- Decided to do this one off because the song is soo darn good.
I found out about it through Undertale, but Cucumber Quest is a damn good webcomic and y'all should check it out if you haven't already. Not at the bit with this guy yet but still, this theme is rockin.

I gotta say, I'm a little upset with his design, and I only have myself to blame for it. The only reason I'm upset is because I thought that wasn't' an eye. I thought it was a speaker that they used the angle he was drawn at to emulate an eye turning. Which was a cool concept to me.

What's incredible is that this has the Metal Crusher leitmotif, the Gaster leitmotif, and on top of that, the baseline during the "verse" segments is the Ghost Fight/Dummy! Baseline. Toby Fox looked in a mirror and thought it sounded good.
I know everyone is just talking about undertale here but I genuinely miss cucumber quest. It was a really charming webcomic with a lovely art style, i hope the creator touches it again some day :’)

What I love about this song is that it’s perfect for people who go into it looking for Metal Crusher. It starts off as it’s own thing, and just throws the Mettaton into your face with no warning whatsoever. I know this song was made before Undertale, but my point still stands.

It's not metal crusher, it's death by glamour, but i agree that this theme is better than death by glamour.
Metal Crusher is a version of this.
Final BossGamer No, this is closer to Metal Crusher. Death by Glamour still uses this melody, sure, but it’s almost half the song in the former while the latter is sort of a combination of various Mettaton-related themes.

i used to be obsessed with this comic back when it was still updating regularly, i found out about undertale through the creator right before it came out. i remember playing through undertale for the first time and flipping out when i heard the same motif from this song in mettaton's theme, i feel like cucumber quest still kinda lives on a little bit because of it

I'm getting slight Sonic 3 vibes from this track. More specifically Knuckles' theme in the standalone version of Sonic 3.
In fact I swear this takes samples from Sonic 3 a good bit. I think I'm hearing the "Come On!" from Sonic 3's instruments in here at a much higher pitch and speeded up. More specifically at 4:45.
Man I love the Sega Genesis' instruments.
+Daluigi208 You are. That "Come On!" would be recognizable anywhere, and there are indeed a bunch of S3 samples in here (I'm tempted to say I'm hearing the S3K Mushroom Hill bass in there, but Sonic used a lot of similar synth basses).

I vaguely remember reading volume 2 of cucumber quest in my local library while waiting for my mom to finish some school thing. Didn't know Toby Fox composed a fan track for this character, but gosh darn is it good.
