Approximately one year ago, around December, I stumbled across this video in my subscription box. I admit, that I don't watch every play through Cry does simply because I'm not interested or I don't have the time. I ignored it. Then he posted another hour long video. Then another. At this point I was dying of cabin fever and noticing how much time I had in my hands. Something about the thumbnails made me oddly attracted into watching this play through this time so I watched episode one. I loved every second of it. Then I watched the next episode, then the next. Eventually I caught up with his uploading schedule and found myself waiting in anticipation for the next part. I remember I would sit by the Christmas tree with hot cocoa and a blanket and just binge watch these videos. I fully immersed myself into the game just like Cry did. I laughed and I cried all the way to the end. I felt so moved by this game and play through that I bought a copy of the game for myself. Here I am a year later returning to the video that got me in this amazing fandom in the first place. Thank you Cry for sharing this play through and experience with us. And thank you to anyone who has read all of this. Undertale will forever hold a special place in my heart.

This is the only Let's Play of Undertale that I like, mostly because that, while the other Let's Plays involve screeching RUclipsrs that have somehow become popular, Cryaotic has a calm voice throughout the game, and it pleases my ears. That, and his laugh is cute.
Taking a look back at the video that got me to play Undertale. At the end of this video, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Under no circumstances was I gonna watch anymore, I had to experience this myself. *Thank God I did.* Literally my favorite game of all time, for an immeasurable amount reasons. I just hope that not too many people get put off by a few odd fans, honestly, that's to be expected. Happy Anniversary, Undertale, and Toby Fox, you're a role model and an inspiration. Thanks for the game that I had no idea I needed.

While so many people are right to feel hurt and anger towards you Cry, I still come back to this series sometimes. It feels like I’m experiencing a moment frozen in time before half of the creators on this platform were exposed for their worst actions. I’m wishing you well Cry, despite it all. But more than that I’m wishing that all the other young people like me that found comfort in your content, are also doing well and that they’ve found another avenue for comfort. And I hope everyone knows that there’s nothing wrong with coming back to this video. Cry is no longer benefitting from your views and it’s perfectly normal to want to reminisce and re experience things. Watch this, or don’t. It doesn’t make you a bad person or a good one.
I feel the exact same way. This is my comfort series, i still watch it multiple times a year. No one has ever played a game like cry has played undertale and I’ll always thank him for that. I still miss him, but this series is my all time favorite and i will always watch it.
Apparently, shit gets fucked up if you do a genocide run, meaning that you literally have to kill every monster in every room, as monsters are finite in number. I don't know for sure though, as I'm in the middle of my first run, a (hopefully) pacifist run.

i was very shocked after hearing the news. when my friend shared it i kept thinking it's fake but oh boy. after reading through what happened, i wasn't sure what to think of the situation, it seemed like it was both the victim's and cry's fault (this is from my own perspective pls dont flame me for it, tried to look at it objectively) .but after knowing tge full story, i went and watched through his old lets plays again, and they still had the same charm to them as they always have. afterall i grew up watching them, and fell in love with the charm of his lets plays, so everything feels the same even after knowing the truth. ; ]

I find this all super cute because Cry literally has the same personality as Frisk. If he were playing this game by himself without RUclips interference, I wouldn't be shocked if he just naturally gravitated toward True Pacifist on his own.
Well, they sort of do. We'd describe Frisk as 'nice' along the Pacifist route and 'evil af and also possessed' along the Genocide route. Neutral routes fall between those two. I meant that Pacifist Frisk and Cry seem to both be nice people. :)
Frisk kind of does. When you play the Pacifist Route, everyone addresses FRISK at the end of the game, crediting them fro saving monster kind. But when you play the No Mercy Route, the PLAYER is blamed for the death by the first fallen human at the end of the route. You are the one who awoke the first fallen human and made them kill everyone, not Frisk. Frisk is the one who saved all the monsters, not the one who kills everyone. Frisk has a personality in that they are the Pacifist Hero, while you, the player, made the fallen human distance themselves from love and making them gain LOVE. You are blamed for the mass murder, Frisk is the savior of the Underground.
THOSE WATCHING THIS, it is HIGHLY recommended that if you are AT ALL interested in this game and lp, you should buy the game and play it for yourself. It is a very PERSONAL experience, so if you also want to watch the lp, buy the game and play ahead, you will NOT regret it.

I have seen quite a few comments from the past few weeks which makes me feel like other people came back to this series to say goodbye. To anyone reading this who is doing the same, I'm sorry. It really, really sucks. To anyone who loved this (or any other series) and is feeling guilty or conflicted coming back to it, don't. As long as you don't justify his actions or continue to support him, it is ok to revisit videos from a person who had a big impact on your life. You didn't do anything wrong and you don't need to feel bad. Feelings are complicated. To anyone who idolized Cry as an underaged girl and feels sick at how someone you looked up to so much could have hurt you, I understand. I always thought I was good at telling if someone was a good person and if you had asked me as a kid what RUclipsrs seemed like the best, most trustworthy people, Cry would have been one of my top picks. And now I know I could have just as easily been targeted by him. To anyone who feels betrayed, you're not alone. Growing up, Cry's play-throughs helped me feel like I had a friend and his voice was so soothing. Even after I stopped watching 'Let's Play' RUclips vids as much, I would come back to his videos just have his voice in the background when I needed some comfort. His videos were somewhere I felt safe. I'm sorry to anyone who, like me, doesn't feel that way anymore. I hope one day we can all find a place where we feel safe, a place we feel like we can return to when things get tough, a place that no matter how long we're away it still feels like home. It's ok to watch it and think of the times before we knew who he was. Because it introduced me to what is now my favorite game. I find myself periodically coming back to this video, thinking exactly what you're saying: it's fine to re-watch it, to remember to good times. But I can't. Everything feels wrong now. It's like in a creepy game, when there's a pitch change in the music and everything feels wrong even though everything's fine. Every word he says makes me remember he is not the person I have been admiring for years, and I can't bring myself to re-watch it, even though I desperately want to... Usually, only the player has access to it but we learn that Flowey used to have that power until we come along and Sans also has full knowledge of it, thus showing his apparent lasiness that is actually just hidden depresssion, since he knows that nothing matters anyway since everything will be reset. So the 6 other humans died because they didn't get help from a greater being (us) like Frisk did. But hey, that's just a theory... A GAME THEORY

kairoscomic The game literally punishes you for playing the genocide run. I mean like you're meant to have a "bad time" in the genocide run intentionally. When you're supposed to be having fun playing a game ,but instead you are punished severely and feel guilty for your actions. The Irony xD.

I'm a long time subscriber of Cry. Been around since I was in middle school. I'd periodically check in to see if he was playing anything that looked interesting. It had probably been around a year since I had watched Cry when I randomly checked back to his channel. I saw he'd started a new playthrough. This one. But it didn't seem that interesting to me so I didn't watch it. I went over to Cry's Twitter instead, just to see what he was up to, and saw that he had tweeted: "Undertale is so freaking weird, I love it." And that's what got my attention. So I started watching Undertale and immediately I was immersed. I could've watched infinite hours, let alone just twelve. Undertale became my whole world. My escape from familial abuse and depression. Undertale was a place where love existed, where people cared about each other. Undertale is a masterpiece and I am so grateful I got to experience it with no prior conceptions. I'm so glad I got to share a parasocial journey with Cry. If you're on the fence about watching this. Please. Do. I'd give anything to experience it all over for the first time again. Edit: Wow. I don't even know how to feel about this series anymore. Watching this when I was hurting so much was so important to me. But now knowing that the man who I experienced it with was not who I thought he was. I'm so depressed. But no matter what, Cry will not take Undertale away from me, nor the joy I experienced from it.
I'm happy that I also got to experience this WAY before all of this happened... I used to watch this while doing homework to keep me concentrated. It helped me so much because of how calm his voice was. Your story crushes me man. I can not relate to it, but it makes me so sad to see the same enjoyment that I had in him and this game, for half of it to be ruined. I hope that people one day will just be nice to each other. It breaks my heart that cry did what he did. Because this is still the best undertale playthrough by far on youtube. Cry being genuinely invested in the world and characters without trying to laugh it away is exactly what I want to see. The only other playthrough that might come close is Ange's from Nijisanji but that one is in Japanese so it's not easily accessible for most people

Hey, I really like Cryaotic's style, the calm demeanor and how he tries to follow what the game says but still likes to explore. My main purpose on commenting was to say a few things that I had found on my own play through, even though I'm quite late to this party. First off, Flowey the Flower will make those random appearances when you backtrack every now and then, hopefully it won't be the last time you see him in these videos. Secondly, Goat mom will never kill the player. Once she gets you down to a certain amount of hp, all of her attacks will avoid the player's soul. Literally, they'll move away if the player rushes at them. Lastly, Goat mom is at where you fell. She's attending to the flowers, she planted them there so people wouldn't get hurt if they fell in. Thats it for now, thank you for the video, its very interesting to see you handle it, you're very competent and calm. I have subscribed after watching.
I always go back to this playthrough when i need something soothing in the background. Now, in times of quarantine I'm putting it on to bake some bread for breakfast. Looking forwards to the next few hours of waiting for dough to proof.

omg i tried to spared toriel a few times but it wasn't working so i ended up defeating her thinking she'd just be weakened and give up but she died and i assumed that's all there was to it. then i woke at like 4am and was like HOLY SHIIIIIIT THE FROG SAID WE COULD SPARE A WHITE NAME FUCKKKKKKKKKK COULD I I HAVE SAVED HER?????? i did that too, assuming that maybe i'd be able to spare her when she was on low health, but the last hit does a bunch more damage than all the others and i accidentally killed her. then, i felt horrible and went back to spare her, and flowey gave me such a guilt trip for it on the other side. the save mechanic in this game is honestly amazing, in my opinion.
The greatest part is that there's a dialogue with Flowey for the exact purpose of berating people who reset the game just to spare Toriel, because they didn't know they could spare her. This game is self-aware and it's amazing.

This series helped in my hardest times. It's my comfort gameplay and my comfort let's play. When I learned what he did, I got so disgusted that I even got too disgusted to remove that playlist from my saved playlist. I've never found any let's play as good as this one. Yeah, this game is good. Music is great, interesting combat. But I don't really see why it receives all the praise it does. It feels like a bit of a nostalgia bomb. I mean, I mentioned Earthbound the other day and a kid was like "isn't that just an undertale clone?" I nearly lost my shit. I don't get it.
Undertale is literally the most well thought out game of all time. It knows how to hit you emotionally. And those emotions sometimes aren't even sad! The genocide run makes you feel empty inside. Just completely soulless and empty.

I'm not gonna lie, even though the drama that unfolded around him was horrible and to find out what he did broke my heart and made me mad at him....I still miss him. I can genuinely say that I loved every single one of his videos and his content was always amazing. I will still find my ways back to his videos because I love them. But...the feelings I had before everything that happened are not there anymore. I hope you're doing ok cry (I say this because he is still a person with feelings. He may have done something horrible, but that doesn't mean that we have to become horrible people ourselves and wish ill harm against him). Maybe in a different world, things would've been different...

Approximately one year ago, around December, I stumbled across this video in my subscription box. I admit, that I don't watch every play through Cry does simply because I'm not interested or I don't have the time. I ignored it. Then he posted another hour long video. Then another. At this point I was dying of cabin fever and noticing how much time I had in my hands. Something about the thumbnails made me oddly attracted into watching this play through this time so I watched episode one. I loved every second of it. Then I watched the next episode, then the next. Eventually I caught up with his uploading schedule and found myself waiting in anticipation for the next part. I remember I would sit by the Christmas tree with hot cocoa and a blanket and just binge watch these videos. I fully immersed myself into the game just like Cry did. I laughed and I cried all the way to the end. I felt so moved by this game and play through that I bought a copy of the game for myself. Here I am a year later returning to the video that got me in this amazing fandom in the first place. Thank you Cry for sharing this play through and experience with us. And thank you to anyone who has read all of this. Undertale will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Taking a look back at the video that got me to play Undertale. At the end of this video, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Under no circumstances was I gonna watch anymore, I had to experience this myself. *Thank God I did.* Literally my favorite game of all time, for an immeasurable amount reasons. I just hope that not too many people get put off by a few odd fans, honestly, that's to be expected.

I feel the exact same way. This is my comfort series, i still watch it multiple times a year. No one has ever played a game like cry has played undertale and I’ll always thank him for that. I still miss him, but this series is my all time favorite and i will always watch it.

Apparently, shit gets fucked up if you do a genocide run, meaning that you literally have to kill every monster in every room, as monsters are finite in number. I don't know for sure though, as I'm in the middle of my first run, a (hopefully) pacifist run.

I find this all super cute because Cry literally has the same personality as Frisk. If he were playing this game by himself without RUclips interference, I wouldn't be shocked if he just naturally gravitated toward True Pacifist on his own.
Frisk doesn't have a personality, though. That's kind of the point of the character.
Well, they sort of do. We'd describe Frisk as 'nice' along the Pacifist route and 'evil af and also possessed' along the Genocide route. Neutral routes fall between those two. I meant that Pacifist Frisk and Cry seem to both be nice people. :)
Frisk kind of does. When you play the Pacifist Route, everyone addresses FRISK at the end of the game, crediting them fro saving monster kind. But when you play the No Mercy Route, the PLAYER is blamed for the death by the first fallen human at the end of the route. You are the one who awoke the first fallen human and made them kill everyone, not Frisk.
Frisk is the one who saved all the monsters, not the one who kills everyone. Frisk has a personality in that they are the Pacifist Hero, while you, the player, made the fallen human distance themselves from love and making them gain LOVE. You are blamed for the mass murder, Frisk is the savior of the Underground.

As long as you don't justify his actions or continue to support him, it is ok to revisit videos from a person who had a big impact on your life. You didn't do anything wrong and you don't need to feel bad. Feelings are complicated.
To anyone who idolized Cry as an underaged girl and feels sick at how someone you looked up to so much could have hurt you, I understand. I always thought I was good at telling if someone was a good person and if you had asked me as a kid what RUclipsrs seemed like the best, most trustworthy people, Cry would have been one of my top picks. And now I know I could have just as easily been targeted by him.
To anyone who feels betrayed, you're not alone. Growing up, Cry's play-throughs helped me feel like I had a friend and his voice was so soothing. Even after I stopped watching 'Let's Play' RUclips vids as much, I would come back to his videos just have his voice in the background when I needed some comfort. His videos were somewhere I felt safe. I'm sorry to anyone who, like me, doesn't feel that way anymore.
I hope one day we can all find a place where we feel safe, a place we feel like we can return to when things get tough, a place that no matter how long we're away it still feels like home. I wish our little corner of the internet could have stayed our safe place forever, but I know we'll be ok.

Doesn't this mean that, while they're still young, they are from multiple age groups? A disparity means a great difference, so yeah. Toriel has cared for some young kids like the player, but probably some teenagers too. Judging by things in *the fight* in the late game, it does make sense that whoever they were, they definitely were not all young like the player.

The other humans weren't able to save and reset because they weren't used by a player.
You see, this game revolves around this feature. Usually, only the player has access to it but we learn that Flowey used to have that power until we come along and Sans also has full knowledge of it, thus showing his apparent lasiness that is actually just hidden depresssion, since he knows that nothing matters anyway since everything will be reset.
So the 6 other humans died because they didn't get help from a greater being (us) like Frisk did.
But hey, that's just a theory... A GAME THEORY

I'm a long time subscriber of Cry. Been around since I was in middle school. I'd periodically check in to see if he was playing anything that looked interesting. It had probably been around a year since I had watched Cry when I randomly checked back to his channel. I saw he'd started a new playthrough. This one. But it didn't seem that interesting to me so I didn't watch it. I went over to Cry's Twitter instead, just to see what he was up to, and saw that he had tweeted: "Undertale is so freaking weird, I love it." And that's what got my attention. So I started watching Undertale and immediately I was immersed. I could've watched infinite hours, let alone just twelve. Undertale became my whole world. My escape from familial abuse and depression. Undertale was a place where love existed, where people cared about each other. Undertale is a masterpiece and I am so grateful I got to experience it with no prior conceptions. I'm so glad I got to share a parasocial journey with Cry. If you're on the fence about watching this. Please. Do. I'd give anything to experience it all over for the first time again.
Edit: Wow. I don't even know how to feel about this series anymore. Watching this when I was hurting so much was so important to me. But now knowing that the man who I experienced it with was not who I thought he was. I'm so depressed. But no matter what, Cry will not take Undertale away from me, nor the joy I experienced from it.
I'm happy that I also got to experience this WAY before all of this happened... I used to watch this while doing homework to keep me concentrated. It helped me so much because of how calm his voice was. Your story crushes me man. I can not relate to it, but it makes me so sad to see the same enjoyment that I had in him and this game, for half of it to be ruined. I hope that people one day will just be nice to each other. It breaks my heart that cry did what he did. Because this is still the best undertale playthrough by far on youtube. Cry being genuinely invested in the world and characters without trying to laugh it away is exactly what I want to see. The only other playthrough that might come close is Ange's from Nijisanji but that one is in Japanese so it's not easily accessible for most people

I watched this 8 years ago. Your series of videos got me in to undertale. I still have all of the memories we shared together while you played this amazing game. I'm currently on my 2nd re watch after so much time. You are a hero in my eyes for playing this. I look forward to experiencing it again.

Hey, I really like Cryaotic's style, the calm demeanor and how he tries to follow what the game says but still likes to explore. My main purpose on commenting was to say a few things that I had found on my own play through, even though I'm quite late to this party.
First off, Flowey the Flower will make those random appearances when you backtrack every now and then, hopefully it won't be the last time you see him in these videos.
Secondly, Goat mom will never kill the player. Once she gets you down to a certain amount of hp, all of her attacks will avoid the player's soul. Literally, they'll move away if the player rushes at them.
Lastly, Goat mom is at where you fell. She's attending to the flowers, she planted them there so people wouldn't get hurt if they fell in.

I always go back to this playthrough when i need something soothing in the background. Now, in times of quarantine I'm putting it on to bake some bread for breakfast. Looking forwards to the next few hours of waiting for dough to proof.
Coming back to this Playlist years later is like greeting an old friend. I started playing Undertale for years first time after watching this series. I Replayed the whole game just to save her. It's fine though because this games fucking amazing!
i did that too, assuming that maybe i'd be able to spare her when she was on low health, but the last hit does a bunch more damage than all the others and i accidentally killed her. then, i felt horrible and went back to spare her, and flowey gave me such a guilt trip for it on the other side. the save mechanic in this game is honestly amazing, in my opinion.

The greatest part is that there's a dialogue with Flowey for the exact purpose of berating people who reset the game just to spare Toriel, because they didn't know they could spare her.

This series helped in my hardest times. It's my comfort gameplay and my comfort let's play. When I learned what he did, I got so disgusted that I even got too disgusted to remove that playlist from my saved playlist.
I've never found any let's play as good as this one. So I'm coming back to give it a last chance. Maybe at that moment he was still genuine ? Idk... I'm probably too hopeful.

Yeah, this game is good. Music is great, interesting combat. But I don't really see why it receives all the praise it does. It feels like a bit of a nostalgia bomb. I mean, I mentioned Earthbound the other day and a kid was like "isn't that just an undertale clone?" I nearly lost my shit. I don't get it.

If you play on the pacifist route, and play all the way to the end, there's a lot of feels.
Undertale is literally the most well thought out game of all time. It knows how to hit you emotionally. And those emotions sometimes aren't even sad! The genocide run makes you feel empty inside. Just completely soulless and empty.

I'm not gonna lie, even though the drama that unfolded around him was horrible and to find out what he did broke my heart and made me mad at him....I still miss him. I can genuinely say that I loved every single one of his videos and his content was always amazing. I will still find my ways back to his videos because I love them. But...the feelings I had before everything that happened are not there anymore. I hope you're doing ok cry (I say this because he is still a person with feelings. He may have done something horrible, but that doesn't mean that we have to become horrible people ourselves and wish ill harm against him). Maybe in a different world, things would've been different...
