Allison, your videos are always great! I am so thankful that Janet Madison sent me your way for inspiration! I have learned so much from the both of you! I have used sketches for so many years, but following along with this sketch support series & participating in your “classes”/FB groups has been a game changer that has given me endless ways to use my collection of sketches! Thank you again!!!
This comment makes me so happy! I love hearing that you are enjoying the videos and they are helping you with sketches. That's so awesome! Thank you for taking the time to tell me this, Renee! Janet is the best! I love her!
Thank you!! You guys get to see the pretty, organized part. Just below the bottom of the screen, there's a ton of disorganized mess on my floor. I swear, one day I'll get everything organized just the way I want!
Thank you!! Do it!!! I'm always trying to get people to try it. It always seems people either love it or hate it. I find that I enjoy the actual process of stitching just as much as I enjoy the look of it. There's something about it that I love. I'll turn on a favorite TV show or movie and stitch away!
@@allisondavis4sg944 I’ve done it a bit here and there in my layouts, but I’m always looking for ways to add more of it. It’s the perfect activity to do while watching tv
Thank you! I used a mix of papers from Jillibean Soup, Simple Stories, and Pebbles Inc. I know that they are all older papers, but I'm not sure of collection names because these all were from a bunch of scraps I had from other layouts. I wish I was more help!
Hi Allison - I love your Designs and Videos... Thank You for sharing... May I please enquire about the Arrow shape in the last Design, did you hand cut this or do you have a Die Cut or a Punch? I would love to give this Arrow Design a go. Thanks again. Rh🙏💞
Thank you so much, Rhonda! I actually cut those arrow pieces from the patterned paper. It was seriously such an easy layout to make because the paper was so awesome and easy to use.
Hi. Watching this video in July 2021. You have a new subscriber. What FANTASTIC pages. Love your style. Are you hand stitching these embellishments? Using a sewing machine? Using some tool I don't know about? TIA.
Allison - do you remember what the collection was called for the fantastic Drew layout? The green - black and checkered paper would make some great soccer layouts and soccer stuff I hard to find. Thanks so much
It's a combination of different collections. The orange, green, blue, and multi-colored are all Jillibean Soup, the white grid paper is from Simple Stories, the black and white checkered is, I believe, Carta Bella, and the "you are awesome" is Pebbles Inc.
I do both. Most of the time I print through my local Wal-mart. It's easier, much more economical, and I really like the quality of the prints. Plus, I can get away with printing sizes like a 9 x 5" photo or even bigger. I've gotten a 12 x 12" print from them before. I printed the 9 x 5" photo specifically for that layout, but I do what I call bulk printing. I will take a day or two, pick out a ton of photos, edit and crop them into photo sizes that I like and use often, and then order them. Then I store them here on my desk in photo boxes. I like that I can flip through them, find a set, and get straight to scrapbooking. When I print at home, the largest size I can do is 4x6. I mainly use that printer when I don't have a print already that will work for what I'm creating and I need to print something quickly.
Thank you, Patricia! Some days I don't know either! I always say that I think a large portion of my brain just never grew out of the wild imagination I had as a kid. :)
They do!? This is a game changer for me!! That's so awesome! I'm with you, I always grab fonts when they are 50% off. Now that I know this, I'm going to have to grab a bunch next time. Thank you for letting me know!
Thank you!! I do all of my stitching by hand. I feel like there are less limitations that way and I like having more control. I've never been good with a machine!
Sometimes. For embellishments, most of the time but with patterns and colors it all depends on the layout design or what particular products I'm working with. I just like to make sure I have an even spread of colors/patterns on the layout, especially one with lots of strips.
I don't have any video tutorials, but I do have an ebook: scrapbookgeneration.com/digital-download-ebook-writing-to-remember-a-guide-to-scrapbook-journaling/
Cars, trucks, spaceships... One can only wonder what amazing ideas you would have created for a little girl. Not that girls don't like cars and trucks 😉. I actually try not to make my layouts too girly... sometimes.
I was one of those little girls that liked cars and truck so I think I lucked out with boys! Although I would have loved to be able to cover my layouts in pink and flowers. I mean I still do with boys sometimes, but it seems like so many more products are geared towards more feminine themes.
I love when you said I just could not stop taking pictures because I go crazy with photos as well. Love dog wood canyon.
Isn't that place beautiful!! I can't wait to go back!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that goes crazy!
Oh...I might use this same theme and scallop the top of the red stripe to match our popcorn boxes. Love it !
That’s a really clever idea!!
I'm so excited to try a sketch using 6x6 paper pads! Thank you so much for sharing!

Awesome!! It's going to be a blast!!
Seriously, this is one of your best Sketch Support videos! And, I have no problem resisting to urge to stitch on everything...
Wow, thank you! That just made my day!!
You seriously don't want to spend 2,000 hours stitching on just one layout!? Crazy! lol!

Great tips! Thank you

I have an overload of 4x4 size prints. A sketch and video would be awesome for that size 😊
I'll see what I can do about that! I love working with 4x4" photos!

Both layouts are fantastic! What paper line did you use for layout #2?
Thank you! I used a mix of papers from Jillibean Soup, Simple Stories, and Pebbles Inc. I know that they are all older papers, but I'm not sure of collection names because these all were from a bunch of scraps I had from other layouts. I wish I was more help!

Do you print your photos at home or through a service? I love the idea of the 9x5.
I do both. Most of the time I print through my local Wal-mart. It's easier, much more economical, and I really like the quality of the prints. Thank you for all your great inspiration, Allison! What typewriter font did you use on the Silhouette?
It's called Courier. :) (and thank you for the compliment!)
Love this, since I take waaaayyyyy too many pics!😉
You and me both! I can't help myself!
Such a talent. Don't know how you do it .
Thank you, Patricia! Some days I don't know either! I always say that I think a large portion of my brain just never grew out of the wild imagination I had as a kid. :)
Silhouette store sells fonts for sketch pens. They have a bunch to choose from. I try and buy them when they are 50% off. Hope that helps.

I'm looking through all of them now and I'm so excited! I can even "fake" my handwriting with some of these. I'm so glad you posted this!
So glad I found you, LOVE your sketches! Question: on your embellishments, do you stitch by hand or machine?
Thank you!! I do all of my stitching by hand. I feel like there are less limitations that way and I like having more control. I've never been good with a machine!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
❤️❤️❤️
So Rule of 3 when it comes to patterns, colors or embellishments?
Sometimes. For embellishments, most of the time but with patterns and colors it all depends on the layout design or what particular products I'm working with. I just like to make sure I have an even spread of colors/patterns on the layout, especially one with lots of strips.
Do you have any tutorials on journaling?
