Ask Renault, Peugeot & Citroën if this is true ... all 3 manufacturers have produced WRC winning cars. Together with Japan, it's the only country that has 3 different manufacturers (Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi) that have won the Championship.

It is easily the dumbest racing series on the planet. Possibly the universe. Dumber than NASCAR, in all its forms.
@@markmcgrath9098 Not really, like it or not the V8 utes are dead and gone due to emissions regulations so something needed to replace it. With the traditional Australian ute also being dead due to globalization these are the new vehicles that Australians are going to buy instead. A lot of motor racing is about relevance, if a racing series is irrelevant to the general public then it's going to die due to lack of viewers. The SuperUtes are a very brave step by CAMS as I don't think this sort of vehicle has been raced on tarmac anywhere in the world. It's going to take time to get it ironed out but it will happen and the racing will be as tight, if not tighter, than the V8 Utes were as, already, there is a great deal of parity between all the eligible trucks in the series. You really can't compare these to the likes of Stadium Trucks as the SuperUtes are very much production-based whereas the Stadium Trucks are very much purpose-built race machines with full tube chassis/cage units and plastic silhouette body shells. Even NASCAR started off racing production vehicles, that's why the muscle car wars were so fiercely fought in the US. The SuperUtes may appear utterly unsuited to track use, but people have raced vans in a variety of series and have had good success with them. Hell, the Volkswagen Caddy that was run in the Volkswagen Racing Cup in the UK took so many class wins that the series went through a massive rules change to outlaw it to prevent the other competitors packing up and taking their toys with them. That was a diesel too...
