In the draft era every year there are may 2 to 3 great QBs that comes out of that year that pans.out. if you then look at this year, you already have Daniels, willams (once he gets.out of Chicago), bo Nix and phenix Jr. Unless this becomes the greatest QB draft JJ is against history. OK how is this a terrible draft class when Kyle Mccord just broke matt ryan, desean watson and phillips rivers passing yards record at syracuse? It's not, they just arent talking about him bc their afraid he'll get drafted higher than cam ward or sanders jr as he should.
What’s really interesting to me is the predicament SF now finds itself in. They may be looking to replace Purdy and they had Darnold on their roster! When it comes to qb, so many franchises either treat them with kid gloves or look at them through rose colored glasses. Purdy was a nice story, but many people could see his flaws. They had the perfect plan B in Darnold and let it slip away. Now Vikings want him long term.
wtf you talking about? Purdy will be fine, the fucking kid has been to a Super Bowl and a NFC championship game in 3 years. What has darnold done in 7 years? Lmao darnold has one good year because of his situation and y’all act like he is the next Brady. Stop it.
So you think they should have cut Brock and paid Darnold after the year Brock had last year? There is a reason Brock was starting last year and Darnold was the backup. Also, let's not pretend Sam would be having the same level of success on the niners this year. One year of success doesn't completely erase his history.
@ No, I’m saying why not keep both of them. They had to be remotely aware that Darnold might be better than Purdy in the long run when they saw them in practice every day. I have friends that are Niners fans and I hope it works out for them, but from the outside looking in it seems like an epic blunder. It looks similar to the Giants hitching their wagon to Daniel Jones and the Cowboys hitching their wagon to Dak Prescott. Can you really expect to win a Super Bowl with any of these guys?
@@michaeltamul500 Darnold got a pay raise by going to MN. He had a chance to start as a bridge QB. They weren't against keeping him as a backup but he wanted a chance to start (which is understandable) And they did see them in practice every day and Purdy was better...and that was coming from media and fans who watched them both in TC. I didn't hear a single person say that Darnold was better. In fact he spent the entire TC scared to take shots and just checking it down to ensure he didn't throw picks and had a high completion %
@ Don’t get me wrong, it definitely worked out for Darnold and I’m happy for him. I just don’t know where the niners go from here. Their window is closing due to aging stars and Purdy has obvious limitations. They wasted a top pick on Trey Lance a few years ago. Are they going to gamble another high pick on QB?
JJ going nowhere. He’s essentially the number 1 overall pick this year!!! Talking Sam is what Kirko Stans were saying last year. 🤯 we’re going to franchise and trade Darnold. Daniel Jones will be fixed and traded like Darnold before. JJ will start by week 10 or week 1 in 2026. Cap flexibility is as important as draft picks.
Ok what if he’s a better quarterback and you trade him picks are luck if the straw and he’s going to be good maybe keep him franchise Sam and trade him for picks use the cap on line and one pass or nose tackle we need a corner. Use jones as a back up
You have the time to develop a quarterback, don't be dumb. He's going to be cheaper. He's going to be able to supercharge this roster. You are out of your mind if you think you're gonna keep darnold and try to weigh JJ McCarthy. Please stop being dumb!
Just asking a question (not in a condescending kinda way) but would you still feel the same way about trusting KOC if he just flat out chose JJ to be his guy next year? I know JJ would be a step down for at least next year but that roster could be set up to be the best roster in the league over the next 5 years and if by year 2 of JJ starting be ready to completely take over the league. I think it's their best chance at really being the best team in the league with real chances at winning the super bowl. If they just let JJ go and throw the bag at Sam there's a better chance the team isn't as good next year than it is they are even better than this year. Then your window just shrinks over the next few years. I think they should roll the dice with JJ and stack the damn roster. I want them to actually win one instead of having some good regular seasons and making a little noise in the playoffs. If they find a way to win it this year then i don't care if they give Sam all the money

Keep both, id SAM balls next year and you play JJ a couple games, the following year you can definitely get 1st round picks for JJ.
JJ for 2nd ,4th and 5th lol please
JJ going for 4 first rnd picks 2 in top 10. Other 2. 15to32
10:39 “trust the staff trust the coaching” trade Darnold let JJ play keep jones as a backup
KOC doesn’t want that and nor does the team.
Daniel Jones beat the Vikings not long ago in the playoffs. He some abilities
Minny will keep JJ they're not picking Danny Jones over JJ McCarthy. Time to stop fantasizing about being a GM.
Just keep him. Trading him for picks would be dumb. Who cares about the draft pick up decent free agents without throwing too much money at them and the Vikes will be fine
You cant give 4 to 5 years 40 million per based on 1 year.
Keep both. JJ might be good in a few.years but not right away.
Hate to being this up but JJ will be fighting against history as well. That being said down the road he can become a Darnold or Baker where it takes him multiple years to truly become elite.
You're not getting JJ McCarthy for a 2nd and 4th. These people are insane. Or stupid.
They weren't against keeping him as a backup but he wanted a chance to start (which is understandable)
And they did see them in practice every day and Purdy was better...and that was coming from media and fans who watched them both in TC.
Nobody cares what you think about college qbs.
What is the vikings cap this offense?
I’m down with whatever KOC decides to do, but I have a pretty good idea of what he’s gonna decide to do after a season like this with Darnold
Funny hearing you give Darold a pass for his past, but not the same grace for Baker Mayfield, who, imo has been better. Imagine Baker on the Vikings with those coaches and weapons.
I've literally seen Baker with a Super Bowl Winning roster/weapons and pro bowlers. Sam is better. Not difficult to see. And stop making stuff up saying I don't give Baker a "pass". Just stop being so disingenuous. It's getting so obnoxious. I've repeatedly said throughout this season how Baker has impressed me. How he's kept the bucs afloat with all their injuries. I've repeatedly said he's not a bad QB, that he's a good QB
@@gmjr30 Baker hasn’t been better than Darnold this year. They are about the same except Darnold leads the league in big time throws and deep td passes I think
@JWLSports how can you genuinely say Sam is better after ONE season?! What body of work does he have remotely close to Baker?! Baker has playoff wins. Sam doesn't even have a start. Way to be prisoner of the moment. Smh
@@Izthefaithful not in my opinion.
@JWLSports I've seen plenty of Maholmes mountains where you've said he's been overrated this year, too. Are you just rambling or do you listen to what you say? I just don't be randomly just disagreeing with you just to do it. I'm listening to what you say and responding to those exact instances like. "You can't trust Lamar " or the Chiefs havent been that good 80% of the year, then you act like you never had that position. Smh
they could offer 3 first rounds we still hold JJ not trading him for anything sorry get lost.
You haven't followed Viking quarterbacks very closely. It is an absolute possibility that Darnold will suck next year. Your not considering the Viking curse.
lol curses don’t exist. 😂
Then that means you don't trust KOC and by default you are saying JJs future is uncertain as well. Double edge sword my friend 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I trust more that SAM will get better with more games under KOC than JJ being a super star right away. Eventually down the road yes but not tight away.
Every team that got rid of Sammy Dinero ended up with worse QBs. Jets with Zach Wilson.... Panthers with Bryce Young and 49ers with Brock Purdy.
49ers didn't get rid of Sam. There was no way they were keeping Sam after the year Brock had last year. Sam didn't even play last year. They aren't a mess because Sam left
And let's be honest, if Sam were on the 49ers this year with what is going on with that team this year, you really think Sam would have the same success? No he wouldn't, not even close.
As for the Jets and Panthers, they were a mess before Sam got there and were a mess while Sam was on the team. They didn't become a mess because Sam left.
Is SF in worse shape after Sammy left? 💯 Just like Jets and Panthers. I guarantee Kyle wishes he had kept Sammy instead of Purdy Awful.
@@jamslam5641 was SF awful before Sam joined them in 2023? Were the Jets and Panthers awful while Darnold was on the team?
Shanahan doesn't wish he had Sam Darnold over Purdy. There is no reason they would have kept Darnold over Purdy. Purdy was an MVP finalist last year. So they should have cut him for Darnold who had done nothing in the league at that point? Are you people stupid or do you just not actually watch the 49ers?
Also, Darnold on the 49ers this year would be just as awful. The entire team collapsed...Darnold has never shown he can carry a team on his own.
Did SF tank after Sammy left? Yes. Believe me, Kyle rues the day he chose Purdy over Sammy MVP.
Pump the breaks sure sam darnold is playing well his first season so far we got to see what he do in his first playoffs and get the number 1 seed and if we win a superbowl than yes trade JJ mccarthy but right now no I keep JJ mccarthy and sign sam darnold for 2 years anmd have JJ mccarthy sit for 2 years he be only 24 go the green bay route have him sit
The Vikings record to date : they have had a soft schedule. They are 3-2 against playoff teams
JJ already has a bad day and he couldn't throw the ball in college what the f*** do people think that he's going to be good in the NFL? That McCarthy was even taken with a 10th pick of the first round is absolutely bonkers.
