I love watching Wendy's video. She explains it so clearly. I love the concept of the walking foot or the dual feed foot for quilting. I am not much for free motion, I lack the confidence. Would love to see more with the walking foot. Thank you for showing this.I
Great tutorial. I never knew how much you can achieve with the quilting foot. Showing the basics as you have in your video has given me a knew insight to quilting. Thank you and can we have more please?
I understand that the walking foot is essential for serious quilting. Now I am wondering what the difference is between the snap on spring action quilting presser foot for snap on presser feet machines and the walking foot, which I can't find for snap on presser feet machines. It seems that the snap on spring action presser foot is for free motion quilting and embroidery, but doesn't work like the walking foot. It would be so helpful if you could perhaps point out the differences.
+gabbyg561 You have to take the snap-on appliance off and then put the walking foot on with the screw. Make sure the lever on the right side is OVER the pin mechanism that holds the needle tight.
start small...a king size quilt is quite the challenge for a beginner. i know..thats what i tried to do. you need to practice on smaller sizes before you try to tackle the king. so i suggest you start with a wall hanging or a table runner to get the feel of it...maybe do a few of those then try a lap or baby quilt...and work up..because if you start with a king youre going to fight and fight with such a large piece in your machine when you start to quilt it. especially not knowing what ur doing
I just bought a brother machine with tons of "quilting attachments," and I have no idea what a "walking foot" is. I got so frustrated that I lent the machine to a friend indefinitely!! (She's happily making a quilt as we speak.) Could you do a tutorial for "idiots" with no attention span and "easily frustrated syndrome"?? I really want to make a quilt for my precious daughter...King Size!!

I subscribed to Wendy's Craftsy class and learned so much from her. I have my quilt ditched but my free motion needs a lot of work.

Where is the actual information for this video? I found the information on the wineglass, but not the others. Any help would be great!!
@Julia White, The Gourmet Quilter has an excellent tutorial here on youtube on making a quilt as you go.

Look up machine embroidery which is worlds apart from the walking foot. Then you won't feel confused.
you need to loosen up a little bit craftsy...show a little more skin....
