  • Epic crashed spaceship painting, part 2! In this conclusion, we'll focus on rendering the ship itself - I'll go over my techniques for creating cool machinery and adding the appearance of wear and tear. We'll add some polish to integrate the ship into the background and bring this one to the finish line.

    It is amazing to me how 1.5 years ago I started drawing for the first time through your courses on Skillshare and today I still return to them every day to learn something new. You are an absolute gift for the developing artist and I couldn't be more thankful for the content you provide us with. I think I'll soon be ready to purchase your art professionals course and start making my way into the industry. Keep being amazing, Hardy!

    Just amazing to watch how you can capture Mood, lighting and tell great stories in all your paintings. You have got blues oranges cyan even muted but nice cool and warm colors, and the contrast of a grey spaceship against an alive vibrant nature around it. Thank you for sharing your amazing process with us.

    Hello Hardy! Big fan, I have purchased nearly every single video you have on Udemy and have been following your art lessons for a lot longer than this video has been out. I just wanted to say as a fan/student I love your videos and I love the free ones you have been putting on RUclips. I don't know if your looking for recommendations for new videos or anything, but speaking as a fan/student of yours I would love if you could do like a weekly painting. I mean tutorial or just a painting on something you are working on I think it would be great.
    On a side note something I always ask nearly any professional artist on youtube for a video and none have responded to this video request, but I would also personally love to see a day in the life video. That is to say if you are freelance, what your day entails waking up looking at emails, determining if the job is something you could do, examples, the whole process. I've never seen a artist on youtube do that.

      Wow, thanks so much. I appreciate the kind words and I hope that my content has helped your artwork over the years. That's a really cool idea for a video! I'll definitely try to keep posting these on a weekly basis. More stuff is in the works!

    This is awesome! I hope your channel continues to grow and you get the following that you deserve! It's also nice to see that just because you don't have a huge following doesn't mean that you aren't working in the industry or are successful...that it is something separate. Thanks for inspiring us! I'm about to sign up for one of your courses! Wish me luck!

    Man your commentary and skill level make it exciting to go through all the steps of fully creating all the necessary details, shape structures, textures and lighting effects I wish I could've come across a creative mind like yours earlier on in school. Any advice for someone trying to find a legitimate path for digital graphics and illustration?

      Thanks. I'm so glad you're getting some benefit out of these. I've got lots more in the works. I'm not sure where you are in your career but I would recommend applying to freelance gigs on sites like polycount.com. Small jobs lead to big jobs and you gain experience and exposure along the way. I've got a course called Art Professional that goes through this process and has other career launching tools.

      Hardy Fowler thanks for the feedback and info about your course I think it will be quite insightful and a great learning tool. I'm currently at a crossroads between the 9-5 grind and finding the right healthy avenue to utilize my abilities in a time efficient financially feasible way. I'm unsure of alot of things pertaining to making the right outlet choice legitimize my art and to provide personal satisfaction that has a lucrative outcome. Seems there are always more question marks but I'm sure if I stay the course and hold true to my creative nature I'll find my way when the time is right. Please feel free to correspond with any questions, knowledge, or experiences u think might help. I would greatly appreciate it. And I look forward to your next installment on RUclips

    Hey Hardy, love the videos and thank you for sharing. As a total beginner what brushes would you recommend for sketching and line work?
    Also which of your courses would most suit a beginner? thank you

    • @fowlerillus
      @fowlerillus  4 года назад +1

      For a beginner, I wouldn't even worry about brushes too much. Just stick with a default round brush. If you're using Photoshop, I would dial up brush Smoothing. This will steady your line work and help you get used to drawing digitally. Good luck!
