      Thanks for reviewing but your wrong about power. The Dewalt is the most powerful by some margin. As soon as you load the Milwaukee it is clear the Dewalt is more powerful. Check other tests like Concord Carpenter. Thanks for reviewing though.

    Nice review and I like the explanations in determining the pros and cons of each. I like some Dewalt tools and own a few of the XR line, but also own both Ridgid and Ryobi. I bought the Dewalt router and find it really nice, love the overall feel but hate the adjustment compared to Ridgid and Milwaukee. I tried my buddy's Ridgid Octane router and just love it. DeWalt's mounted base is just a little nicer for stability, but not to much noticeable. I think Dewalt went with a half round/square base to avoid including a guide in the box. That's pretty petty and greedy of DeWalt IMO. I completely like the Ridgid feel and fence guide and it's a nice bonus to get them free!

    Great evaluation of each product. That crazy micro adjustment on the DeWalt is the reason that I went with the Milwaukee. I've used the day lights out of it and has not farted or hiccupped not one time. Having a wide rpm range , a large baseplate and great lighting made this a no brainer.

    I think Milwaukee and Dewalt are #1 and 2. Given what you said about Makita, I wouldn’t want to use it. I don’t want to worry about my router not sitting solidly on a work piece. In that case just use a Rotary/Dremel and call it number 1 for being so compact.

    I have owned dewalt, makita, and ryobi. I never been used rigid and milwaukee but in my opinion, dewalt is the best. the retail price for dcw600 is not as much as $199, I bought it for $129. And makita is powerful, lightweight, easy to grip, almost could be the best but it doesn't have electric brake which is very annoying.

    Don't mistake RPM for power, just because it has a high no load RPM number does not mean it has power. I'm a Milwaukee guy, almost every cordless tool I own is a Milwaukee. Having said that I just bought 2 cordless DeWalt compact routers, batteries, and a charger. It would have been much cheaper to go the Milwaukee rout since I have 15 of the M18 batteries and several chargers. The Milwaukee is a little low on power and the regular base is too small and the other base is too big. It you notice the Dewalt has a much better base that you can run along a straight edge or works great to put your fingers on the long side to keep it from tipping. The adjustment ring works well and is not difficult to move the router up or down. DeWalt also has a superior plunge base that works great. You can buy the Dewalt for $150 on Amazon so the cost is actually cheaper than the Milwaukee. If you want to see a very detailed compact router review check out Rob's video (Concord Carpenter) to see how the routers really performed in a more realistic test.

  • @thegoodfight365
    @thegoodfight365 4 года назад +1

    Thanks for the review. Is the Makita or Dewalt plunge bases compatible with any of the other trim routers. I'm a fan of Milwaukee and Ryobi. But since m18 router dropped the wonderful makita router kit has dropped the price a bit and since they're such a good line of tools I think it's a great reason to get into their line. With red, and teal tools I'd be well prepared for almost anything I need. 👍🏾 Thanks again

    The reviewer likes the fit and feel of the Rigid. Says it makes it a professional router. Ah...the Rigid and the Ryobi are virtually the same size, the operational controls are virtually identical, and the levers and knobs in the same place. The physical looks are almost the same. There are three major differences. The Rigid has a brushless motor, is variable speed, and today at Home Depot 12/04/2020, the Ryobi costs $50, and the Rigid costs $180. In the Rigid package are an edge guide and a couple of bits. I feel like this reviewer is being deceived by the brand.

    • @Dustysa4
      @Dustysa4 4 года назад +3

      @@ToolReviewZone It has been my experience that they'll find ways to not honor the LSA. Whether it's claiming that you didn't register in time, or you never registered, even when you definitely did. I have 3 products that I've registered for their LSA. Two of them suspiciously disappeared from my profile. The 3rd has been pending approval for months. They give me numbers to call, that give me more numbers to call. A quick Google search reveals I'm not alone. This shady runaround routine is their standard mode of operation. I'd take the industry standard 3 to 5 year warranty from the other 3 brands over Ridgid's hollow promises any day.

      @jimb2758 4 года назад +1

      I've had the same experience. You log into your account and it doesn't exist. You re-establish your account and your tool aren't there. You have to get approval to add your tool, you register, and a year later, it doesn't exist. I agree, it's a sham. You have to wait a certain period of time (I think 3 or 4 days) before you can register. I think they think you'll forget. All-in-all, I think it's a bullshit program that's designed to deceive all of us. I say go with the 3-year warranties from all the top line tools that feel better, perform better, and last as long as we need.

    • @robb9702
      @robb9702 4 года назад

      I also agree about the Ridgid LSA being a sham. Had the same trouble within the past year on 3 different tools. It took 30 mins for LSA to pick-up the phone every time I called. I have 5 new cordless Ridgid Tools, 2 of them only show 3-year warranty instead of the LSA. Receipts are scanned and uploaded on time. Went in store to speak with manger and told them if they didnt fix it I was returning all my Ridgid tools for false advertisement. They eventually fixed it, but it was a headache that I don't want to deal with again. However, some of the Ridgid tools are excellent in reliability, value, as well as in craftsmanship compared to the more popular DeWalt Milwaukee names.
