18 reforges so far, supposedly a 10% chance, and no upgrade to ancient puzzle ring , using up forgotten souls faster than i dare to mention. i think i'm done with d3 for a couple of days.
I watched this just now - did the reforge method one time - got the ancient ring. I have never tried to get this before at all. I also got the ancient hellfire amulet the first go... did 17 at once and got two. I should get a powerball ticket
Ancient puzzle ring was the worst step of the alter for me outside of still needing 2 primals for the last potion (because for once I've gotten a couple of useful primals). I ended up needing 25 reforges for my ancient (125 of each bounty material and 1250 forgotten souls was rough).
I farmed bounties for this seal. Got a puzzle ring. Reforged 6 times and got a primal... I was very torn between primordial ashes and the next seal. Didnt want to spend more time grinding so I sacrificed it. Worth it
It's better to use the primordial ashes. The chances of getting a primal is way lower than to reroll an Ancient using bounty materials. The chance of Ancient is only 1/10. The chance of a primal is 1/400.

I think reforging legendary is so far the most viable and efficient method. In case someone doesn't know, the chance of a legendary drop to be ancient is 1/10, and this also applies to reforged items. That means in average you'll spend 50 of each bounty material and 500 forgotten souls to get one ancient. It'll take a while, but with the material drop rate of the season it's not that long.
I've spent over 200 hours grinding this ring. I've done over 300 bounties, upgraded 200 rare rings, reforged 100 puzzle rings, done over 50 hours of regular/greater rifts. This grind has made me want to quit the game, idk what to do at this point

I kept gambling for rings, and upgraded the rares into legendarys as much as my mats allowed. I got lucky and got an ancient puzzle ring this way, but I was going to reforge into ancient if I did not. This method is draining on resources, but you have some small chance to get lucky with Kadala, and some small chance then in the cube. And getting lots of legendary rings is not such a bad thing early in the season anyways.
I'm seeing mixed statements on here... It WILL give a "❌️" in the list of requirements for the ring IF it's still currently your stash (ie. not in your immediate inventory). I took mine out of the stash and was relieved of my frustration once I put it into my immediate inventory, went back to the altar, and that "❌️" wasn't there anymore. 👍 It DOES work!
damn. Guess I'll have to go for the "mega sad" method after I've already rerolled legendary 40x and have gambled and upgraded about 40 non-ancient puzzle rings
was a great way to get puzzle rings - but i think they modified the drop rate for those rings on lvl 31. i sometimes got 4-5 rings with 1800 BS, now i often get nothing. today i spent 7500 Bs and didn't even get a single puzzle ring. and i didn't get much last couple of days. too bad :-(
I had better luck getting my gibbering gemstone. I have X number of characters under a few hundred hours of game play and I have not gotten lucky enough to get even one (1) puzzle ring to date. Now mind you I only came back to the game about 2 weeks before S27 ended or so but I play every waking second I am up and at home. Dozens and dozens of hours. So hopefully with a LOT of luck your tips will help me get some. However, playing on the Xbox One it's seems it's different then the PC. I know I have ran over 500 bounty runs because that's actually an achievement on the console version. I have tried on various level difficulties and still after doing over 500 bounty runs. I have not gotten one single puzzle ring. Thanks Oh and don't feel bad, I didn't track how many hours it really took me to get my 1st gibbering gemstone on my main Non-seasonal character, but farming the second one didn't see like it took as long. But maybe it was because I was like you on your Gibbering gemstone video and was so tired it just magically appeared LOL Have a good one. :)

Best way ive found was to combine the Level 31 "secret 6th method" with the reforge legendary at the cube. Super easy to get ancients, you just have to spend time doing bounties (and not solo).

this is all about luck,done 17 full bountyruns with dubble the bags,done the gamble with the lvl 31 for rings got 27 normal rings and did 32 reforge nothing no aintient
getting Chiltara to drop a gibbering gemstone makes reforging puzzle rings look like fun

Go to campaign mode. Chiltara has a 100% spawn rate on Caverns of Frost in that mode.

If your are rifting above 120 you got a better chance to get some primal. I have so far gotten 8 this whole season.
Ancient can only proc as an affix on L70 items, so sub-70 characters gambling at Kadala will never be able to get an ancient.

Paragon 988 before i dropped the ancient puzzle ring.. used all my mats.. blood shards... terrible way to lock progression behind something so RNG

Bounties are far more tolerable if you do them in a group, assuming your build can clear the content.
What's the probability of using kanai cube reforge legendary to get an ancient?

how are 50 bounty materials rough to get? you literally get 50+ in 1 group bounty
Well a VAST majority of players don't do group bounties and you don't get 50+ in 1 bounty you get 44 per act so if you started at 0 you would need 2.
