Funny how this works. I just found you today. You're video is still working for you and us the viewer 4 years later. Thank you so much for this! You deserve way more than 85k subs man your work is really nice!
wth?? When you think there could be something better out there on filming cars, then someone like this comes along and ups the game a notch. Good job bro...
Best summer anime of 2020. On the real tho, I appreciate the fact that while you were teaching how to film, someone else was filming you. Your thoughts are so well organized and easy to understand. Knocked it out of the park my dude. You're creating a generation of videographers 👐
I’ve learned more in this video than in months of researching specific topics. This video is all you need to watch for a good cover of the specifics. Well done, and thank you!
This is a great video man. Really appreciate you taking the time to make it. I like how you kept it simple and left room for us to do our own research. Kept it from being too intimidating. Thanks!
Man, you have helped so much as I am a total noob when it comes to shooting content with proper equipment. I am eternally grateful for your video series and look forward to your channel blowing up soon! You seem to have been shooting for a while and have gone through a lot of trail and error. Again, thank you!
Bro this is the best breakdown of Car Cinematics I've ever seen! You should create a comprehensive masterclass course and charge people for it. Then you could get paid for this, and amateur people like me starting out could get a clear, easy to understand crash course to help me get started. Thank you for this!
when I see somebody using B+W filters... you're a man of taste. Also you should specify that you can't stack CPL on an NDX or VND. In that case rotating the base of the VND will change the polarization.
@@spamsubie you could try a combined filter tho... I have one around and it has 2 rings, the first rotates the polarization the second the ND value it's a mess to use quickly and I rarely use it
@@dallatorretdu yeah I'm going to get an ND drop-in filter adapter for my camera in the future. It goes before the lens so I wont have to worry about stacking anymore haha
The best video when it homes to filming honestly love that you explain a technique and show how it should look like since the video before this one! Keep it up I wanna see more!
I usually never comment on videos, but had to for yours. Really awesome stuff! Well laid out, to the point explanation with example. Motivates me to go out and start shooting right now. Keep up the amazing work.
Really great technical info, thanks for sharing. It makes a big difference really knowing DP fundamentals, vs. the avg. RUclipsr trying to do these cinematics with no knowledge.
Great tips man! Strongly agree with your points! Last thing im trying to get right and safely doing rollers without shooting out the trunk of a car :( Working on piecing a rig together for my Corolla hatch, and controlling the camera left and right at least. Truly love your content man!
Awesome video/series! I know its not your problem but I think many people including myself starting out have lower budget micro 4/3 cameras. I just wanted to point out that there is a 2.0 crop factor compared to full frame so for example where you would use a 35mm I need to use about 17mm. I will definitely be keeping your tips in mind for a video I plan on shooting soon!
Hey man as a film student calling it the 180 degree shutter rule doesn't make sense :| But hey that's why I'm writing trying to help u like this vid helps me. So the 180 degree rule is actually a rule on where to put the camera in relation to the subject or mutiple subjects so when camera angle changes in edit the audience isn't disoriented. :P great vid can't wait for the sound one!
Yes there are two 180 rules, the one you are referring to is the one relating to the camera angles when shooting. The one I am explaining in this video is the mathematical rule that pertains to shutter speed settings, which his why I called it 180 "shutter" rule :)
spamsubie but what are u 180-ing🤔it's the double up rule cause it's double your shutterspeed if it were to be a 180 on numbers you would take 24 fps and have to set it to a setting that is -24 cause that is the 180 opposite number of 24. But even explaining it this way is wrong just because the rule has nothing to do with any 180 it's a 2x equation not a directional equation. I love ur vids and they help a lot i just want you to be as accurate in your teachings here as possible😋
Very cool! Just wondering, does the HDMI cable connecting the external monitor to the camera impact gimbal performance? Or is the weight offset negligable? I just got the Zhiyun Crane 2 and am probably going to team that up with a monitor.
@@spamsubie awesome thanks! I did wonder if it was actually HDMI that you were using and not USB-C or something. That is a very thin cable. Any particular brand? Thanks again mate.
great videos bruh, really appreciate your energy and the fact that you're making these videos, I recently bought a ronin s and I'm having a horrible time in underslung mode (basically I got it for car videos and underslung low shots are really important) have you used the ronin s? should I return it and get an older M? also are you stabilizing you're footage afterwards?
I do have a Ronin-S, but I personally don't like using underslung for shooting cars. I prefer using Ronin-M, I recommend finding a Ronin-MX since Ronin-M is discontinued and a bit dated - my Ronin-M is about to break on me lol
Excellent video, thank you so much. I look forward to your next episode ... I am so excited to start this new journey soon and also share my failed attempts 😂

Keep killing it man. I love the humor you bring to the tutorials. Glad you mentioned the 180 shutter degree. So many people neglect this! Subbed.

BRUH WHY IS YOUR CHANNEL SO UNDERRATED
Awesome video mate! May I ask why not opt for a 24-70 lens instead - seems like an ideal focal lens for most of the shots?🔥
Thanks! 24-70mm only has a f-stop of 2.8. The prime lenses I use offere f/1.4 which is way nicer :)

It's why I like the Z8. You get oversampling at 4K/60 in RAW, H.265, and various bit depths. Not mentioning the 8K/60 RAW that too is oversampled

Hey!.. loved the video. Quick question. How to get rid of the headlight flickering while shooting in higher fps? Thanx in advance.
Sometimes you can drop or increase the shutter speed by a little and it should get rid of the flickering 👍🏻
