Better than that. He had a chance to be as good as LeBron or Curry. Find me someone who displays the same mix of athleticism and skill finishing around the rim. The only other dude that comes to
mind is MJ. Layup-package of Kyrie, athleticism of Westbrook.

    • @RobbieStacks90

No, he wouldn't have been. He was a greedy player. Stop romanticizing him. Great point guards like John Stockton, Tony Parker, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, etc have an even balance of points and assists. Derrick Rose wasn't even bright enough to get an SAT score that would qualify him to play division I basketball. He's probably the most overrated athlete of his generation, along with Sean Taylor.

If u have seen mvp drose he was the complete opposite of selfish, In fact he was top 8 in assists at one point and if u have watched full sports games for Chicago bills back then around 2010-2012 drose legit was a really good playmaker he used to pass alot. At 4:23 when derrick did that tomahawk dunk with steph curry looking up at him . Rose was letting him know and the league on notice and who was coming. This was back when drose was owning every point guard matchup and taking over the league. Injuries robbed rose of his peak . Steph has championships now but rose got unlucky with the injuries. There was a time though when rose was the best point guard in the league. I still believe he could have been the best point guard ever today if it wasn’t for injuries. He was literally hood basketball. He got in the NBA the old-school way. The MVP year literally destroyed his career. Playing at the intensity every single game got to his knees. He came out of the draft with afterburners on ready to go, no looking back, full throttle. It’s crazy to think that all all the greats took time to get to their prime, D Rose had no build up to his prime, he came in the league in his prime. Every basketball player has structure in their game, street ball has no structure and D Rose brought it to the NBA. Those are a couple of reasons that made his career that special.

love D! watching him play since 2010 during my college days. the drive, the tear drop, and that layup package was lethal, he can switch left or right in mid-air.

He never reached his prime, this was only his 3rd year in. You hit prime around 8 yrs in so we never saw his prime just a glimpse of what it could have been.

I felt it when he came to Memphis with #23, thinking that would be his last ride. Thank you DRose, my eye opener to the world of basketball. Made me play and love the game. Im always looking for him to get a ring, watched him return from injuries, till that day he dropped 50. That's your own ring GOAT! You showcased your very own victory in this game like no other. You made it and I always knew you will. Thank you for showing us how you much love you had for basketball. Its a lifetime reward to watch you play GOAT!

In my humble opinion, i believe D-Rose popularized the floater. It wasn't done as often or as efficient as when he started doing it.

One of the most aggressive Point Guard the league has ever seen, prime D Rose charging at the rim in full speed while still having insane handles and agility was a beauty to watch and he's one of the reasons why I got into basketball in middle school. It's a shame that career altering injuries are part of being a pro athlete and I've seen it happen and impact some of my favourite agile players (Rondo, Rose and Wall) but he still had a great 15 season career that not many can have at this level. Youngest MVP Rose's legacy will live on forever and Bulls fans will not forget him for uplifting the franchise and bringing to the limelight once more
