  • This is a full video build of Eduard's 1/72 Fw190A-8, the weekend edition of the kit. Certainly a different subject for the channel. You may aware, this channel is mainley concentrated on British aircraft but with the Fw190 I may well broaden this remit. I do have a few non-Brit kits hanging about screaming at me.....
    Can I apologise for the dodgy audio. My bad!
    I need to thank Champion Scale Modelling for the invaluable support in making this video...

    Really enjoyable watch....great tips and techniques for the build, excellent commentary and great job on a very small scale......I'm sticking to 1/32....big, dodgy arthritic fingers don't help! Thanks, Tim.

      I really can’t blame you Robert. My last model was the ICM Gladiator which is a much better size 🤓🤪 I’m glad you enjoyed the video... as there more to come... Thanks for taking the time to comment mate ☺️

    16:30 just cut this snake in 2-3 smaller pieces and then adjust em on surface. this really helps with big decals. in general, when you have L, cut it to I and _ its much easier to put em back together(I + _ = L) than to struggle with one piece

    Turned out rather Nice, And Thanks for What I think is one of the best Canopy masking demonstrations I've seen yet.. Drives me nuts trying to lay down a huge chunk of tape and then trying to get it all burnished down and then trying to cut it , without damaging the canopy.. I'll have to look for one of those cutting mats. very nice bit of kit!

    Looks great! I gotta get one sometime.
    I think you got the wing colors switched around (the labels at the bottom of the screen, I mean); the lighter gray color is RLM 75, and the darker one is 74.

    I think the ground crew's in the field used a mop or sponge to do the mottling.

    • @TimsScaleModelling
      @TimsScaleModelling  4 года назад

      Well they possibly did James, I'm not expert but late in the war I don't think they're be worried about perfect mottling. DDay stripes were often applied using a mop!

    • @TimsScaleModelling

      No mate, not in my experience. Stynlyrez works like a dream.
      Mr Surfacer 1500 is another primer I use, (haven’t got any at present) now that is smoooth. The trouble with that one is paint lift, I don’t seem to get any using Stynljizz...

    • @TimsScaleModelling

      You’re joking Les! Generally, they are very good 109, 190, Spits, the jets too are mostly excellent. The Hellcats 48 & 72 are beautiful, but some are a little dodgy... actually the 110’s are a little tricky to put together.

      Hi JK I only left it an hour or so. I never liked it tbh but I tried it again, thinned with Mr Levelling Thinner, thin coats and it like a revelation really nice. Try it again mate, on a test piece..
