Jim is impressive for sure but grant bullied a cop who was also a hardman like it was nothing
Graham foster is ex special forces military and he had trouble with Cain who had trouble with Zak in his younger years
Although Jim was respected amongst prisoners in Corrie which is a good feat of strength from him
Jason had issues with Aaron and he was the hardest in their prison which shows that the average hard man of emmerdale could most likely give Jim a decent fight

Jack looses to Warren and quite easily to be honest and Nate may beat Graham but he held back in his fight against Cain

I feel Cain would loose to the people Iv put ahead of him especially the top 3 as for Vincent he was actually considered to go in the honorable mentions
Hey mate, how have you been? I also feel that quite a few of those guys could beat Cain, Cain just has more/better feats. I'd also have Nate higher than Graham these days, due to the fact he did better against Cain.

Sorry about taking a while to respond, I was half way through responding to everything you said when I realised Qasim had responded to me weeks ago and I wasn't notified by YT, also saw there were 70+ comments on that thread and thought it would be easier to wait until you started a new thread, since I had like 7 comments to post. Should have responded to both of you by tomorrow though.
A few years ago I would have agreed with you but Cain has had some fantastic feats these last few years and been almost unstoppable. I understand your reasoning for putting Nate higher than Graham but I disagree for a number of reasons. First of all the whole boat fight was stupid writing, Cain won every other physical confrontation with Nate and so it seemed like they gave Nate the upper hand for the purpose of the reveal. Second of all, Graham's skillset outranks any fighter we've ever seen on the show and has done way more in terms of output than Nate who hasn't thrown one punch to this day. Also the 'fight' that Cain and Nate had was in very close quarters which gave Nate an advantage as he was bigger than Cain and if you think about it, Graham (despite losing) technically inflicted more damage on Cain than Nate did as Cain and Nate's fight had such little substance. And also Graham has been shown to take a punch from Cain much better than Nate can and considering how much damage Graham was able to take against Pierce, I genuinely think he could have beat again had the fight continued, only reason I have Cain above him is that he won the fight fair and square. Sorry for this rant, haha, really sucks that Graham and Nate didn't even meet.
@@stevedavidson5038 Not too bad thanks! Don't worry about it, to be honest it's quite nice having a break from having loads of things to respond to. There's only a couple of things I'm really wanting to hear back from you, like your top 50 (or however many you're going to do) most powerful MCU characters and your responses to those match ups. I'm cool with you just responding to those things and a couple of others that you really want to. I'm always happy for you start a new thread too, if you want to, you don't have to wait for me to start one. I may take a while to respond too, once you have, I'm finding it more and more difficult these days.
Haha, that's fine, didn't think it was much of a rant anyway! I do remember them having one scene together, where Nate looked slightly intimidated by Graham. You've made some very good points but I think with Cain (like Phil) the writers do, for the most part, show a lot of biased towards him and have him winning fights that he shouldn't (Or that the only reason he wins them so easily, is because the other person doesn't even try to fight back) The arguments you give is one reason why I could never base a list solely on feats. Oh I completely agree, based on capability alone, I would say Graham is the number one toughest character in ED and probably in the top 4 when mixed with characters from EE but like you've said before, we do have to base (a lot of it) on what we've seen. Not sure if I agree that Graham inflicted more damage to Cain than Nate did, as Nate overpowered Cain a couple of times and headbutted him. I'd also say that in all of their other confrontations, Nate never tried to fightback, except for their first fight in the Woolpack, which seemed 50/50. I'd say Lachlan beating Aaron with his hands tied is also an example of stupid writing but a lot of people will rank him higher based on that. Marlon also beating Eli twice should technically make him higher but it doesn't, though not sure if that was circumstantial/based on bad writing. I'm with you on the fight on the boat not having any substance, I hesitate to even put it in my top 50 fights, even though it had a lot going on, and despite Phil Vs. Keanu being a carbon copy of their fight, I still thought that was better! I agree that Graham would've beaten Cain in a rematch/if they carried on fighting and he is the most durable character in Soapland (After the episode he was killed, I posted on here that he was Rasputin) I also agree with anything else you said that I haven't touched upon.
@RandomUploads2017 That's good to hear actually, takes the pressure off having to write it all really fast. You can start a new thread if you haven't already, I pretty much done with everything I wanted to say.
I agree Cain doesn't get many proper fights but after he fought Graham I changed my mind on him a lot as he proved he can win a fight even when the other person is swinging too. Totally agree, the lists should be based on what we've actually seen, that's why I don't count Andrew or Ray as hardmen and put Graham below Cain, and also I have to put Sean below Jack as he lost the fight even though Sean always seemed tougher back in the day. Well Nate did overpower Cain twice but I don't count pushing someone backwards as taking damage unless they impact with something. The first time Nate overpowered Cain, he pushed him into the floor which I'll count as a hit but the second time he just pushed him back across the boat and then headbutted him which counts as one, so that's two hits. Whereas Graham punched Cain in the stomach, got him in a chokehold and threw him across the ground at the end, that's three hits. Also, it is implied that Graham punched Cain in the face a few times during the break because Cain has face bruises despite not taking any damage to the face onscreen so that's even more damage (also a lot of people miss this but the second half of the fight actually takes place in the other side of the road because the cars are facing the opposite direction, so there was definitely some stuff we didn't see). The Woolpack fight was pretty even but I'll give it to Cain because when they were both grappling with each other Cain was able to push Nate down (also I just rewatched that fight and at the end it sounds like Nate says "Tell him to f*** off!", brilliant)! Lachlan beating Aaron has gotten a lot better with age, when it first aired I was like "wtf!?" but over the next couple of years we saw Lachlan become a great hardmen so in hindsight that scene makes a lot more sense. Eli is an anomaly because he was a skilled fighter but when it came to straight up brawling he wasn't very strong which is why Marlon seemed to match him. Although according to The Emmerdale Encyclopedia aka: Tom Higgins, Eli did punch Marlon one time so I guess that makes up for it. Yeah, the parallels between Cain vs Nate and Phil vs Keanu are uncanny, yet they're so far apart in terms of quality, when I saw Keanu punch Phil in the trailer I knew it was automatically more substantial than Cain vs Nate, where no punches were landed (although even Phil vs Keanu could have been better considering how long we had to wait for it). That's a good comparison, haha, I really wish the whole week was just Graham fighting people (Al, Jamie, Jai, Charity, Cain, Marlon), then Pierce would have a much better chance without hitting him from behind with the log.
Something I forgot to mention in my last comment was how surprised I was with your top 14 soap hardmen, or more specifically, having Vincent and Dan above Phil, do you really think in a Prime Phil would lose to in fair 1v1s against Vincent and Dan?

I find Luke a little overrated. Nate we only have seen him fight Cain. Malacy there are no clips of his feats thus far as for Jake his really tough but everyone I'v listed in the honorable mentions would beat him besides Ross.

I think jack branning is so underrated and hasnt really been beaten. Hes been sucker punched by phil a few times but when he punched phil...he literally smashed him into the air. Hes beat sean...beat lucas...beat quite a few people. I always remember he offered phil to go toe to toe with him when he first arrived and phil backed down.

I was going to add Vincent and Trevor but I feel everyone on this list would possibly beat them. Vincent was a let down while Trevor was more dangerous then hard. Sylver is more or less like Martin in EastEnders his okay but quite overrated.
