These instructions belong to the very best you find on youtube. As I used glitter yarn in several colours it was not necessary to apply any starch or sugar water or the like. I usually leave the thread a bit longer and then just stitch around the contour. Thanks for sharing this lovely bell.
Thank you, great to hear you like it and the instructions! 😊 True, if you have fairly stiff glitter yarn, you don't need to starch them! I'm sure yours are beautiful!
I am a newbie at crocheting but am obcessed with it. I love having you for my teacher. You go slow and it is so easy to understand what you want us to do during the tutorial. Thank you. Carolyn Dennis
😂 I'm the same on this one Tuula! I just cannot get it right! I've tried so many times. I will leave it and come back to it I think. Thanks for the tutorial x
I made this bell last night and forgot to leave a comment! Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I made mine out of a silver glitter yarn and very happy with the design and how it turned out. :) Thank you!
I am new to crocheting ,i love the pattern... But i was wondering if you have a tutorial for a small bell with the same pattern or any other pattern...? Thanks and merry Christmas ❤
Hope you had a lovely Christmas! I was off RUclips work for 10 days so only saw this now. Unfortunately this is the only bell pattern tutorial I have at the moment.
It's pretty but not for beginners for sure! I've tried several times and just gave up. Might help if you showed the full tutorial like someone else said showing how to end row two. I think it's best if you assume beginners and more advanced crocheters are follwing along. Thanks!
Yes, I don't have much content for beginners. Most crochet youtubers make content that could be for beginners but so few have content for those with years or decades of crochet experience so I'm concentrating that on many videos, finetuning crochet skills. Comments on videos and questions I ask show that the majority have crocheted for decades. This particular video is years old so that could be part of the reason why something isn’t clear. RUclipsrs learn more with every video! But trust you will continue to enjoy crochet 😊
You can make them in any sizes as long as the yarn weight and hook size go together. Most often I have made these in DK weight cotton yarn on hook 3.5 mm.
I like this pattern but unfortunately I have trouble not following the tutorial because you don’t show how to end row two. It’s very important to show clearly the beginning and end of each row. Thank you.
I wonder what is missing from it? This is the first time I hear this out of the 80.000 times this video has been watched. Like in all my videos, if something gets repeated the same until the end of the row, I do not show it more than with one or two stitches.
@@TuulaMaaria that would be awesome .. this video seems slower which is really good for me .. trying to find miniature ornaments to crochet and having trouble locating them .. if I do find them they are not in English so I can't understand them
Sorry to hear that, wonder why that is! If it is easier for you to follow written instructions or a crochet chart, you can order the free pattern to your email at patterns.knit-crochet-christmas.com/bellpattern
Yes, this is because the important thing is to use a hook that goes with the yarn a person is using. If I say that I use a certain hook (like 4 mm in this video) and then someone crochets the same thing using fine thread or chunky yarn, it isn't going to work. The important thing in projects where the yarn weight doesn't matter is to use the right hook for the particular yarn you are using, regardless of what yarn I'm using. In these bells the yarn weight only matters in determining the size of the bell.
You can also see this newer video of the same bell ruclips.net/video/kwNEQdNNCUc/видео.html. Put the English subtitles on, find auto translate in the settings and select your own langauge. I know auto translations are not perfect but they show the basics.

Very nice tutorial. I will use this often this year and for years to come. Thank you!
a trick: watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Graham Bodie Definitely, been using flixzone for years myself =)
@Graham Bodie Definitely, I've been watching on flixzone for since december myself :)
@Graham Bodie yea, have been watching on flixzone for months myself :)
@Graham Bodie yup, been watching on Flixzone for since november myself :)
I am going to make this to put on a Christmas stocking. It is just beautiful.
Great, that's a good idea 😊
Curious what size hook and weight of yarn? Tyvm 😊

@TuulaMaaria tyvm 😊 things like that do matter. Have a great 👍 day. Hugs ♥️ 🤗
@@temi-twistedzones Yes, I mention those if it does matter, maybe now a bit more often, this video is 7 years old
Beautiful!!

@lilianavertiz2906 Actually, I too didn't understand end of row 2. Can you pls tell me what to do?
This is a much better version and video .. could you make a tutorial on a smaller version of this bell please and thank you
Thank you! Could you make a smaller one by using fine thread? I could think of making a smaller kind of bell for next Christmas.

How do you hardened your work?
2 methods. I spray with starch or two dip it in a glue and water solution.
I either use white glue with a little water or a sugar-water solution with 40% water,60% sugar heated.
My only issue is you never say what size hook you’re using
Yes, this is because the important thing is to use a hook that goes with the yarn a person is using. Do you have any pointsettia patterns
No, unfortunately not. But there are many if you search either in Google or here on RUclips.
