Great to bring back an old loco. We know it's not highly detailed runs noisy but it's someone's childhood toy must mean so much to them seeing it brought back to life. Great work as always Great viewing 😊
I have two of these shunters and both of them run very well. All the locomotive details are molded and that makes these models ideal for the younger modelers. I was 6 years old when I had the first one as a Christmas gift. A friend gave me the other one. I do not know which is which, but they both run on the layout now. Martin. (Thailand)
It's more fun running old Triang locos on modern track, watching them bounce up and down on the sleepers, sparks flying and filling the air with ozone.😛
The interesting thing that most people forget is that this never was based on an 08. It was a simplified model of an early LMS shunter. The later hornby basic model (pre super detail) is different. The reasons are it has horizontal radiator fins, not vertical, and the tool boxes are different. Cheers Dan. Nice video
Brought back many memories of my green shunter from the early 60's. Still had it until early this year. It cost me/dad 38/-. That's 38 shillings to to younger viewers ;-) About £40 in todays money I think.
Great video thanks Dan for sharing, I've got one of these diesel 08's and the older ones with deep flange wheels do bottom out on my Peco track,it does run through, mine is in a Triang RS6 goods set, Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you and your family, J
Fabulous, I had one of those in the 60's and yes, I was only thinking as you said it that I can remember the smell. Oh that takes me back. Thanks Dan.
Another great video Dan!! Many thanks for sharing! Cheers Onno.
