I really like the form factor (smallish pouch that fits your IFAK contents including the TQ inside) for throwing into a edc bag or other places. Not really concerned with the low vis aspect. Great video Sam!
Agree about the molle. If they had sewn a pocket/pouch on the outside to stow 3-4 gloves for easy access I know what upgrade my call out vest would be getting!
On the website it says this requires a medical device authorization. Is this primarily for the “advanced” pack with the ARS needle? I was wanting the basic w/hemostatic.
You'll get it with all of them even the basic because of the NPA. It's more to cover themselves from liability, and it's not like you need to upload a license or anything (you just check a box). So if you want it just go ahead and buy it, just don't use anything you don't have the knowledge on/are not allowed by law to use.
I see back in your other NAR Ifak video from four years ago you stated hemostatic gauze had a negligible advantage over regular packing gauze, did something change your opinion on this?
Hey could you do a video on an IFAK geared towards motorcycle riders? I ride a naked style bike without any storage on it and looking at ideas for a med kit to carry with me. Thanks!
I think a small velcro patch area or even a small first aid cross would be good for things like range use, or even edc stuff incase someone else needed to get in it for you, something to let others know its first aid. I get the low profile idea, but is a ifak that standout?
Another great video Sam. Based on your experience, what is your opinion on how well the fabric will hold up vs some of the other cases from North American Rescue?
Packing the torso (specifically chest, pelvis, and abdomen) is not indicated as the source of bleeding is often too deep to reach with just gauze. The best chance of survival for a patient bleeding from penetrating trauma to the abdomen is direct manual pressure to the wound and an operating table. If evisceration (disembowelment) of organs is present, you could use the abdominal bandage to cover the wound and protect the exposed cavity and organs from outside contaminants. Hemostatic gauze is best used for trauma to areas such as the groin, shoulder area, and lower extremities when a tourniquet cannot be used to control the bleeding effectively. Do yourself a solid and look up the Stop The Bleed course, it’s extremely informative and I think it’ll answer a lot of questions. I hope this helps!
Different tools for different situations. ETT is the only definitive airway in that list and it is almost always my primary airway. That being said I never attempt intubation without a backup supraglottic airway ready to go. The LMA and king work great but are a bit harder to do and take a bit longer then the IGEL. Unfortunately the IGEL offers the least airway protection and is the largest packaging out of the entire list despite its amazingly simple to use. Really depends on the level of provider using them and how experienced they are/what other tools they have at their disposal.
Hey @PrepMedic, can you make a discord server? I have many questions and I am sure other people do so on Discord we could communicate a lot easier. Plus it would be a place where the EMS and Tactical Community could talk.
Can you do a personal review on the Recon Medical Tourniquet Gen 4? I'm aware that this is not a CoTCCC Approved tourniquet however, it appears to be a very well put together tq.
TQ = Life, Hemo gauze = Life, NPA = Life, ARS Needle = Life, Gauze = Life, Chest Seals = Life. Gloves aren’t required to save life/limb I’ll give you that. I don’t know about you but I’d rather shell out 110 bucks than die or watch one of my fellow brothers/sister die.
@@Vinnytwotime idk, i used my SOG Escape, to cut clothes off the patient in ED, because it just happened to be in my pocket at that moment. Sometimes shears cannot cut through really thick fabric, or start to "chew" on puffy jackets and sweaters, for example, as well as thick winter clothes. I'd much rather prefet a specialized rescue knife, with rounded point, over the shears

NAR is weird about that. You can buy tpak decompression needles on other sites without that bullshit.

The same is true today. No difference in mortality but hemp stasis is slightly faster with hemp static agents
@@PrepMedic thanks for the reply man I appreciate it, keep up the great content!
Have you ever reviewed non US medical gear for trauma? It might be interesting to see different gear from other parts of the world
Check out the med plate review done today! Its Canadian

You should do a review on the Bearfak and Bear minimum kit. You can find them and more at Refuge medical.
Outstanding video THANKS i just buy one $74 and is got most of the stuff i want
which pocket knife and which knife do you recommend to use on a daily basis?
I have found my new favorite youtube channel!

Just as well honestly
If I have a non-hemostatic abdominal pad and 3" hemostatic gauze, which should I use to treat an abdominal puncture wound?

Great Vid! Quick question where did you get your Apple Watch case?
What would you suggest as a great prebuilt range ifak?
You should look at Combat Medical Solutions. They have some very innovative solutions and improvements over your standards NARP products.
Hmmm.... But does NAR's "pro pricing" programme apply only to US?
Are thier any other companies that supply similar product as North American Rescue?
Can you make an online store where you can sell med kits where you can pick the supplies and bags that you get?
Rescue essentials is where I get all my items individually for a good price.
if you couldn’t afford all 4 which would you choose to carry from:
igel, king lts-d, lma, ett

Hoorah!
This product requires Medical Device Authorization for purchase.
They all say that. It’s just to cover NARs butt.

I just watched a video which suggested using combat gauze to pack a chest wound.... I must be cleansed.
Hey @prepmedic what is your favorite IFAK company
Well done

Reports of the windlass bending. I would stay away. There are so many approved and studied tq on the market, Doesn’t seem necessary to take the risk.
@@PrepMedic THX, I have a orange GEN 7 from NAR on the way right now.
cool sam
How do I enroll in the pro pricing?
@PrepMedic I have a question
TQ = $30, hemo gauze = $40, NP airway = $10, needle decom = $10, gauze wrap = $7, gloves = $3, chest seals = $12. in summary, rip off

$174.00? Good Lawd!?
Is this the official IFAK of ESPN 8 “The Ocho”?
Get some.
No shears?
Can use your EDC knife
@@l5mtf393 You can, but why risk cutting your patient? Use shears.
L5 MTF this is specifically marketed for non permissive environments. More than likely, I wouldn’t have my EDC knife (or Pistol for that matter).
