    Grew up in NY. I was 11 and this was the fist tape I ever got! Begged my mom for the $ for it. I remember riding my bike to the record store to buy it and listened to it in my walkman the whole way home 🙂 simple days. Although i turned into a metalhead/rocker guitarist my musical roots were in early hip/hop and I'll never forget that

Sure, they could rock a party better than most, but there was also something about them that assured us that they were wise beyond their years.     My older sister of six years was in high school when she bought this album and I was still in elementary school, but she proudly displayed it in the front of her milk crate. The musical score is forever imprinted in my childhood memory and as an adult, not only can I share this with my children, but I see a group of men, African American, from New York, who made a profound album which stands to date - ESCAPE.
