I have a friend that started working at a local veterinary office while we were in high school. She started as someone to walk the dogs, scoop litter, clean cages but she had horses her whole life as well as pets & seeing gow well she was with the animals they started training her as a vet tech. She assisted with doggy C sections pretty regularly & during a very intense emergency surgery one of the puppies just wouldn't take a breath no matter how much they stimulated, tried forcing fluid out or breaths they gave so they had to set it aside to work on Mom & the other puppies. During all the madness the pup got knocked onto the floor & a few moments later when my friend bent down to pick it up she heard little grunts coming from the towel & was thrilled to see the puppy was alive. At first she was horrified thinking they'd dropped a live puppy but the vet said it was likely the impact of the fall that revived the pup, it's rare but it does happen apparently.

When are people going to stop blaming dogs based off breed rather than blaming irresponsible and ignorant humans that do zero research on what it takes to care for a powerful animal?
for sure. some dogs don't work well with other dogs, some are more loyal to their owners. they aren't bad, they have different jobs for different breeds. the only bad ones are the humans teaching and enforcing aggressive behaviors, or lack of any teaching. you shouldn't adopt an animal willy nilly without doing your research; learn up on breed specifics and what to be aware of (bite force, tendencies, etc.) if knowingly adopting one.
The hotdog shaped dogs there originally a cross this is why they have so many spine problems and rib problems their bodies haven’t adapted to the shape of themselves which is very most of them have short lifespans
I have a pit/mastiff mix and he is the most docile non aggressive dog ever. Except if an intruder broke in then I’m sure he’d attack the guy. I’ve never met an aggressive pit in my life. Oh and my dog I adopted at 5 yrs old, he was neglected and physically beaten by his owner, despite that he’s still the nicest dog ever and great with all adults, kids and dogs. However he does like to chase cats but that’s it.
Enjoy this show so much! I may have seen some of these before...a good thing about getting older is that I can re-watch shows and re-read books and enjoy them all over again!
$200K hip implant + the cost of the procedure. These must be very rich people to afford this. We have spent so very much money on our own dog baby who is now elderly and has a major health issue. Taking her tomorrow to the vet, and I am not looking forward to it. She gets so anxious that I fear she will have a heart attack just entering the office. But she has to get help for this constantly bleeding growth under the base of her tail. She is suffering, but my husband will not even consider or talk about ending her suffering. It is breaking our hearts. And we will have to sell our car to afford treatment for her. I can't even get my teeth fixed because of our finances. My dog and my husband take precedence over my own health. And that is OK. I've already given up my beloved family cabin portion to keep our home. It's almost gone just to the Dr.'s and dentist for the two of us. I need two more teeth worked on and they will just have to rot out until I can afford to get them pulled. This dentist refuses to pull the teeth...so will have to find the cheapest one to do it for me. It is hard getting old.
I’m so glad I can just watch these on RUclips, I used to watch it when I was younger and it’s what’s inspired me to start training to be vet and just listening and watching these whilst doing my coursework has been so invigorating 😊😊😊😊
My umbrella cockatoo got one of those bells stuck on the end of her tongue. I was giving comfort to the vet who thought Kahlua could lose the tip of her tongue. The vet clamped pliers on the bell, then Kahlua clamped down on the pliers. I told her to let the vet do what she needed to do, she opened her beak and the bell came off. No issues with her tongue at all, and the vet was grateful that I had a large parrot that was so easy to work with...
It's not as simple as just removing the leg. Large breeds have a lot of weight on their limbs. Removing a leg puts alot of awkward pressure on their backs and remaining limbs.
If you had listened carefully, it was discussed. One of her front legs is not being used because of an earlier situation involving a car. If the rear leg was not fixable, she would only have 2 legs, 1 front and 1 back.
It's very bizarre. This happened in season 1 episodes too. For example, they strenuously avoided double amputating a cat because she supposedly wouldn't have quality of life. It's like they've never heard of mobility devices, or even cats getting around on just two front legs. I don't get it.
What an amazing job these guys do... I love them all but Dr Chirs.... just wow! As cute as pugs are, I wish they’d put laws in effect to prevent the breeding of purebreds. Honestly, why not breed them with other small dog breeds with a longer snout and pelvis? Still have them be “pugs” but make them functional without breathing and birth issues.
There's a sort-of effort to give pugs their snouts back, they're called retro pugs and don't have the same breathing issues or shallow eye sockets like common pugs. Not too sure about the pelvic issues, but breeding more ethical pugs is a thing!
"i don't beleive all pitties are bad but do a dna test to make sure she doesn't have any pittie in her cause i won't adopt her if she does" genuinely one of the modt infuriating segments of this season
Those DNA tests aren’t even accurate. There is no pit bull DNA set, it is a set of PHYSICAL characteristics (nose, facial structure) etc that results in many dogs completely genetically unrelated from pit bulls being put down anyway just because they meet some of the physical criteria eg larger staffies.
Also weird to have the dog around her kid before finding out if it's a "vicious breed" if that was her concern. Plus she needs to realize just cause it isn't a pitbull doesn't mean it will just be great with kids. Dogs have personalities independent to them. She made me really mad in so many ways honestly.
The owner of Toska is incredibly irresponsible for not getting her dog fixed, and also rubs me the wrong way with how she was gonna put the blame on her boyfriend for their dogs getting into a fight when that's her responsibility as well to help the dogs work through their issues.
Agreed, plus it sounds like Toska is the aggressor in the first place. People don't take it seriously when a smaller dog is growling and snarling at other dogs but it very easily could lead to them getting in a fight!
@@abigailsmith6000 fr i havent even finished that part of the episode, i feel this so much. if a dog is growling aggressively at anything, it should cause some concerns even if it's a minor thing, you wouldn't know when that minor thing becomes something major like this situation
@@ChristineSpeller01 I think season 2 was filmed at least 10 years ago. In Season 1, I saw that the computer showing a lab result that was taken on April 2008.
Danny's owners need to Take more responsibility of their golden retriever by checking the dog over spraying the dog with tick and flea treatments. Spraying the yard, getting tick collar or whatever it takes to stop the dog getting another tick. Third time might not be so lucky. No signs just do the right thing.
i thought this too. Here in the states, we have prevention meds for Ticks & Fleas (also mosquitoes). Ticks here only carry Lyme disease, and I've never heard of paralysis ticks.
I absolutely love this show since vets hardly ever get the recognition they deserve. As someone who works in the field I absolutely love this. My only gripe is I hate how these shows over dramatize things by playing over sound clips of the animals instead of just going with the sounds they make in the moment and leaving it at that. Stop replaying sounds to make people uncomfortable or add more where there doesn't need to be more.
These episodes really hit home. I had a pet pygmy goat that someone poisoned. Seeing the puppy go through what it did...I'm so glad it survived. The horse even looks like the pony I had that someone killed (they excised a portion of one of her arteries and made her run until she dropped), again, so glad it was okay. The cockatiel reminded me of Horatio, a cockatiel I had who died last fall; we had been together for over 18 years. She was quite the bird (yes, Horatio was female, but when I got the bird I was told it was male, several months later the bird laid an egg). It was good to see one of those feisty fluffbudgets being its very special self. Leroy was a bright spot and reminded me of the lambs I helped bottle feed when I was a kid (my mother kept a small flock for wool and meat). It was really great to see so many people who clearly love animals and do everything humanly possible to help them be happy and healthy.
I'm so sorry about what was done to some of your precious animals. How vile. So glad you can see these other animals in similar circumstances thrive, though❤
One thing you notice is that the smaller dogs aren't running to their owners, shaking with joy to see them, but almost all the bigger dogs, mainly the German sheperds and golden retrievers, do shake with joy
I do believe that having a few things like blanket bed that the dog loves would help them a little. Not to the exstream the girls have done. These vets are so wonderful!!🤩🥰
Whatever diagnose those two girls have, they are obviously not fit to own animals since they don’t understand how to take care of them. That dog is not a human child! Let it live a dog life, geez
Pugs are dogs with difficult puppies birth, please never let Bella get pregnant again. Brachycephalic dog breeds already have troubles to breathe, why breed them?
The only brachy breeds I can think of off the top of my head that can be bred ethically are certain lines of pugs and frenchies… however, it is unlikely, only really found in rare new lines that are specifically being bred to improve the health of the breed (essentially undoing what irresponsible breeders have been doing to them for centuries making breathing hard and natural birthing impossible). Seeing these new lines is really emotional because you can tell how much happier they are than the others of their same breed. They’re known as ‘retro’ lines.
As a dog groomer, I have a lot of shih tzu dogs come in and some of them are so snotty and their legs are just bowed in. But I see more and more ones with longer snouts and straight legs and it makes me happy cause they can breath and my job much easier cause it's easier to wash their faces.
The pug dog at 08:46 was so pretty though! Not the inwards bred face, but a more natural shape to it. That is great and so much more ethical! Gotta love to see dog breeds bred more correctly 🥰
Okay umm, I've been attacked & bitten by lots of small, "safe," dogs; I've been around several, Pitties, who have been nothing but sweet & super kissy/licky. If you don't socialize your animals around frantic children/other animals, you're going to have that dog not behave well & possibly bite. Any dog, can be a, "bad dog," if they're treated poorly or not trained well.
Smaller dogs get away with nasty temperaments because “hahah funny” since their potential for harm is low. So they are enabled by their owners. :/ I hate to see it happen to my dog, but dad and mom keep encouraging our medium-small dog to be a “guard dog” when he gets really angry at people walking past out house. 🙄 There’s a difference between being a guard dog trained to protect your territory and encouraging them to hate any and all strangers :X
To anybody from the United States living in Florida feline leukemia and feline AIDS is everywhere so please make sure you vaccinate your cats and check cats and quarantine them before you introduce them in your household
So much this! I highly recommend a FLV test for any cat you're bringing into your home regardless of where you live. It can be so devastating to lose even one animal, but for something so contagious that it can easily wipe out half your family? Please TEST before you bring an animal into your home!
Its not so ok, going on banning pitbulls in general of being a dangerous race - I thought we got over that😢. It depends on the HUMAN making a mad person out of any dog. Poor little snowy is NOT GUILTY and educated well he won‘t harm😮
There to many idiots out there with them and not training than you have backyard breeders bringing puppies that probably have mental issues or poor health which makes it even worse for the breed
@@sugercookie14 Definitely, I wonder if there's actually genetic evidence that all pitbulls are more violent, or if it's just because it's more apparent when an owner is neglectful, or someone actively getting pitbulls because they have the reputation for violence and training them to be extra violent. Correlation rather than causation
I own a pit bull. I think what needs to be respected is that bully breeds are incredibly strong, we’ve bred them to be strong. so if they aren’t raised correctly, if that strength isn’t respected, they can hurt people and other animals if they feel insecure or challenged. Any dog can bite in certain situations, but a chihuahua (who fail temperament tests more that pities, btw) for example, aren’t gonna do the same damage that a pit bull will.
The kind lady with the Siamese kitty said the best thing that can be said about her beautiful cat. It can be applied to all animals that are pets and family members
Those were the days. The new edition of the show is good, but doesn't hold up to the original gang. Hope all these fantastic vets are doing well in beautiful Oz.
moose, grizzlies, cougars, wolves, prairie rattlesnakes, black widows, polar bears (which are one out of a very small group of animals that have been known to actively hunt humans), wolverines, lynx, orcas, geese, bald eagles, the list goes on and on. there isn’t a single place in the world that doesn’t have loads of dangerous animals, however dangerous doesn’t mean human killers; and don’t get me wrong, it happens, but very very few animals actually want to harm us, they truly are more scared of us than we are of them
It’s not possible for all cats that’s why an organization near me has a barn cat program that specifically adopts out to farms/large properties for difficult cases and cats that haven’t done well in homes/enclosed spaces
Pitbulls are lovely, goofy, loyal, affectionate dogs. Their temperment has everything to do with their upbringing, not their breeding. Stop blaming the breed and start putting the blame where it belongs, with the owners! All dogs need to be properly trained and socialized! Any dog that is not properly socialized or trained can be fearful, or even attack other dogs or people! Taking your dog to obedience training not only gives you more piece of mind and an easier dog to handle, but it also gives the dog confidence. Which helps in keeping them calm and secure in almost any kind of situation.
I'm listening to them talking about how Atomic Betty is dangerous and I'm thinking to myself, "she's big, yeah, but she's a retic and no one's going in there alone. If she wraps Dr. Chris, uncoil from the tail. It's scary, but it's not awful". They do have big teeth, though that's because they're just big in general. EDIT: I realize that Atomic Betty isn't a pet, so she isn't socialized. In my part of the world experienced people keep retics as pets, and most keepers train them to know that a tap with a snake hook means they're being taken out for some floor time and not being fed. Everything with a mouth can bite. My adorable little dwarf rabbit can bite. The bigger the animal, the bigger the risks. The deaths they're talking about retics being responsible for are from wild retics in the wild. They're not inherently lethal if you know what you're doing. And these people clearly do. Thank you for coming to my SnakeTalk.
I mever expected for Deano to adopt that rabbit. Really wanted it to be someone like Hoppo, Box or H man. I know he'd take great care of him but i think it would be funny. Love Deano, though.
My then 16yr chihuahua stopped making even slightest sound 2yrs ago. My 19yr shihtzu died of cancer. She was a rescue we only had 4yrs. Very outgoing. Chihuahua was like a grouchy old man with her,I'm still flabbergasted at how her death has affected him. He's been to vet and there's no medical issues. Oh what I would give to hear him speak
I don't understand why she was so terrified of that dog having pitbull in it.. I have a full blooded blue nose pit & he is the best dog ever! He is so loving to his pack (us.. his family) & so protective of us. He is great with his older sister (Princess our Chihuahua) & his younger brother (a baby Rottweiler) He isn't aggressive unless someone gives him a reason to be. He would gladly give his life for ours in a heart beat. ❤
She's a coward persuaded by Facebook media, that's why. When you're a dog owner, the most dangerous breeds listed generally across the US, if not the world, include Australian shepherds/pomeranians/chihuahuas. Not pitbulls or bull dogs in general. They're more top 10 or 15. I know this because Australian shepherds are so territorial that being near their home at all pisses them off. And my mom was merciful not reporting the one that tore into her hand because my home state changed the 10-bite rule to 1 bite. That means if you bite once, you're being put down as soon as it is reported, for those who -stupidly- have no idea.
She may have wanting to explain the size and bite strength of the dog, just to put it into perspective Edit: Ok, I see that there were different pitbull mentions now. I was referring to scruffy, the puppy that was attacked. Maybe she's worried about the prey drive? She did mention having a toddler.
Beautiful cats. So sorry to hear about the male with feline leukemia. But glad to hear the female was negative. Thank you Dr. Lisa for such the hard work you do for all the animals that come your way. ❤ You do what you can. You're not God. There is only so much you can do. Gotta leave the rest up to God. 🙏💜🙏
I used to work as a dog trainer assistant and we worked with dogs of all ages and breeds. The pitbulls we worked with had responsible owners who were dedicated and willing to learn how to work with their dogs temperament and personality. In our behavioural groups (dogs with behavioural problems) I never once saw a pitbull, most of them were common family dog breeds such as golden retrievers, labradors, terriers etc.
Boneo and Juliette is super cute and I’d fully expect to hear that from Chris! He’s such a funny guy! Love him and heart for ALL animals. I’d love just one day following him to learn ANYTHING!!
I keep being baffled by people who let their dogs/cats roam outside without a leash on, even when said pet already got into trouble from being loose. Do people not know they should have their pets on a leash, and can have their cats just.. stay indoors? The negligence is mindboggling.
When I was a kid we actually couldn't have our cat stay indoors, because we had a dog thst would have accidents when he couldn't get outside at night, thus the need for a doggie door...thankfully Denny was a sweet boy and rarely left the yard!

Dr Chris has such a great sense of humour, I love that ! And Dr Andrew, is such a brilliant doctor and also a sweetheart!
Diesel the doggy could have had a wonderful, pain-free life on three legs. Yet that was never even talked about. It's a valid option.
They did discuss it. You didn’t listen.
They did discuss it. You didn’t listen.
Fantastic vet series and dedicated vets who help pets to get better and dedicated owners who have pets.
All Bondi vets are so wonderful. Ya gotta love the work they do. Getting up 2xs. In the middle of the night Dr. Chris. That's love and dedication.
Pam was amazing holding the snake bag for him!! Adorable!
I just so much love the guy from the Reptile park....he is so loving to his animals, and understand them. How he could see the crock is with pain???
What an amazing job these guys do... I love them all but Dr Chirs.... just wow! I love how much he really cares for all the animals ❤️ no matter what animal he really does do all he can to save them all.... Dr Chris u are simply the best... if I ever get the chance to come to oz I really want to come and meet u 😂❤ I love watching bondi vet thank u to u all who do such an amazing job with all the animals ... much love and respect to u all ❤
As cute as pugs are, I wish they’d put laws in effect to prevent the breeding of purebreds.
Honestly, why not breed them with other small dog breeds with a longer snout and pelvis? Still have them be “pugs” but make them functional without breathing and birth issues.
@@tripsupstairs Then the breed standard needs to be changed. If a creature can’t so much as give birth then it really shouldn’t be supported.
There's a sort-of effort to give pugs their snouts back, they're called retro pugs and don't have the same breathing issues or shallow eye sockets like common pugs. Not too sure about the pelvic issues, but breeding more ethical pugs is a thing!
@@catboysephiroth560 that’s wonderful to hear!
Chugs address that , on bòth issues
Not the governments job lol
Yay, the pups and their mom are doing well!
"i don't beleive all pitties are bad but do a dna test to make sure she doesn't have any pittie in her cause i won't adopt her if she does" genuinely one of the modt infuriating segments of this season
For real! I honestly worry about the pup she has. The second that dog acts slightly out of line it'll get out on the curb. So unfair
Yeah and hello a Staffy is a pit bull or one of the breeds that fall under the pit bull umbrella.
That little lamb actually looked so happy being carried 😍
When you said lice, i started itching and scratching 😂
I didn't expect a pelican to be in a car, I mean imagine being a car next to Chris and seeing a pelican
And Chris was so nonchalant about having lice crawling on him. Made my skin crawl just thinking about it. 😱😬😵
@@mskayla7747 I know, I would go in the shower or something
Pelicans creep me out I would look away.
A bird that can swallow other birds whole……alive……nope. I’m good 😳
Only surprise is Dr Chris didn't have the Pelican driving 😁
I am just sad Dr. Chris left. I know we all have to move on, but I enjoyed his humor.
He left? Oh no!
@@ChristineSpeller01 I think season 2 was filmed at least 10 years ago. In Season 1, I saw that the computer showing a lab result that was taken on April 2008.
I won’t watch Bondi Vet without Chris. He’s the best part of the show next to Lisa and Andrew and Neil! Love them
all.
Nooooo 😢
@@tattycakes2k2 hes in episodes i just watched from season 5 don’t worry!
He gave a good fight I’m in tears 😭 RIP Brohdi
It’s so sad to me because it seemed like he was beating it, despite the fact that the cause was still a mystery. 😢
I know😭
He was so beautiful.
Stop replaying sounds to make people uncomfortable or add more where there doesn't need to be more.
it’s a show, every show does that, realistic or not
These episodes really hit home.
THE DUCKLINGSSS😫🙌🏽😭
Lucky meows like a human imitating a cat... i love him
DEANO!! Love him. So glad he adopted the bunny.
I am sorry to hear that Dr. Chris is no longer on the show. He has so much empathy.
Simple- people want money. That’s all they care about, not the animals wellbeing.
Love Dr. Chris! I love his personality & accent. All the vets are awesome!
Meg the Koala just broke my heart. I've seen a clip of her baby problems before and when she cries in pain it hurts muh heart! ❤❤
Oh the precious little girl watching over the pelican with concern and awe.
That beautiful staffy boy is just the sweetest baby in the world
The pug dog at 08:46 was so pretty though!
I hate to see it happen to my dog, but dad and mom keep encouraging our medium-small dog to be a “guard dog” when he gets really angry at people walking past out house. 🙄 There’s a difference between being a guard dog trained to protect your territory and encouraging them to hate any and all strangers :X
Ok Im gonna say it but Dr Chris with Bindi's puppies Just melts my heart.
Happy birthday Chris
Its not so ok, going on banning pitbulls in general of being a dangerous race - I thought we got over that😢. It depends on the HUMAN making a mad person out of any dog. Poor little snowy is NOT GUILTY and educated well he won‘t harm😮
There to many idiots out there with them and not training than you have backyard breeders bringing puppies that probably have mental issues or poor health which makes it even worse for the breed
As they say, there is no such thing as a bad dog, only a bad owner.
They are banned in the UK.
I have so much respect for animals and vets they really do try there hardest
The kind lady with the Siamese kitty said the best thing that can be said about her beautiful cat. It can be applied to all animals that are pets and family members
Those were the days. The new edition of the show is good, but doesn't hold up to the original gang.
Hope all these fantastic vets are doing well in beautiful Oz.
I really enjoyed these episodes! I'd love to visit Australia, but I'm glad I live in a place with very very few dangerous animals!🇨🇦
Ah me to but I'm in America 😂
Yep that makes 2 of us 🥹
moose, grizzlies, cougars, wolves, prairie rattlesnakes, black widows, polar bears (which are one out of a very small group of animals that have been known to actively hunt humans), wolverines, lynx, orcas, geese, bald eagles, the list goes on and on. there isn’t a single place in the world that doesn’t have loads of dangerous animals, however dangerous doesn’t mean human killers; and don’t get me wrong, it happens, but very very few animals actually want to harm us, they truly are more scared of us than we are of them
go to western australia :) i travelled to WA for 4 weeks and didn’t see a single snake.
I'm Australian, totally understand. The place is heaving with monstrous creatures 😂😂😂
The bondi life guard crossover we all wanted
I don’t want to sound negative but ALL cat owners really should keep their cats inside. It’s the best place for them as pets.
It’s not possible for all cats that’s why an organization near me has a barn cat program that specifically adopts out to farms/large properties for difficult cases and cats that haven’t done well in homes/enclosed spaces
AMEN!
As a daughter of a vet I agree barn tend to be away from public roads so they are great pest control
thank you dr. brown
His tombstone "Constricted by Atomic Betty" 😂😂
“george went in the ocean. he didn’t like it”
“you live in the ocean. you like it”
"He knows you ran him over" says the Vet towards the lady who ran over her dog 😂
I had an older dog who had the same issue as Boris. Had us frightened for a week, but he got better and finally passed rather peacefully a year later.
Dr. Chris, you are so funny. Even at 6:30 am. Bonio and Juliette. 😂😂
I think it is really amazing what they are doing and how much they care about the animals and that they dont give up on the animals.
WoW, amazing, he got the fish hook out.
Which helps in keeping them calm and secure in almost any kind of situation.
love the series
Sandy is a prime example of "keep your cats indoors"
Splodge is simply adorable, and smart.
I am so sorry Bohdie.😢😢😢
Omg I just realized that 1:03:40 is like a combo of my two fav shows! I couldn’t be happier
Edit: bondi rescue is the other show
I mever expected for Deano to adopt that rabbit. Really wanted it to be someone like Hoppo, Box or H man. I know he'd take great care of him but i think it would be funny. Love Deano, though.
Kiko is so cute. Poor little puppy. 😢 Glad she is under Dr. Lisa's care and her crew.
BONDI VET TO THE RESCUE 🙏
Well, I guess I know what I'm doing with my Sunday
Puppy yelling are the beautifull Sound in the World ❤😅
My then 16yr chihuahua stopped making even slightest sound 2yrs ago.
She may have wanting to explain the size and bite strength of the dog, just to put it into perspective
Edit:
Ok, I see that there were different pitbull mentions now. I was referring to scruffy, the puppy that was attacked. Maybe she's worried about the prey drive? She did mention having a toddler.
Thank you Jane for helping out!! 💕💕
The duck scene had my heart racing
That little calf tied up with a collar broke my heart and then they stick that little dog in a hot outside kennel with a tin roof. 🥺💔
Eat the biscuits and shut up 😂😂
Dr. Chris you took your pelican for a car ride! Did he behave? We're you okay?
The pelican biting the vet is just so funny imo
It will be really Nice if you post it for all the other season ❤ @bondi vet
I keep being baffled by people who let their dogs/cats roam outside without a leash on, even when said pet already got into trouble from being loose. Do people not know they should have their pets on a leash, and can have their cats just.. stay indoors? The negligence is mindboggling.
When I was a kid we actually couldn't have our cat stay indoors, because we had a dog thst would have accidents when he couldn't get outside at night, thus the need for a doggie door...thankfully Denny was a sweet boy and rarely left the yard!
So glad mari has/had caring parents, she is very adorable.
