    Granted the Jordan cards you submitted were mostly difficult to gem, two 10's and 40% 7 or below is still rather brutal.

    PSA has some graders that think a card should be better than when they were first produced, in order to Gem. Put a modern PSA 4, 5, or 6 next to a vintage PSA 4, 5, or 6. It's not even close, but the grading standards are the same.

      I also believe that some of them like their Power to determine populations and values of cards at a cost to us. Definitely need a quallity/consistency control in their company.

    I can’t believe some of your grades getting a 4 and 6’s. That is too harsh especially on the finest cards. You definitely got a grader that was having a bad day.

      PSA is hot garbage. Everyone knows they are controlling the pop reports on these cards and people still keep giving them their money. I just don’t understand this aspect of the hobby. There are definitely better grading companies

    What gets me is how PSA has made people that the graders are harder on cards now, I always thought if it was a 10 in the 90s it would be a 10 today.

    Tough grading sub for sure. The grader probably graded these on a Monday after a shitty weekend.

    I’ve been watching this series quietly but I had to say something about the grading. I want to first say this is just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions so there’s my disclaimer for what I’m about to say. Prior to the pandemic I graded alooot thru a California submission company I always preferred to keep my identity secret..just my preference. My psa 10,psa,9,ratio were pretty spot on very rarely did I get psa 8 and if I received a psa 7 something happened to the card . I’ve always shot for psa 9 and was happy with 9’s 8s I lived with it if it was condition sensitive card. Where I have the problem with psa now since the mass hiring of all there NEW breed graders are grading 90s inserts & jordan on such high curve that they feel they should be pack fresh & even pack fresh doesn’t produce a perfect card no card is truly perfect let’s be honest and these graders are comparing 2024 card stock quality to 90s quality and you can’t do it anymore than you can compare 90s card stock to 50/60s card stock.I really feel that when certain cards come in they shouldn’t just be handed to the next grader in line..you want someone with 90s experience on how these cards were produced,packaged etc most of the cards are older than the individuals grading the cards and have no real knowledge of the cards. This is the reason I always prefer to grade out at the national yes it cost me a load of money but I truly feel they bring the best graders to the national I’ve never received a grade of less than psa 9 at the national and that’s grading cards like high end jordan refractors,scoring kings,beam teams,86 Fleer rc,ultrabilities superstar,flair hot shots,zforce rave,Skybox rubies etc. .. yes I pay the premium either way but I truly feel I get the best of the best looking at my cards at the national It just pains me to see these grades you get the rookie curve and it’s brutal especially if your doing it for a living. Thankfully I’m a 100% collector but these type of grades would just make me stop subbing with them. I have a hoard still to grade and probably won’t be able to complete in my lifetime but I can’t in good conscience allow these cards to fall into the basic line grading machine that psa is running now..again my opinion and it doesn’t matter but o just felt I would voice my opinion that graders should know what they are grading if you don’t the. You shouldn’t be handling the card I don’t need cookie cutter grading and neither does the hobby. I’ll definitely continue to watch but wish psa “ hierarchy” would watch these also and think about these things.

    When I first started collecting Jordans, I thought I had a good eye for purchasing raw cards......but now I am convinced that I will never send them in for grading. Too many variables to battle. PSA should have some kind of low threshold alert that says "hey, we're going to grade this a 6.....are you sure you want it slabbed?" Nope...take my money and give me my card back!

    The problem is PSA now grades 90s cards like modern cards. 90s cards will never score as high as modern. Gone are the days of 9s and 10s in 90s cards.

I just sent 24 card submission with like 50% Jordans. Hopefully that grader does not get my submission lol. Great vid though. Keep head high brotha.

  • @BigDirtDawg
    @BigDirtDawg 6 месяцев назад +1

    PSA just doesn’t know what da fff they’re doing. They just make up shit talking trimming and this and that then grade same card next submission. But they are the hobby standard still which is ridiculous when tag is up and running. You can’t even crack and resubmit to tag at all because they will catch it. And I’m not a fan boy of anything or anyone but everything that new grading company does is by far better. The way they tell you exactly why you got the grade you did is huge imo

  • @dustyballs9
    @dustyballs9 6 месяцев назад +1

    Sorry to say this Bryan but man all those cards are gem or nothing. You really got take some time to clean with kurts care, look through the microscope, and see what a psa 9 brings. With 90s cards you can't rely on psa 10s. That's a total jackpot. I'm very picky with what I grade. I've only graded maybe 6 base or low end cards. If the psa 9 is only worth $20, please don't grade it! Just sell it raw for $5-$10. Don't give PSA $19 for a card that'd gonna be worthless. My motto is if the psa 9 is worth $100, and then a jackpot 10 is $500 go for it. If you really wanna grade base or low end inserts you better check your eye prescription and have carbon batteries in your mag light! I stick to 90s inserts if the paa 8 is worth $100 or the 9 is $200, is worth it. I hate to have you throw your money away. Congrats on the Chrome Sticky fingers. That bailed u out 💯

      Dusty reshaping corners and edges and/or removing is at the very least a subject of great debate within the hobby. I’m not going to really get into it because everybody can draw their own line on what is and isn’t acceptable. It’s not my place to decide for others. But for me a microfiber cloth gets me where I need to be from a profit margin standpoint.
