolutely stunning!

That is a Deadly Weapon Neko! Bring on Lourdes! Be the zone.
This is great. You should make a kickstarter!
Awesome. The bike is a stunner too.
I love the raw/industrial look...Sexy looking bike!
Looks sick! Love these videos diving into the details.
New rocker link looks rock solid, bravo

looks like a kona stinky from 2006

I don't think they have any plans to release them. I heard that on a bikes and big ideas podcast with them.
hoping to have good productions numbers to ship around july/august..

Very interresting great looking Bike too.
Love this Neko! Also would love a tips and tricks of TRP brakes with Ancho! What does he do about stuck pistons?
YEEEEEEEEEW! Get it my dude! Good luck!
Good luck this weekend!!
Good luck at the race!
Brilliant 👏

Where are my product designers at?
Love it!!
If designing the bike from scratch why still use brake mount adapters instead of fabricating the rear post mounts for larger rotors?
looks better than the new intense
So cool to learn all the details! Do you ever let other pro riders take your creation for a spin?
excelent job Neko...... congratulations fot the Panamerican Title..... did you drive this machine there?
Great talk, thanks. Now off to google Ochain.
Time for Monster Energy to come on board!!!

Just wondering if you could release the linkage files from the three bikes, would be very cool. Good luck for the WC
nice, lets see a podium.
Really nice vids, wouldn‘t a freecoaster have less pedal kick 🤔😂
What colour and design are you going to use ,fantastic content
How about reaching out to Mic at Williams Racing Products for his CentreHub chainring spider?

nice!
What’s the reason for the upside down shock mount on the bike? theory behind it?
SO goddam cool
What programs have you used to design the geometry of the frame?
maybe i missed it. did FTW weld this frame too?
dude designed a 2006 kona stinky! but now with O chain lmao
Get some at the 🌎 cup!
The big push for 2025 bikes....mid pivot idler pulley bikes..
Not running an assegai on the front?
🇺🇲🇺🇲🤘
>looks like a stab
lol suprised i had to scroll this low for this. stab or stinky to me. but now with O chain
How tall are you Neko?
I can borrow it?
Fuck saying that looks like a session. That IS a session
I’m pretty sure that a 98’ Kona with the paint scratched off.
norco aurum ?! jk
I'm not going to say what it looks like. I'm not going to be this dude...
(Trek fanboys entering the conversation)
Now if only I knew what an 'O chain' is.....
