  • Hi guys, this is just an update on how is it going post-surgery after my fistula laser surgery (aka known as filac or laser therapy in some places) and I hope this will be helpful for anyone going through their own surgery recovery journey as well.

@@ccycaiyi how many days did you have dischare for

I had it for about 3 weeks, there was some spotting on the 4th week, then nothing at all.
But bear in mind though, that the doctor actually told me discharge might last for about 6-8 weeks, so I think my timeline was shorter than expected?

@ccycaiyi was it a lot during the intial days?
Its been 13 days since i got a laser surgery still quite a lot pus coming..plus my fistula was pretty deep so i think it will take quite a lot time..kinda a scary time during the healing time uk doubting if your surgery failed or not

Yes, i totally get how scary the uncertainty of it all can be, but know that you're not alone in this
For me, i think the discharge was the most during the first week, but started easing up as my external opening healed up more and more.
And do not be discouraged if you see pus and all, 13 days is still pretty early imo, i think if you dont feel increasing pain or any swelling, and you see your wound getting smaller, i think they could all be good signs and you are on the right path to healing :)
