    There's 4 new units planned but they will NOT be added when the season starts. I do not know their timetable, but i suspect they will be released one by one and the first one pretty soon probably, but not quite yet. Yes very accurate information.

      Every new unit provokes new balance patches, so 2-4 weeks between new units to test the balance sounds reasonable for me.

    Regarding your question about people hiding their MMR, I can share my experience. In Mechabellum, I’m not planning to use this option when it becomes available, but in Mordhau (a medieval FPS), it’s possible to hide both your rank and account level. I use this feature because, despite having 1300 hours in the game, I’ve never aimed to be good, and some players with just 150 hours can easily defeat me. By hiding both my MMR and account level in non-ranked games, I avoid mockery and pressure in the chat, which allows me to keep playing for fun without feeling the need to justify my playtime.
    Thanks for covering all the Mechabellum updates since the beginning. We’re all hyped to see how the game will evolve with version 1.0 ! :D

    Hiding MMR is going to be great because I notice people who have higher MMR dodge matches before they start (since if they lose they lose more MMR and gain less for winning). Hiding it will solve that.

      I was doing the opposite. I was intentionally hunting high mmr players to steal more mmr and tactics XD

    One thing I hate is micklicking before starting the next round, like building the wrong unit by mistake, which can really mess up the game.
    Imo as long as you don't hit ready, you should be able to undo actions.

    I'd like to see a specialist where techs no longer escalate in cost, maybe even are cheaper the more you buy on a unit, but units purchased after a certain round escalate in cost. That might be really hard to balance but something like that that changes a core aspect of how the game is played at the fundamental level. I agree they have been pretty tame with the specialists.

    Your take on the whole mirroring matchups is correct in competitive sense. However, the games longevity and casual user count greatly benefits from RNG. The card drops are already mirrored, yet controlled RNG. I feel like the rare unit specialists are fine so far. In the end the game is an auto battler, and the RNG aspect has to exist for both the ranked grind and wacky clips/comps.
    It perhaps might be better if the specialists don't get unit drops, but get enhancements in certain units from the start? Kinda feels like it would play into the mind game aspect as well.

      @@SurreyEZ Yeah, but this gives more 'character' to each game. Again, I agree with you on the competitive standpoint. This game is almost like chess or Go.

    love it if instead of language filter they had the option for an ai translator, be so nice to be able to chat with folks from all over ingame. re the new specialists, perhaps they are preloading them in response to future plans for new units etc.

    I think tying it to combat power is good. It means people can get rewards regardless of what they like to play. I really like doing the puzzles where you get dropped into a losing round and figure out the best way to turn it around. That doesn't give MMR, but does give combat power. There should be a few things you can only get with a high MMR for a bigger flex, though

      my problem here is that the league names they choose are usually indicator of skill in other games so people associate like a master player to be very good at the game

      @@SurreyEZ I listened to this at work and my brain just assumed bronze/silver etc were based on ranking and the rewards were combat points. That's what I get for not paying enough attention to the rat

    @SurreyEZ I requested MMR to be hidden from the devs in the steam page discussion. Really glad (and very much surprised) they actually did it. Hopefully this makes me care less about results and kick my own ass less when losing.

    I think it could have been more natural if they made giants do damage based on remaining health of the unit at 25% intervals. So 76%-100% would do 400 damage while 0%-25% would do 100. Make the breakpoints visible on the healthbar UI. Seems more natural than breaking from the damage = unit cost model.

      Yeah that’s a cool idea.. like if you just have one rickety boat all shot full of holes at the end of a round, it would do less damage
      The only thing is it would make games longer. It would throw off the whole balance

    Its really annoying that its comabt power based for season rewards. So when i play with low MMR friends in fun FFA custom games or 2v2s or whatever, if we lose it makes it harder for me to get my season rewards.

    I really like the mmr thing. Would be cool to completely turn it off for a week/month. I have anxiety from playing mmr games in mechabellum because I see the game ultra-fair so all losses tell me that my iq is slightly lower than the one of my oppos lmao. Plus if you add numbers into consideration, it becomes more depressing somehow. I was on winning streak and had 1,7. Seeing it drop to 1,5 made me quit for a week, did not play since.

      Yea it's a rollercoaster. Usually if your "normal mmr" is for example 1500, your mmr range can vary from lets say 1200 to 1800 because of variance. Then once you have been on the high end of your curve, every other mmr number seems meaningless

      @@SurreyEZ plus you cant blame your poor results on anyone else like in dota or cs, also no scripts like in 1v1 game of fifa with p2w so yeah pretty brutal to suck. But yoy can always make an argument that if you play of meta ca meta you should not be bothered that hard. But last loss I was trying to win with complete meta and still lost. This was sad xd

      I totally understand this feeling and it took me some time to think of my losses as an opportunity to learn (and work with replays) no matter how painful it felt to be outsmarted in the moment

    Unity can suffer from a memory leak loop that slows the game over time. I once spent a long time trouble shooting it with the devs of Hyper Light Drifter as even that simple 2d game because unplayable after an hour or so.

    Yes the mmr makes a big difference from my POV, I have time to focus during the weekend and smash thru , but i hate that i Siting down for over the week for 2 games after work and seeing that MMR fall. I just want to play "non competitive"

    A lot of new stuff makes me interested to download again, but it seems they're going further in the direction of more rng, frequent changes, and outside-of-core-gameplay stuff rather than adding strategic depth. It's such a great concept of a game but a bit too thin for me as a strategic game, and I like simple strategic games.

    I think the rare units should be changed to appear in the drops even if they're already unlocked by one of the players (not even limited to specialist starts) as they don't have a cost so it wouldn't be a disparity.

    I wonder why they never turned rapid deployment into an starting specialist. Would make for far more interesting setup than all those specialists that now gatekeep certain units from the other player.

    I decided I'm not playing the game anymore if they don't remove the Mobile Beacon, it's a very stupid mechanic for an autobattler. So I guess my MMR will start going down 10% by 10% from 1950. Had fun though.

    Id rather all units accessible no rare but keep the unit specialist. And maybe their perk is they have access to all tech that unit could have rather the 4 you brought in.

    Leagues based on combat power seems odd, because isn’t that based on how much you play, whereas mmr is how good you are?

      Yea it's very strange to me, but it's possible they are making the CP algorithm better. In every other game I have played being in master or diamond or whatever is an indication of your skill level. Now it seems it's just an indication of how much you play.
      I think it's very misleading. You see 2 master players but the other one is like 50x better player

      Commercially it’s smart though. Just by playing more you get that feel-good factor of being a “Master”. Though the best players still stick out by winning tournaments.

      They introduced very similar pictures couple months earlier for 2-3 days and there was a huge backslash from the community because of it and then they replaced the new specialist art with the old art

    In my opinion the unit selling for 100% value and then going to giants or air is the biggest coin flipping problem in this game. I saw that in 1v1 in 3 games in row VS fangs plus fortress and still couldn't do anything against it. The game is dead in my eyes, it's not skill when he loose 3 rounds in a row and then sell and random switch and troll the strategic part in this game and wins the game because ur units are now totally useless.

      thats literally the most skilled part of the game, taking the deployment hit from selling and transitioning into something else

      So doing random actions is skill? And the opponent who won 3 rounds then gets stomped because his units do not work anymore VS the deleted old one and he is unskilled? It's just the typical coin flipping 30% chance to guess what he goes for and a way to bring losers back into the game.

      I know what u mean. Let me describe it more detailed.
      They always do the same strategy and it still works. They start round 1 with placing tarant or balls with fangs or crawler in aggro position one side. I normally go mid area middle pos. I see it and counter their tarant or balls. He looses 2 or 3 rounds of 4. Then he starts selling tarant or balls. He goes on placing front line aggro mostly fortress. U 100% loose this round. Then guessing starts. U must counter the first fortress. Then he backdoor you or continues stupid placing aggro with 0 skill. From this point if you guess wrong side you also start losing. 50% of these games I can hold the next rounds or can continue counter it. But I have seen dozens of games where he simply backdoors like an idiot on 1 single point and even if you put the same amount on money there u still lose to the aggro build.
      Now to conclusion : the only reason why u lose is because he transfers his mistake into same money of higher unit that randomly can be placed at another side. And you can only react to it. And if you guess wrong side of the map for example, you lose. There are 2 problems in it that makes a normal game impossible. 1. His aggro play that I knew does not get punished. 2. I knew that he follows fangs fortress but this combo is too overpowered when you guess wrong side where he continues placing. So it's like aggro placing does not get punished because he defends it by selling and aggro with another unit. There is no stone paper anymore and simply going all in all the time with a overpowered combo of fangs and fortress.
