- In this video we cover why there can be condensation and water pooling in the dryer.
Easiest hack to help with this: rechargeable moisture catching bags in the dryer drum when not in use.
Watch video or check out the blog post for full explanation.
Thank you so much!!! I have been searching for an answer but could not find one
Great video! It’s sooo hot here in south Florida. My dryer just started doing this.
Thanks! I hope this helps!!
Mine too… it so frustrating 😢
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. This solved my mystery. We just returned after a two week vacation and upon checking, our house’s air intakes were clogged with tree fuzzy seed things, so the house must have been pulling air in via any way it could. Thanks again!
So much wisdom. Thank you🙏
Very useful, thank you.
Hi Kyle! Nice video!
Hi Kyle, awesome video! It answered a lot of questions regarding a condensate problem we are coming across on high rise complexes. I tried calling up there to pick your brain a little more, more so on the negative pressure that can influence the condensate problem. Sir - Is there any way to get in contact with you more? The lady hung up on and didn't let me further explain why I was calling. I know this is an odd question of me asking, however everything I have come across trying to solve this issue you pretty much summed it up in latham which is awesome. please let me know if you have time where could talk, i would really love to pick your brain more on this topic. Thank you in advance brother!
Hello! I visited the conversation and our scheduler offered to take a message, and said she couldn't transfer the call to me (lots of spam inquiries). When she told you that we're in Fredericksburg VIRGINIA, not Texas, you said never mind... I apologize if there was any misunderstanding or miscommunication on our part--we certainly do not just hang up on people. This video pretty much encapsulates the information on this topic but if wish to inquire further, shoot an email to service@thedvguys.com Thanks!
Wow! I was right! You just made my day because that’s what I was thinking and I’m not mechanically minded but I’m glad nothing is wrong with it. Would it be possible to put those little moisture catching containers like damp rid inside the dryer drum? Also, my lint screen is actually getting moist and is tending to rust. Should I just take it out and leave the lid open to allow air to pass through it to keep it dry? Thank you so much for your insight.
Great video & feedback. My question is this was happening to me, thus I just purchased a new dryer. Took the old one apart and noticed the motor might have been affected by this moisture as well ? This could also become a really bad problem ? How can you prevent that ?
Very useful thank you
Yep...I have a new dryer and there was so much water inside the drum today and it was also leaking out onto my floor. That Never happened with my old one. I just threw an old towel in and ran the dryer to solve it for the moment, but what a pain in the ass.
Such a PITA...I agree! Sorry to hear you're dealing with that. Hopefully the moisture catching bags do the trick just fine for you.
~Thanks...Going to order some of those bags!
Thank you brother!
Good info. And how many of those dryer bags would you need for outside your car right now? Thanks.
😂😂
Thank you!!!
could it be because the vent line is clogged?
We had a water pipe burst and flooded the top of our electric Whirlpool dryer. Can the water seep through the lint trap that is on the top of the dryer? If so, does the water collect inside the dryer?
That would be very unlikely.
@@thedryerventguys Would the water go down and out through the exhaust venting or get trapped along the way? If the water is trapped, can it dry out on it's own or get moldy? I've started using the dryer, but the lint caught in the lint catcher is damp.
@@hiyah_net4821 Generally moisture within the vent system evaporates/dispels on its own. The heat of the dryer takes pretty good care of that. You can run an empty cycle on heat and then see how it is afterwards.
How do I fix a hole in the line running from the dryer to the vent? I went to install a new vent and saw a hole in the flex line under my crawl space
Entire duct in crawlspace needs to be replaced with proper rigid ductwork
@@thedryerventguys so it technically needs to be rigid tube
Will dryer mess up after a while due ti moisture ?
Maybe if it is extremely excessive. This could cause corrosion.
What's the Brand of the bag thanks in advance.
We don't have a specific brand that we recommend. 👍🏻
Which bags are they?
Cut the vent hose behind the dryer short enough to fit just enough behind the dryer. Usually always does the trick.
Hey thanks for this reply! Unfortunately, this is unrelated to the problem of water in the dryer. Technically it could just make it worse--the more efficient the dryer vent is the more easily humidity can get sucked through it into the cool dryer. Obviously we want the dryer vent as efficient as possible, so that's just a technicality...but shortening the transition duct is an awesome move because it makes it more efficient.
