Thank you Anne. That was really helpful and clear.
An excellent presentation Anne, thank you. By your and many other accounts, the process is simple and painless, and is there for a good reason given today's circumstances which require extra vigilance. Best wishes,
@@AntPDC I agree. It makes sense for countries to implement this, as the US has for foreign travelers for quite some time.
Thanks a lot, upon research for my impending trip to UK, hadn't realized the "travel laws" had changed. Very well explained!
thank you, well explained

Edit: subbed
Thank youuuu, this was really helpful! Does it ask any questions of your trip plans? (Dates, Hotel stay etc)?
@@prissiexmoon No, it didn’t ask anything about that at all. My understanding is the authorization to the EU will ask that. We will see!
Thank you for your help. I will try the online application tomorrow for UK. My concern is for EU ETA application. I know they are not taking forms yet. I read somewhere the form would be ready to submit in March for starting April. I am concerned because I travel to Paris first then London April 20th. I have been traveling for over twenty years but this is definitely worrisome to me. What of the EU form is required right before I travel and they can’t process my paperwork in time? I already have my tickets and hotels… sorry I am just worried.
@@janerobinson5944 My understanding is that there will be a grace period between when the law comes into effect and when it is fully enforced. So I don’t think you have anything to worry about for traveling in April. Enjoy your trip!
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for your tutorial. Been having problems when taking photo of passport, even though I have its page within the rectangle given. Don’t really know how to do it and trust not to have problems when scanning the passport chip. Regards from Mexico.
@@yutub6928 I have heard people needing many tries to get the app to accept things. It seems pretty persnickety.
I've been told the US passport chip is in the rear cover of the passport
Do I need the ETA as a Nigerian visitor to the UK?
@@emmanuelbassey4309 No, but you might need a visa instead. Here is the website with details: www.gov.uk/guidance/check-when-you-can-get-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta
It's all about business for these visa waiver countries. US, Canada Australia, NZ every govt doing this trick. Australian eTA fee is $20, NZ is highest $100, Canada $7, US $14. I am an Australian and visit UK, Canada, EU. Every govt is introducing this eTA thing ( even Thailand). Why not UK and EU? Millions of Australian visit UK every year x 10pound. You do the math.
The process is ridiculous and I think it’s uncalled for, we have a passport. It’s another money grab. I tried the app and it kept referring me to the website. At the website it’s very difficult to find the link for processing it online. Sorry, but that’s my experience as of today. It kept changing the country code for my phone number. I finally discovered the reason it told me I needed a visa was because of the change. It did it multiple times.
@@cherieroberton694 I am sorry to hear it didn’t go as smoothly for you. I guess something new like this is bound to have glitches, but it always sucks when it happens to you. Hopefully you work it out.
