My piano teacher gave me “Billie’s Song” and I so appreciate hearing the composer’s interpretation. Wonderful performance by Ms. Capers, the bass player, and retired San Mateo County Superior Court Judge and lyricist, LaDoris Cordell.
She's a treasure to Jazz and its fans. More power to her. I heard her last night with Bull Dog Drummon on base and Barry Harris and LeroyWilliams-a rare treat of seasoned Jazz musicians with decades of experience in total control of their materials. Flushing Townhall and Clyde deserve our thanks for their excellent programing and reasonable ticket prices.
You are most welcome and thank you for stopping by to listen. I'll will share your lovely note with these fabulous musicians. -- Yolanda (MarJupVen)
The pianist is sensational 👌
All I can say is Wow! I cannot wait to get my hands on this piece of music by Valerie Capers!!
I stopped by this channel after picking up some of Valerie's sheet music and I'm pleased I did! Lovely video, thanks for uploading :)
Beautiful composition and performance!
Sounds so beautiful and buoyant to the heart. :) thanks!
beautiful
Wonderful!
I appreciate you for listening, my friend.
VERY GOOD !!!! NICE !!!
Thank you very much for this sample of sensibility and good taste
Dr. Capers, and John Robinson at the bass, the dimeric duo. I wonder if they remember me, i got to jam with them at BCC. Although, they were very patient with me, I was terrible, so i am ashamed of it.
Lovely piece of music! Why are two pianists listed for this?
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful interpretation Yolanda! Do you know how to contact Ms. Capers about permission to share another video of this piece that my friend recorded? Feel free to write me at info AT crossingbordersmusic DOT org, or just write back here. Fingers crossed! Thank you!
Never seen someone play an electric bass upright lol
Isn'T that awesome? I appreciate your comment.
Wait that’s not the way your supposed to play it?
You should see him do a one hand solo, he used to do it with Hector Lavoe.
