Madakaripura Waterfall, located in the heart of East Java, and nestled within the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, stands as the tallest waterfall in Java. Its cascading waters plunge down from a height of over 200 meters (656 feet) amidst towering cliffs covered in emerald-green foliage. The name "Madakaripura" itself carries a historical significance, linked to the legendary figure of Gajah Mada, a powerful prime minister of the Majapahit Empire. This waterfall is believed to be an eternal waterfall because it has never experienced a drought.
Our adventure begins with a taxi ride from our accommodation. As we traverse through quaint villages and verdant fields, we gradually made our way towards the entrance of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. From there, we embark on a motorcycle pillion ride to the ticketing booth and trailhead.
