Yes that terraforming is playable in tourneys without issue. The konami policy documents addresses even worse missprints (name completely gone), etc

And Here I am spending $18 on the Alt Art Winged Dragon of Ra and thinking that was a lot, Ruxin has me getting on TCG everyday looking for the cards in my childhood deck, and getting the ones I couldnt get back in the day, I have a new addiction, thanks Ruxin, lol.

Its up to judges discretion but the general rule of thumb with damaged cards. As long as u can still "read" the effect and can at least make out the card name u can play it. Foreign cards u have to have the english translation on hand
Saw a dude on tiktok who set his entire deck as not English so his opponent is less likely to search what everything does 💀

Very excited that you're finally getting into competitive Yugioh. It's so much fun if you can keep up monetarily with the meta or just have fun in the mid tier. I'm also glad you're doing this because that'll mean you actually know what you're talking about when you say a card is good or not XD.

Cards are considered playable if 2 out of 3 of the "important" parts are visible and not altered. These parts are: Name, Picture, Cardtext.
Also for that Terraforming, I see those all the time like that.
I'm not into meta but I would like to watch you sometimes dueling with this deck and the blue eyes deck
Favorite card is definitely Magician's Souls. I'll wait for the reprint on it before I get my hands on one.
2nd Place goes to Cosmic Cyclone. I've been getting burned by it on Duel Links so it has my respect.

Magician souls is just the greatest card for every spellcaster related strategie, I need 3 for my endymion deck and might be able to get them now!

I started selling cards on tcg player and I'm so meticulous when it comes to making sure they're near mint. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has gripes about people listing things as NM when it's not.
Sometimes I get a card from TCGplayer at “near mint” with an obvious corner ding and not sure if I can complain and return.
Always complain because you didn't get what you paid for; if they give crap, give them a 1 star review and contact support
What I'd do:
Sell everything. Build Cyberdark/Cyber Dragon and use the rest to build a MTG deck

Favorite card is easily Dark Magician, just since I'm such a Yugiboomer. The SDY art is my personal favorite, just cause it looks like the anime.
Nice vid Ruxin! I'm a Blue-Eyes player myself, so for favourite card I would say skill drain since I run that myself. Absolutely unfair to get out 3000 Blue-Eye beaters while oppenent can't activate effects haha. $4000 is a lot though...not surpising considering YGO prices, but if you are able to spend it have fun haha. From personal experience, TrollandToad has better record for quality control, cards are usually NM when listed as such.

I'd definitely send back the terraforming since the part of the name is missing would bug me too much. It could be due to a printing error or was unsleeved in a binder and the binder stuck to it and pulled it off (it's happened to me but I'd never leave an ulti unsleeved)
I really like these videos! Watching the deck getting built is fun. Would be cool to see you duel with this or the Blue Eyes Deck

Pretty dope video but just proves how most sellers in tcg aren’t that great sadly. I’ve had a good amount of experiences were the card was listed near mint and for a verified seller also most good reviews. And their idea of near mint is a moderately played card.

Spending 4k on a deck shows why reprints are so needed in card games. There's no reason someone has to break the bank for a card they want in their deck

I've got cards that's been sleeved or in a binder since 96, that's all the print dates. How would a non collector go by getting them graded and priced.
I have Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon as well as Magician’s Left Hand and Magician’s Right Hand in mine with three Dark Magicians and three Magician of Dark Illusion.
My son wanted a DM deck because of the anime. I keep having to buy support cards for it just so it can semi keep up with my other decks. Even Blue eyes just runs over it. I haven't bought anything of the $100 cards though. But I'm not going to put any more money into it just so it can beat a $30 deck for casual play.

Please make a PSA to all sellers about shipping their cards. "Use masking tape to seal your hardbacks, with a taper over flap/tap to pull it off". Not only does generic clear/scotch tape leave reside/gunk behind, it's also a PITA to deal with.
I’ve spent about 2,1000 on my dark magician deck. And now with the secret rare Souls and that starlight Dragoon. It’s about to be a WHOLE LOT more $$$
Also ultra rare magician souls isn’t gonna go down much. The secret rare copies are incredibly hard to pull.
the whole arguement of LP vs NM is weird cuz I, as a magic player, bought 2 $40 cards in Japanese, one being LP and the other being MP, by my standards the LP was NM and the MP was LP only minor dings to the card that could happen during transport. everyone's standards are different but as long as there aren't tears I'm happy, basically I don't expect everyone to sleeve their cards to play since some of the cards I get are so old that they might well be from someone's original deck when they were learning to play, hell I used a Japanese Magical Hats that I found soaked in rain on the side of the road for years when I was playing YGO
I love dark magician. I'm no professional, but I rock a dark magician and exodia incarnate/obliterate deck and have a lot of fun with it!

Hey ruxin, I have a question for you, can you tell me how I can make the new cards I get to not bend when I open the packs?I mean the Commons cards remain normal but the super, ultra, golden, etc. get bend after few hours(I tink is because of the temperature in the room)
magician's rod is such a cool card. the artwork is crazy!
I've seen a ulti terraforming at my locals with similar name wear. with it being the same card and rarity I would recommend looking into it. either a huge coincidence or possibly "hopefully" a factory missprint. also to answer your question, it is legal to play in tourneys

Terraforming is playable, that's a misprint, not a modified or fake card, so it's ok. I'm hoping Magician's Souls do get a reprint soon and it's easier to get, I could use them in my GK deck for sure!
The cards were really nice, but honestly, yeah... I'd return that Village of the Spellcasters ASAP.
Dark Magician and Blue Eyes deck are really fun to play and really epic for us old school players, but they're not exactly competitive nowadays. Still fun decks and amazing to see you were able to do it!

I think is so cool ,worth it hehe, i would like yo see it in action. If you feel that a card doesn't work only take out the deck, use a another card and ,maybe, the card(s) that are out the deck could be part of side deck
Missing ink like the name of that ult you bought is listed as Heavy played per Tcgplayer standard guidelines.
I wouldn't have spent that much on terraforming in the first place, the secret rare version happens to look better and is a lot cheaper but it'll be fine, its still legal.
do people play with the expensive 1st edition cards to be a baller and de value the condition? or do you just collect the 1st editions and then play with the 2nd edition card cheap cards??

I think the blue eyes deck was a better decision than this one 😂. This deck just has so many different engines- sky strikers, dogmatika apart from DM himself.

The sky strike engine is literally 2 cars in the main and 2 in the extra deck. I’ve ran both Dogmatika and no Dogmaitka several times and they do just as well as each other. 4-0 or 3-1 with DM every week

Good investment! I wouldn’t sit here and say it’s not a good deck without any knowledge on its locals play. It’s the only deck I use, I go 4-0, 3-1 every week 4 days a week. Every meta VW, Swordsoul, Phantom knights player dreads going against my DMs

I been working on a decent dark magician deck myself, at my locals i won 2nd place because mine is very consistent in bringing out my most powerful cards, sadly it was nothing against a sprite deck which was how i lost at the end lol
It would have been awesome if your Dark Magician art choices were the Bandai one and the Red Dark Magician. Those are probably my favourite

But honestly with most cards that aren't valuable, there isn't really nothing to bother with when it comes to condition when it looks good from the front since it doesn't really matter when you play and use deck sleeves.

Question, is there a reason people dont like to run Dm the dragon knight in decks like these? Imo its one of the best ones if you already have at least 1 negate on ur field so u dont have to waste it on protecting a spell/trap
