Cheryl, I’d like your address to send you a ornament from Florida for your tree. I’m a displaced Falkirk Bairn so sending you a Florida ornament would mean a lot to me.
Oh thank the lord Jasper came back , little rascal ,, we love our furry friends so much ,, great recipes, look yummy , I miss Scottish food, living in Canada, but I am home when watching you,, thank you
I was so happy and relieved to know that Jasper is back safe and sound 😀 when you said he had gone missing, the worry was so evident in your voice, I felt bad!
Very nice! Everything looked delish especially the pies and so happy to hear of Jasper's safe return. Beautiful scenery at the end with the music. Bye for now.
Everything looks so delish!! I love your vlog ❤ When we have tacos or fajitas we use finely shredded cabbage with a few squeezes of lime juice and pinch of salt. It is more traditional Mexican than lettuce and tastes great too! You might like it if you eat cabbage.
I often made Fish Pie at School, I think it was partly due to mum hating it so me and my dad has it all, Cheryl couldn’t have been feeling very well, a whole week with no baked beans
That's fun, Cheryl! In the US, fajitas almost always come with peppers and onions, which have been sautéed in the same seasoning as the meat. The sour cream, tomatoes, cheese are optional add-ons
Yea, quite odd that without them huh? 🤔 Tradee Joes sells a bag of fajita mix (tri color peppers n onions) frozen that’s nice to keep for such a day. I just don’t buy the fajita or soft taco kits from any of the brands because the tortillas always taste of chemicals to me and smell strange. So if we’re gonna have fajitas or burritos or soft tacos- I just use taco seasoning to season meat or a trader joes mix- or sometimes just whip up some from cumin, Chili powder, onion p, garlic p, s&p and buy a better brand of tortillas (we have a lot of Latin community options too) but my all time favourite taco sauce is the blue jar Ortega mild and we keep it on hand for all theses creations.
@@ChoochooseU regular grocery stores sell the same veggie mix. I don't use the seasoning blends unless I can get a no salt added version, which usually involves an online purchase of a while box (12 packets), which is what I did last time, for slow cooker salsa chicken. My go to salsa is Green Mountain Gringo's salsa medium. Enjoying right now, as a matter of fact, some mini peplers stuffed with a combo of refried beans and salsa, baked in the oven
@@LindaC616 👍🏻 sounds delish Linda! I guess what I left out is that TJ’s has a roasted version that I prefer. I’d love to find the blend elsewhere bc it’s not easily accessible for us and when we go for. tJ run we have to stock up on our favs. Lately, I leave out tortillas altogether personally, but if I go to my favourite restaurant, they hand make them and I cannot resist the homemade versions!
@@ChoochooseU I have yet to get addicted to anything out T j's. Because it's 40 minutes and over a couple of bridges for me. And even if it's natural, processed food is still processed food. I've never seen corn in fajitas before...I always get fajitas when we order out from our local Mexican restaurant...guacamole is yummy on fajitas, along with pico de gallo...
Well thank God Jasper came home. I love the cauliflower cheese bake, totally keto and meat free. Cheeseburger pasta bake is just super to, love it. We don’t have pastry in the states like you do though I can find the puff pastry but short crust I would have to make, zero beef suet. So this pie thing looks great but cannot duplicate it but maybe get close. Have a good Monday as it’s our Labor Day. Jen
Yes, not short crust or beef suet here. I do meat pie using the pie crusts you get with the biscuits. Works real well for savory as well as sweet. I do a chicken pot pie in a cast iron pan with just the top crust.
I want to come and eat at your house! These meals all look so good. I wish I could buy a mince pie like you can. We don't have anything like that in my area of the U.S. The area you live in looks so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your scenery!
Ah, yes I know that struggle with cats. When I adopted my cat he was highly traumatized, he had been an indoor cat all his life and the plan was to keep it that way. But three or four years later he snuck out into the garden and just ran. I cried the whole night but he was back for breakfast and cuddles. Eversince then he goes outside whenever he wants but usually it's just for a few hours. He spends the night inside and doesn't go too far. He's a lot happier and according to the vet healthier (probably because of the exersize) but yeah, I can definitely sympathise with your panic
That cheeseburger pasta bake looks so good. Definitely going to have to try it! I'm so glad Jasper's all right. All my cats are indoor cats which is really common in the US. I'd be terrified if they got out. We have a lot of stray cats around that would probably beat them up, plus my cats would have no idea how to survive outside.
It was a pie heavy week…but looked tasty! My mum is coming for a visit a week from today. I haven’t seen her for 27 months. Years ago, she had Scottish coworkers and I cannot wait to share these videos and recipes with her!

Isn’t it funny, I’m watching your dinner video while eating chicken fajitas! Our cat got out once and he was gone for 8 days. I was so worried. I don’t think he get any farther than the house next door hanging out with some feral cats.
Question for you Cheryl, I know your love of cayenne pepper, from your shopping hauls. Have you had the chance to try the Nashville Hot Chicken yet? I'm from the States and it is everywhere here. Googled and saw it is on many restaurant menus in the UK. I really enjoy the cayenne pepper sauce used in this dish and prefer it over the usual hot sauce, which to me is too vinegar based for my liking. Just wondering.... Thanks for your videos.
