Please don't take it " double consonant" . We don't have it.
It's just Romanji thing.Romanji system can't cover Japanese pronunciation correct.
あっさり has tiny っ。
Try to do as this video.
"A and ts and sa and ri "
Then try to make " ts" with your back throat.
