But yeah, it's easy to be a jerk when you were a star as long as James Brown was. Instead, he was exactly what you said...proud. Proud of what that young man had become.

I first saw JB at a very small club called The Echo Lounge in Brighton, Mass. back in 1967 and he was mesmerizing. I was but a shoe shine boy at the age of 12 that squirmed my way in off the street to see James sing and dance. He was truly infuckincredible~!
I find it ironic that in 2003, they will share the stage again on an award show and James died like....almost three yrs later? Then Michael died 3 years after him.
It gets even weirder still...Aaliyah died on the 25th, as did Lisa ''lefteye'' Lopes, Tupac was 25 when he died and Biggie died in the second week of March (2) and was born in the fifth month (5) -25!!!.....scary shit!
I love how over the years the orchestra arrangement really grew.. I think this is one of JB's GREATEST songs. He was the hardest working man in show business.
