I almost fell asleep during Mission Farpoint. But I found the character Q fascinating and very entertaining. DS9 and Voyager pilots aren't much better. Star Trek series always have initial difficulties, but from season 3 onwards things usually work out.
Agree with the entire list, except for Broken Bow. I would probably place it slightly above Caretaker. I think unfortunately Berman & Braga never really got the conflict between Vulcans and Humans right and usually everyone involved came off as completely unreasonable. Emissary definitely deserves the top spot in my opinion. I think the parallels between the prophets as non linear beings and Sisko not being able to leave his traumatic past behind were genius. Great way to tie a sf concept back to the backstory of the main character.
For me they're both almost tied. The tie breaker goes to ENT simply because all the characters are pretty much dialed in from episode 1, where Bashir still needed some development, and the margin is as slim as one over the top character, for me at least.
Not into the new stuff so for me it's: Beyond the Farthest Star, Caretaker, Encounter at Farpoint, Broken Bow, The Man Trap/The Cage/Where No Man Has Gone Before (all great BTW), Emissary.
I believe DS9's pilot The Emissary to be the best. Sisko's struggle with his grief over Jennifer's death, his anger towards Picard, his explanation of linear time to the prophets and more.
Emissary is number one for me. The tie in to one of TNG's best episodes setting up a major conflict between the leading characters of each series was fantastic IMHO. It made the acceptance of every TNG character that joined DS9 extremely palatable and logical.
Always nice to see Enterprise topping a list! I definitely agree with your top 2. I think I go back and forth, but Emissary might edge out Enterprise for me ATM. I'm sure that will change again by next week.
I love my trek nerd family but putting tng at the bottom made me cry. The best analogy would be remeber in the godfather when he tells his brother “ you broke my heart” that’s how I felt. But unlike in the godfather I still love you forever ❤❤
@@bestoftrekworstoftrek Oh I know but I would have but animated lower than tng or even the cage. But that’s why I love you, you share your opinion unapologically Authenticity is key and we don’t have to agree but we can still have some fun with each other. Stay real
Kinda hard for them to stick around in _TAS: “Beyond the Farthest Star”_ when they just tricked the entity onto that dead rock and would like to put some space between it and them and there’s nothing left of the ship after the Enterprise vaporized it to necessarily study. _TOS: “The Cage”_ and _TOS: “Where No Man Has Gone Before”_ are both far better watching experiences than _TOS: “The Man Trap”_ especially since Dr. McCoy episodes are not terribly engaging. Disco, Picard, SNW, and to a lesser extent _Lower Decks_ are at the bottom in rising order _Enterprise_ serves as the odd man out between Best & Worst and all the Canon Trek (and _Prodigy_ 🙄) are in various order for Best. SPOILER, TNG would be towards the top.
Ok, fair. Groppler Zorn isn't that interesting. But what a NAME...he could move to Galorndon Core and be the coolest MFer ever. "Groppler Zorn of Galorndon Core"...Sounds like an unreleased David Bowie album from his Ziggy Stardust days.

It broke my brain when I found out the same dude who was Zorn voiced Chas Finster and Dru Pickles in Rugrats.
How long have you been groppling with this?

It's almost a tie. On my ranked list of all Trek they are 1 apart in rankings. Both quite good at what they do, in different ways.
Come on man, Don't Groppler my Zorn!
If you can't handle me at my Groppler...you don't deserve me at my Zorn!

@@Peaceforall20111 The Cage is definitely the worst of the 3 TOS pilots
Hey, don't sell them short on character development. We know Ortegas very well. She's Erica Ortegas. She flies the ship.
The pilot seat is her realm
